I have found that Sipdroid works but audio has poor low range audio. I tried Acrobits which has Sulawesi and aLaw but the audio doesn't sound any better and it also skips badly.
Anyone has a better idea of a better app

Video calls - android / pc

Hello,
Do any of you know of an app that can make video calls between android and a pc? All I really wanted was to see the images from the pc, no need to send any from my desire.
I've been searching for this but can't find anything. There's only Apps like Fring but only works between mobiles.
Thanks

You could just use a VNC client?

Hi,
Thanks for your quick reply, but that's not really what I need. The pc is not mine. I just need to see some live streaming of my friends through their pc web cam in my desire.
I don't understand why, being android a Google OS, gtalk with video not supported. Makes no sense.

Sound Recorder

I accidentally found out that there is a sound recorder app in the Tab by it is kind of hidden. Anyone knows how to get it out to the surface, so it can be of good use?
Btw, I discover it when I try to upload a file from browser.

/system/app/SoundRecorder.apk => com.android.soundrecorder
It needs to be called from another application though, it's not a standalone app.
Thanks! But I can't seem to find an existing app that make use of the sound recorder (apart from video?).
Was hoping to be able to use it to record telephone conversation.

access the phone application for voip(sip)?

I want to use google's built in phone application for voip (sip). I know there are sip applications in the market but on a previous tablet I found they had poor sound quality and wanted to try it with the built in one. Is there a way to enable this similar to the camera app for nexus 7? Or a hidden way of running it?
I've been using groove IP with my gvoice number works pretty good especially with my Bluetooth headphones.

Are you rooted? If not so I think the apk posted will not work.

The better the plicacion stock as long as you have a cooked rom, usually all usually have that option, which is very valid and no cumbersome.
If having to install soware seconds.

Did you ever figure out a way to record it?
I had used this app on my evo 3d with no issues.
..now it doesnt work on the Galaxy s4...records my voice only..
just wondering if you figured it out?
Using "another call recorder" on 9505 stock not rooted. Works flawlessly just have to set outgoing delay above 0. Recording via bt headset also works perfectly.
Slig, searched for that in google Play without any luck. Do you have a link?
Thank you in advance.

Thanks.
What are your settings for:
Recording format:
and
Audio Source:
defaults: 3gp and voice_call
The only setting in recording i've changed is that delay. I've set it to value of 2. When it was zero outgoing recording was failing from time to time.
I'm using this app in auto recording mode with few numbers excluded. My save folder is located on sd card.

Followed your exact instructions...doesnt work.
I made a few calls and it said it was recording. Now each recording is exactly 641 bytes and cannot be opened (the built in player opens and shuts right down), tried other media players and accessed the recording in the ACR folder without any luck as well...;. I'm on T-mobile service but i dont think it matters.... weird...
I downloaded version version 4.3 from the market. not sure which one you are using.
I have version 4.3 from the market. Don't know why it behaves so weird in your case. My rom version is MEA. There is also program called Galaxy Call Recorder which worked on my phone. Maybe try this one.
My phone isnt rooted....
I'm using this app now thanks to Slig.. works reliably with my unrooted S4

Not sure what phone you are using it on but it does NOT work on the galaxy s4.in fact each output file is 641bytes (even though the recording times differ) and EStrong audio player cannot even open them

Is there any way to make notification sounds louder on stock ROM?

Hi I've only had my nexus 4 for a few days and I love it. The only problem I have is that I struggle to hear SMS messages. The phone is very loud for calls but not for messages. Is there an app or setting that I can change to fix this? I'm on stock ROM atm.
Any help would be appreciated.

You need to be rooted to increase volume levels with a mod bro. You might look here if this helps https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.liquidsoft.entertainment.volume.booster&hl=nl.
Another non root way is to download louder notification sounds and have a file manager app. To change sound go to sound in settings and use the file manger app just once in the pop up and find the notification sound you downloaded in the download folder of your SD partition.
Hi guys thanks for the replies. I've found an app that let's you browse tones and then set them from within the app. For anyone interested its called ZEDGE and is available on the play store.
