And it'd be nice to comment every rom, with your opinion

I didn't want to make a new thread for asking the same quistions everyone has been asking but it looks like everyone is escaping from answering the same simple quistion..
can anyone make a video at night with x1 and give a clear answer about the ability of shooting video in mp4 format ?
I don't really understand why everyone is ashame to answer this ?!
whenever you ask anyone he keeps saying i had no chance , i was busy , i use my own n95 for video ........etc
does it mean they are ashame to admit something they hate to say ?!
it's not a helpful way at all because many people needs to know if there is any bad point about the phone .
so please again someone who already had his x1 be kind and helpful and shoot a video at night to show how good or bad is the camera and upload it somewhere and give a CLEAR ANSWER if the phone can make video in mp4 or not
Pretty sure it only shoots 3GP video which is just an mp4 wrapper. Could be wrong, but I haven't seen any video samples that were uncompressed that weren't .3gp. There is also a video on xperiancer that shows some soccer game at night/low light. I think its compressed because of youtube though. You can look for uncompressed X1 video and find a few samples around the web.
what i know is 3gp is not the same quality as mp4 maybe iam wrong but i got confirmation now from another owner
the X1 can only save vedio as 3gp
Everyone should know that before buying the X1 .
sadly another bad point in the X1 , i wished it wasn't i really loved this device so much and waited it for long time, now all what i hear is just disappointing things .
Can anyone post some good quality and long videos demostrating Android on HD2, so we can watch the speed, estability....
Thanks!
Uhm,is that so hard?
http://lmgtfy.com/?q=android+hd2+video
there so many on yt
just sort by date and u get the most update android
enjoy
Due to i do not have more then 10 post so i can't post in the original thread in the development forum, so i can only post here in reply to the original thread.
anyway I just tried the 720p 44khz hacked camera on Serendipity's 6.2 (JS7) with lagfix and the video/audio recording seems to be in sync.. and note that i did not use avidemux to re-encode the video.
for those who are curious how much diff and how it effects, i just uploaded a video onto youtube for proof/reference.
and sets of 2 video for comparison at 2nd post.
Just uploaded at set of samples to youtube to compare the diff:
View at 720p for the difference
NOTED that both video are not edited or used by avidemux
original
modded
thats quite impressive
Very nice hope other chefs implement this in their roms
Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk
debusROM has implemented it.
Anyone had 1080p video working? Was really choppy for me (mp4, h.264).

We already have a thread going on about this. Please search next time.

Edit: In short answer: yes we have had a lot of issue with high quality playback. Supposedly the 3.1 update will help a lot with this, but you aren't the only one having issues!
Oh and kentoe... next time you post up a question about video quality, i suggest you search the forums...

I don't know what the need of "oh and" was for since this was your first reply in the post...
Disregarding that fact, your post was in regards to 10.1v and the title of the post had nothing to do in relation to 720p playback or any playback issues at all. I would have had a chance to reply in that post maybe if it had pertained to playback issues and not "So now i have this new Galaxy 10.1v tab... how do i watch videos??"
I never bothered stepping in the post considering the question of the post was how to watch a video. Specifically I titled my post for 720 playback issues. Now that we have 70+ posts with information about containers on videos and different peoples perspective on their 10.1 I/O tablets I would much rather point him to the post that contained all this information.
Looking through your thread now, the just of what was talked about was more in line of what extensions play and what don't rather than playback issues anyway.
If you really wanted to make a point/call me out you should have shown me your post and pointed it out to me when I first started my post. Instead, you went out of your way to go to another post and say "No, I did it first!" and take the time to call me out on it then. Really?
I don't know what the need of "Please search next time" was for since this was your first reply in the post...
Obviously cant read or search it seems.
Yes, my post is in regard to the 10.1v, well spotted. Because it is a totally different device that is running a totally different operating system to the 10.1 (yet to be released) and the Xoom (has it's own forum.) which also seem to be suffering the same "high definition" 720p and beyond video file playback issues.
I believe my thread title did not contain the words 720p or 1080p or HD or 10.1 only or Xoom or Google i/o, but i also believe that yours only contained the word "720p" in the title...
Anyway, onto my original post content... I think the last 2 paragraphs pretty much sum up what i was trying to ask the community... just in case you missed it... here it is again... You know, the bit were i mention that the device does not play any HD video that it was quoted it was capable of doing...

The closest i got to playing a 720p mkv file was with rockplayer... but i ran into the similar issues with rockplayer. when i used it to play the mkv files, if i used hardware decoding, crystal clear picture... no sound. If i used software decoding, sound works... but now the picture it all chopped up and way out of sync...
For the moment it looks like it's back to encoding the mkv files back to xvid... As for this device being able to play 1080p video... i wont hold my breath. From what i have seen of how it plays 720p, it may come in the next update, but for now it even appears to be struggling to play 720p let alone 1080p...
Any ideas, tips or trick you have found that works for playing different video types???

Two weeks later you post in your thread...

So they boast about the 1080p playback on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, however I haven't had much luck with this. I tried putting on two different 720p video files on and both of them have sub-par playback.

And just to note... In your whole thread, you didnt even ask a single question... you made a series of observations, but actually asked very little in the way of questions... and by very little, i mean "none".
Oh and just in case you didnt even read your own post... did you also only just talk about file extensions?? MP4 vs. MKV?? But it's hard not to talk about what plays HD video files considering that 99.9% of HD video comes as an MP4 or an MKV file...
Anyway... on one last note, i didnt call you out on it, because basically, im not one of these rude individuals that feels it necessary to type "use the search function" every time someone asks a question... Was it really needed to point that part out? I think it would have sufficed if you just said... "we already have a thread on this, come over and join us there... This link is.... (insert link here)".
Case in point is, my 10.1v and your 10.1 are no different in the typical Honeycomb video playback woes. You post is nearly verbatim what i asked 2 weeks before hand, save a few minor details.
So my advice to you is, next time, before you start a thread... use the search button (or to put it another way, before you decide to advise someone else on what to do with their questions... make sure all of yours are in order... )
Hi, pals.
I'm planning to install the Aspire ROM again but I'd like to know the best camera in my case to choose on recovery... I know that some options are available on the AROMA Installer... Don't suggest me the stock one, please.
I just need a camera that the frame rate of the movies made matches with the frame rate on YouTube when the movies are uploaded.
For exemplo... I remember that I recorded some videos on 30 fps or 60 fps, I don't know very well... But on YouTube the videos appeared as 50 fps or something like that...
And I'm recording videos for YouTube so it would be cool to upload on this site the movies with the same frame rate that I really choose record...
I'm planning to come back to a custom ROM because my phone isn't so fast and is being hot frequently... And also because I'm missing some new features...
Thank you so much.
Try Open Camera and A Better Camera as well.
