Hi,
I was reaching to my coat's pocket to pick up my phone and I think I accidentally hold the power button too much or something (honestly, don't know what I did) but my Vibrant now says Downloading....Do not turn off Target!!! with an Android icon on the screen.
I am running Nero 5 w/ voodoo. What did I do wrong? The power button does not seem to respond and I do not want to pull my battery.
Any advice?
IIRC you can just pull the battery to reboot. I'm pretty sure that's what I did last time I hit Download instead of Recovery on the power button menu.
Pull the battery or keep your finger on the power button for like 15 seconds. nothing bad will happen (unless it was really downloading someting) but doesn't sound like it is.

Thanks guys. Reboot did it.
I feel like a noob (I probably am)
I first got my wifi Xoom last week. It powered up fine that day, but the next time I used it was yesterday and I had to vul up and power to turn it on. The Xoom was stock and had about 70% charge. I rooted it last night but today I had to vol up and power to turn it on this morning. It has about 50%. To test if this occurs only after long downtime I turned it off and tried to turn it on. No go, had to vol up and power.
Is there anything I can do? The Xoom works fine otherwise but its annoying to power it up this way.

You have some app running that's freezing it/crashing it while sleeping. Try either a factory reset and see if it still happens or start uninstalling apps one at a time.
Is there a way to view error reporting or something before doing that? I checked Apps>management>running for 3rd party apps and uninstalled the one I know I had when all this started but still had to vol up and power to boot.
Hoping someone has a clue before a factory reset.
Just to verify, do you mean turn on or wake up? Like are you talking about pressing the power button after the xoom screen timeout has occured? Or do you mean, powering it completely down and then turning it back on?

Try this, go to Apps Drawer and select MY Apps, that will order the apps in the order they were installed
There are also apps like CatLog in the market that show you logs.

Turn on. Waking or rebooting are fine but powering down and then hitting the power on results in the flashing red light. Once or twice out of several attempts the Xoom powered on normally but most the time I need to vol up and power.

I tried getting rid of another early app but the only ones that were present during the first failed boot are Google Maps, Places, Latitude, etc.
I installed CatLog. What should I be seeing?
try holding the power button in longer bc if u just tap it it always will show the blinking red lights

Sorry I misunderstood I thought it was doing this while sleeping not when you had powered it off and wanted to power it back on. In that case, either you have a defective unit OR you just need to push the power button harder and hold it down - it takes 5-10 seconds of holding it for it to turn on. In your case, apps have nothing to do with it.
No idea what step it was but after a factory reset and reinstalling everything it seems like things are ok now. I was going to drain the battery and see if maybe it needed a full cycle but so far its booting up fine. Odd.

I just flashed MOAR rom on my phone a few days ago and everything was working perfectly then while at work I pulled my phone out of my pocket and noticed my case had slipped off and was holding the power button down. After fixing the case I tried to unlock my phone and nothing came up on my screen. I held down the power button and the only thing that happened was my LED indicator is flashing green rapidly and at different brightness. Then I pulled the battery and left it out of my phone for 2 hours and still the only thing that is happening is the LED. When I plug it into my computer without me hitting the button the LED is flashing. It wont boot into recovery and I don't want to send it in and them find a custom rom on it so any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am assuming it won't go into download mode either? Try holding the power button in for at least 30-40 seconds.

No, I've tried holding just the power button for a minute or trying to go into either download or recovery mode and got nothing.

Try the same thing with the charger plugged in.
"Try holding down the power button for 1 minute with the charger connected. If this doesn't present the screen, try holding the power button AND both volume buttons at the same time. This should bring up a menu. There should be an option for reboot or force reboot"

Thanks for trying to help, I've tried holding both volume and power button for a minute and nothing. After having it plugged in for a few minutes my battery started to get warm.

Just something I found while looking for answers. At least your battery is getting warm. That is better than the alternative.

if you did factory reset and problem is still there, there is probably hardware fault, go to repair shop
hi
i have this issue since this morning. maybe 3 or 4 freezes.
do you use edge screen features? i have enabled them yesterday and today have this problem. i think that could be a reason.
to fast restart your phone you have to hold down + home + power buttons and then click down button for reset.

No Im not using the edge screen and this method not work to restart the pbone even if I hold it to hours it can be restarted only when battery drained and the blue light stops linking which mean battery drained then I pluged it to charger then I can press power button and start it.
Wait for the battery to get fully discharged and then again charge it. It will start again. I am facing the same problem since some days and didnt get any solution for it. Does your phone heat up too?
Hi,
I slept last night with ~40% in my OP6T. When I woke up, the phone wont start anymore. I am rooted with the latest Magisk, and latest stock rom.
When I press the power power button, it doesnt even show me the screen where I have the bootloader warning. I've tried pressing the power key alone for 15 seconds, power + up volume for 15 seconds , power key + down volume for 15 seconds, power key + both volume keys for 15 seconds but nothing happens.
I just cannot get my screen to start:crying::crying::crying:
I have also tried connecting my phone to the laptop, I get a "safely remove OP6T" notification in the task bar, but my phone inst identified in the storage..
If anyone could help me, that would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks a lot

It's probably out of charge, happened to me and I just left it on charge for 15 minutes and then held the power button and it worked.

Hold pwr and up button for a couple of seconds.
So after 1000s of attempts, its started on its own (on the 1001th ) attempt when I held the vol up and pwr button. It wasnt a case of battery drain as I had only connected it to the system for 10 mins and the battery when it started was 53%.
Is there a way to find out how it tuned off ? some crash logs or something ?
Can an admin please close this thread ?
Yeah it seems like there's an issue with the phone loading up after it's went dead..and I've had that issue a few times where I had to play with it for an hour in order for it to finally load...I even knew it was dead and plugged it up to a charger and it would stay on the bootloader screen and I left it on the charger for an hour or so..and then held the <pwr><vol+> to shut it off and when I did all that I then powered it on and took the charging cable out and it still said it was low battery..so while on the unlocked bootloader screen it wasn't charging(weird)..so after fooling with it summore I finally got it to charge just random didn't do anything I hadn't previously done and all was good. But it seems like this only happens after it dies and I don't Kno if the unlocked bootloader is the issue or what but it's aggravating to have to fool with it for that long.
I think there is something wrong with your ROM.. Are you rooted? If I were you, I'd wipe the phone completely and install a new Rom, redoing the setup from scratch..
I have wiped and rooted with magisk and twrp recovery installed.. and I have zero issues in the current setup..now only when it has died did this seem to happen..oh I have wiped 3x because of bootloop and soft brick previously..so I don't think that is the solution (wipe and clean install)..just weird

I haven't tried this, but from what I've read, using the MSM tool is the only sure way to completely factory reset your phone.. Using anything else could leave remnants in the ROM causing problems..

For some reason my fastboot drivers are not working anymore, the MSM tool is not a option for me.
