Wow,
Do samsung have a QC dept at all?
yes replace if will be possible.
What causes that white spot? I have one but its extremely tiny. I have heard about the yellow tint.
Isn't that a smudge on the screen?

I have that as well! Only notice a part of the screen looks grey when on black background. Will Sammy still replace it even though I've rooted it before? I'll obviously flash it back to stock.

Solution... Maybe
k i have had this scenario before and it was mainly because of me flashing things that were not for my firmware version like flashing boot animation that was for 2.3.5 when my firmware is 2.3.6 and what i did was to reflash the custom rom i had like crisleko. The whole screen became white after that. Hope this helps!

I just noticed today that there is a bright line at the bottom of my screen. Tried changing wallpaper rebooting made no difference. Not sure if its a burned line on the screen now. I have attached a screen shot, any suggestion or test method I can check would be greatly appreciated.

Lol can't see it which means its probably something wrong with your display
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
If it's the display itself that's having a problem, you need to take a pic of it using a camera. A screen shot is just a capture of what's being projected on the screen, not the screen itself.
I had the same problem after a screen replacement on my phone which I originally broke the screen on. I would suggested taking it back to the store for a replacement handset.

Don't think so, I feel your pain mate. Its a line of dead pixels on mine it was really bright then after a few days then typically after about 2 days it changed to a really really faint line which was barely visible.

So I got a yellow triangle that I need to get rid off. Any suggestions? I'm worry about the counter where they may be able to tell that the phone is has been tempered. :-(

Hello,
I am eagrly waiting for JB OTA update.
For those of you, who already has it or flash it, do you still have pink spot presented?

Yup.
Can it be in the lens it self? As in a factory deficit? Because I don't have that problem

If OP means with pink spot....the reddish hue in the middle of pictures....I have it too. Its driving me nuts. The pictures look axceptionally good....but in the middle there is a circular patch where the tones are slightly red. Its very slight effect...You have to really "search" for it. But as I have seen it now...I cannot NOT focus on it.
I don't have it.
Try take a picture on totally white background and you will notice the pink spot.

It's JELLY BEAN - B......E......A......N!
With all the rage going on about Jelly Bean at the moment you'd at least think we'd all get the name correct?
Phil
My opinion:
Its presented in all devices. Those of you who didnt have HTC HD2 where the problems started dont know what we are talking about. You must have specific condition for it. Its simply there, problably, I am starting to belive it simply must be like that. Thats the way how the lens are working unfortunatelly. None of software updates removed it (however, it might be possible, because when you change white balance, it can decrease the pink spot a lot). I hoped that Jelly B E A N will do that.. (

Hello all,
Iv found a strange behaviour with the reboot of s4 i9500 octa version, while rebooting there is a thin white line on the top of the screen that flashes for a second, it has the width of the entire screen and is quite thin.
Steps to replicate
1.Hold power button
2.Select reboot
3.Then the closing samsung animation shows up
4.Then when the phone shows the model number detail
5. Just between the model number detail and the following samsung logo animation u would see the white line on top for a sec.
The trick is to focus on the top part of the screen from the samsung model details till the samsung logo animation
This is my 3rd s4 after replacement and it still has that line flashing.....need folks to check if this is a wide spread thing
Thanks for looking

Really, why is this a problem for you? You restart your phone often? And even if you do so, why you bothered by what presented on the screen?
This is the reason you replaced the phone 3 times?
Oh please dont take me wrong....thts just something I noticed so wanted to share....
And the last 2 phones had camera issue....full red noise when pictures were taken...

@snoopdog2006 I'm agree with you and confirmed 100% that it happens everytime I reboot from OS or Recovery. The white line appears for a sec that is the same as CRT off effect.

Its easy here to get a replacement so i went for it (I know 3 times it too many :cyclops: )
Why replace? That thing is most likely software issue.

Anybody an idea whether this is a display damage? Black appears not normal.

Black crush
Well, this is called 'black crush' or 'black clipping'. It is still there a little bit,but nothing serious. The first Note was horrible... Don't worry, nothing is wrong with the phone,it is a software issue, and (I think) it will be fixed soon.
Im very confused as it really distorts the display of the black.
In the settings the search field has a deep Black. Rest is more or less grey.
In the toggle menu the bottom bar has weird stripes.
It's not just a small issue. ...

You posted screen shots. No one can tell anything from those you need to take a picture of the problem using a camera. The phone's been out for over a month now. If what's happening to you were wide spread I assure you it would have been brought up (numerous times) by now. If whatever you're seeing was like that out of the box (before you loaded any apps) it's probably a h/w problem with your specific device.
I have the same issue too on my Note 3!
I'm from Singapore here.
I didn't notice that the pictures appear perfectly normal on other displays.
I did some shots with a camera.

Dave

Mine too. Isn't that supposed to be the way the display looks? Just kidding.
A display that looks like this isn't normal and if there were a lot of them people would be going nuts.
It's either something s/w related that's fried the graphics drivers or a h/w problem unique to specific phones. If it remains after a hard reset than it's h/w and the phone needs to be exchanged.
Tried the hardware reset but didn't change anything. Bad luck this time.....

That is really something wrong.
It suppose no strip at telco area.
Beside search bar, the rest bottom part is suppose black also not grey.
I believe your screen is defective.
I've factory-rested and it's the same.
Re-installing exactly the same J1 firmware (in Singapore it's the latest) via Odin also yeilds same result.
Another friend of mine is facing the same issue.
However, the ambience at the Samsung stores are so bright, and it's hard for the customer service officers to see
Well I'll see what Samsung After service Germany will say... the point is that the screen looks ok if you test the blue, green, red and black screen test under *#0*#. But during normal use I'm faced with the problems as shown above
I'll keep you updated.

Well, the worst thing happened, I dropped my i9500. I would rather die. Now there's a red line on my screen on the left side of screen. It dropped on its base (the battery side) yet, it affected the screen. It's static, stays, changes color according to the app I'm using. Like right now it's red on the keyboard, but kinda green on the chrome app. I'm sorry I don't know how to view screen shots, but I've attached two .png file.
My question, can I make this right, or do I have to take it to the Samsung people?
Oh man! I just viewed the screenshot from my computer, and I don't see any line. So, basically it's somewhere below the screen, where the software doesn't capture it in screenshots.
Send it in to Samsung
Just give it to the Samsung people if you still have warranty
Sent from my GT-I9505 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Unfortunately i think you cracked your display. Fortunately it still works. Screenshot doesn't capture it because it's physical. Not a software issue. I payed almost 200 euros to change my display. It's not covered by warranty

Dude, the screen is not broken. Something's physically disturbed from the inside. And anyways, here at my place, people are stupid, so they'll just change my screen for free, 'cause they think I got warranty.
