Hey everyone, I've currently been using a Mytouch 3g and well I need a phone with a keyboard lol I just like the faster response keyboard phones have. So I was wondering which would be a better buy if I wanted a phone with a keyboard that operates on android....
morola cliq G1 or (??) if there's another one that runs android?
Also if I did decide to get the cliq, would i be able to still rom it like i did my MT3G?
thanks for your help
For T-Mobile There is also the Behold 2. I don't know if you will still be able to flash roms. You don't be able to flash roms from this site because this is for htc phones. You are going to have to find another forum. I don't know if you will be able to find ROM's of such high quality that you will find here, however.
yeah that's what i figured, i just love having a phone with a keyboard. Is there anything else like the G1 that can still be rom'd
for t-mobile? No. The G1 and MyTouch are the only HTC devices for t-mobile with Android.
Ok so since the Nexus S is basically a Galaxy S, will it be possible to port the rom to the Vibrant? I think this will solve all our issues with the phone in a single sweep. This includes the Filesystem lag, GPS, Carrier and Samsung code ruining the experience etc...
lol i think some people be asking to get yelled at. there are two post on this in the GENERAL thread. good luck with a nice response though buddy

I've had a Vibrant since launch and basically am just fed up with it. Got my wife a MT4G for Xmas and it's a great phone. It just kept getting on my nerves as my phone constantly switched back and forth between edge and 3g in the house and hers was always on H. Also liked the Sense UI that it has. So I just ordered one.
So I had my old Vibrant rooted and flashed many roms on it but the process seems a bit different with the mytouch. Where should I start? Also which roms should I be looking at on here that still have versions of Sense installed. Not a huge fan of plain vanilla android. Also with the Vibrant I could flash different kernals by themselves over other roms, is that the case with the mytouch?
Thanks for the help.
What you need sounds like Themed version of Ice Glacier, look under Dev section and find Ice Glacier v1.1.6 but download "Themed" version as opposed to regular.

well, first you need to root your phone, and Id recommend using the method found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=834225
That's the method I used, and it worked like a charm for me.
Once you're rooted, then there are a lot of ROMs on the Development forum. If youre looking for sense, then Id say go with Iced Glacier (if you like the MySense found on the stock rom) or Evil's ports of the desire HD and Desire Z, as well as Gorilla's Desire HD port (if you like the Sense found on most other HTC phones). as for your kernel question, yes you can flash them over the ROMs, you dont have to use the one built into the ROM by any means. Just be careful that the kernel you flash is compatibile with your specific ROM, and follow all instructions completely. Hope all this helps as always, credits to the ROM and kernel creators, Im just an enthusiast trying to get the news out.

Can some developers here team up and port it to the epic? Many people who use the Epic love sense and would love to use it as a daily driver. Both these devices have almost identical hardware, so is it possible if someone could port this to the Epic?
Thanks
Its already being workd on by the dev who brought us miui rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=970325
I know about that.
I just don't think that the dev will be able to conquer porting the ROM alone, and he has very little time to dev and is working on miui, and he said until he is done with MIUI, he won't start on sense. I wonder if another team can continue his work. That would be great!
Hey everyone,
I have been using my HTC HD2 for quite some time now. Tried WM on it which i didnt like and xda helped me put android on it. Since then im loving my HD2. Its the first phone i liked more over time.
However its time to get a new phone And i need some help to make the perfect choice for my next phone. Im basically looking for something similar to the HTC HD2. A phone which u can tweak a lot. The tweaking is the main concern i have at the moment.
After doing some research i believe that the Samsung galaxy s3 and HTC one X are the closest to the HD2.
What are you guys thoughts on these 2 phones as a follow up and are they tweakable like the HD2? Are there any other phones im missing which can achieve the same?
Neither of those phones are currently tweakable as the hd2 nor will they ever will be. For most phones, you can only install android roms. You can try HTC sensation, galaxy s2, or evo 4g, which have a lot of android roms and activity on xda. Also consider galaxy nexus if you can get it since it has ics integration and a good buy at a discount price.
htc one x is a good choice.
No phone will be the same as the hd2
Sent from My Samsung Galaxy S2 running Paranoidandroid Rom.What else if not?=P
Waaa its so hard to make a choice
Go for something like the galaxy note!!! I would go with that or the s2 and use paranoid android rom as well,
