Before you tell me to use the search button i've been looking and trying out every sense rom there is and with every one of them there is something that's wrong. Now my real question is if any one could suggest a perfect sense rom. When I say perfect I mean good battery life and not laggy when switching through home screens.
I would be really grateful if someone did.
Thanks anyways!

Ok, I won't tell you to search.... but as this is a question..... I can tell you to post in Q & A next time.... and in my opinion, there is no perfect sense rom and never will be.... it can't be compiled just for our devices as their is no source code.... so it can never be perfect for our devices..... and another opinion of mine... sense sucks.... if you want sense so bad, but want a good working rom... do it this way.... install hyperdroid cm7..... install he launcher and choose the sense look in it.... then install fancy widget and choose the sense like clock theme.... then their, you have a perfectly working build that looks like sense......

Have you tried HE launcher off the market? That combined with the fancy widget that's modified to look like the sense clock really looks a lot like sense.
Not a big fan of Sense myself, but I agree its Coredroid..the last version I tried was v1.5 it was really good, free of most issues and incidentally my last sense build...After that its CM7 all the way, with some time for MIUI in between which is also quite impressive but when it comes to raw speed nothing beats cm7/aosp builds...
I recommend imilka's Desire HD.
The only disadvantage is slow booting.

Hi,
Without repeating what diesburg has said, I am using since two month boyppc rom. The actual version on my hd2 is GB sense 2.3.4 v25. For information it is not htc sense but a look like called launcher pro (LP). It is enough similar to make my day and the batterie last for about 2 days, good speed and bug free.
The other thing that I like is the easy installation
I can honestly recommend any rom based on Sense 3.0. Practically no problems, no FC, no reboots, and I have not noticed any graphical bugs. 300MB free ram after boots and Everything works like a charm. I almost forgot to add that cam records in 720p
But for me the fastest and best performing Froyo Sense ROM is IMilka's Inc. with tytung_r10 kernel for Qaliza_DHD, i tried this Rom on CLK and is the fastest for me and i think that if you looking perfect sense rom you should try this combination.
If you decide to go down the route of installing a fancy widget clock, try to find version 1.3.0 as its the most sense-like clock. if I find a link for it i'll pop it in here.
EDIT: http://www.filesonic.com/file/12961909/Fancy_Widget_1.3.0.apk
Wait camera records in 720p!? Just like in windows phone 7. OK try it out.

I actually ended up udi. Get launched pro with fancy widget and using theme manager with complete sense theme. I also got the sense dock and the sense wallpaper.
Do. Thanks for all the suggestions and help!!!

The thing about CLK is that its too complicated to install, I've tried once but failed.. I installed the rom in CWM and rebooted and it comes back to the white text and black background.....
i have tried alot of sense build...
i think rafdroid is great...
this build have more option to customize n stable support all app's that i used when that apps can't run on another sense build..
Takes a bit of learning but once you get past that you don't go back.

I tried an aosp rom the other day, Ruby. It isn't quite stable yet (random reboots throughout the day) but its an interesting change of pace from a sense-based rom. The super smooth scrolling is really nice too!
In the end I went back to SRV due to the instability, but I made a nandroid in case a more stable update is released.

Whoa that sense clock is stunningly close to the official! Could you tell me the name of that widget? I've tried fancy widget (rides too high and close to the notification bar) and Weather & Toggle Widget (background cuts off at the bottom too short). Both are similar but not faithful to the original.. the one in your screencap looks identical to the original HTC one, minus the color scheme of course.

This is correct. You need to unzip it with winzip. Go to the \res\drawable-hdpi and edit the .png files that you want a different color. Then you need to use winzip and zip it as a .apk file then have it digitally signed and then zipalign it.

I have a nandroid of Virtuous 2.7 on my phone. Once I went Vanilla it's hard to go back to a Sense ROM. I think I'm going to give CM6 a run, but I have heard a lot about the instablility of AOSP ROMs and that kind of scares me. SkyRaider is rock solid, and would hate to go to something that's not stable.
Redemption
I've bee pretty happy with the Redemption Rom. Why?
Depending on what you want, stock app-wise, it's easily customizable as far as adding/removing what you want. Same story with the 'value added' goodies Lou bakes into the ROM itself. He included several apps in the load that I didn't know I would want or use, until I tried them - now they seem essential to any ROM, imho.
It's easily customizable via the links he provides in the main thread, and there's elements you can easily add/remove based on where he put them in the ROM itself.
For me, this one's my daily, and if you like sense, there's a menu of tweaks/options you can do with this ROM to make it all your own.
Agreed, Redemption is a great one. SR Vanilla, and Virtuous are also great. I'm loving Redemption though, great goodies, smooth, plus love the lock screen and notification window.
I do love SR's boot animation, with the Androids popping up...

The only thing I have against RR, (minor, to be sure), is the lack of support in ROM manager. I'm lazy, sometimes, and like to check for updates through it or am at work and don't want to bother with a mobile browser. I'm currently switching between Virtuous 3.0.1 and Shadow ROM.

I agree. Ive been through rom manager and flashed them all. Redemption is a great rom.
Redemption 2.0.3. king kernel oc-uv #5. incredible revolution theme, rosie removed. Launcher pro. Prepare for glory splash. Various boot animations.
Recently I joined here again and I've seen some new ROMs with the comming of the official FroYo. I've been here for a while looking for some Froyo Sense ROM and they all look really nice. I've been running Wildpuzzle after CM but it's a bit slow and now I'm searching a better one (if it's possible).
Which Sense ROM would you highly recommend?
Thanks for all and sorry for my bad english!!
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App
All Sense ROM's will be slower than AOSP (Non-Sense) ROM's because Sense requires a lot of processing power. You can look at Sunaabh as an alternative to WildPuzzle but I doubt it will be as fast as CyanogenMod.
For me personally, I use WildPuzzle because I like to keep a Sense ROM, and, Live Wallpapers in Sense = Win for me.
I haven't tried any others, but WildPuzzle 0.7 seems very good currently, and not too slow at all, specially if you overclock it.
wildpuzzle v8.0 is the best Rom .
Im using wildpuzzle...
But
For me cyanogen is better, too bad camera recording and radio is not working and some other bugs.
Thats the only reason why im on wildpuzzle.

If you're looking for something that is reliable and fairly close to stock, just tweaked here and there, I'd say Sunaabh.
If you want a more tweakable and enhanced version of Sense then head over to Wildpuzzle. Can't really go wrong with that one.
I'd recommend trying out an AOSP ROM with a different launcher, like Launcher Pro, if you're game; the phone tends to be a lot smoother that way.

Nothing. Some people do get crashes and instability using it though. Although I have been using the inbuilt ADW Launcher with CM7 since I have been using it, and, there have been no issues.
Also, for people who have spent time with both launchers, they are of the opinion that LP offers more features, and, is more stable.
hm ok...i've been using ADW on wildfire and X10 and 0 crashes or problems...

My buddy has this phone and wants these toggles on the drop down menu like in the pic attached. He is running stock ROM rooted.
I think a good place to start would be... where did you get the pic?

He can a) install a widget that has notification options, b) install a custom ROM that has it included, or c) ok there were only two options that I know of.

I don't know that for sure...just giving you options.
Here's what Sense 2.1 looks like:
any ROM that has notification toggles does so with the same properties as a widget. There are several in the market that would give you that functionality without changing roms.
Cm7 has it. Not same icon styles but it has it.

To be honest, Sense wasn't too bad. I might switch to a Sense Rom from CM7. Especially when you read that Sense works more efficiently on HTC phones (despite the large size).

I am currently using Dungphps Sense 3.0 Rom and I'll admit that at first it was really laggy and had a bunch of issues but it has progressively gotten much better. Currently the V2.3 Magldr Rom by Dungphp is awesome. It might be worth a check if your interested in making a change

What exactly do you mean by 'slow'? I've found that froyo/sense ROMs run a lot smoother than CM7 ROMs. They seem to flow much better, for example when opening switching homescreens or opening previews, the transition is much more smooth than on typhoon, and that's from experience with MCCM's HD on SD, which should be slower. I get much more RAM on CM7 and apps etc open a LOT faster though, so I think I'll stick with it until a stable Gingerbread/sense rom is released. I'm also tempted to try MIUI, although I hate the launcher.

Sense uses a lot of memory (RAM), so for good performance a good memory manager is necessary. I use that and a start-up manager to control what programs run in the back ground.
Most programs don't need to run in the back ground, they will start-up when executed.

This is not a Sense 3.0 Rom
So I'm really thinking about installing cm7 as I'm tired of the sad battery life on the MT4G, however, I'm finding it somewhat difficult to weigh the other pros and cons of switching from stock. There are plenty of threads and videos on how to do this, and plenty that talk about speed, but that doesn't really help answer my questions about functionality unfortunately.
Here's the thing: There are certain things in the stock rom that I don't want to lose in the process and I can't seem to figure out what I will gain and lose by switching.
Here's what I know so far about switching:
- I will have a longer battery life.
- I will lose the genius button functionality, but I can install that separately, so no big deal. I use this for texting handsfree while driving - just connect an audio cable to my stereo.
- The bloat is gone.
Here's what I can't figure out:
- How does the homescreen function without sense? Does it look the same? Do I maintain the built in widget sets?
- Do I lose the quick settings option from the status bar?
- Will my phone still wake using the trackpad?
- Will all the major abilities and apps function normally? Specifically messaging, Google browser, long press shortcuts (ie send link to: X using Y app), alarms, camera, GPS?
Opinions, advice?
TMO MT4G unlocked/rooted with Wind Mobile, running 2.3.4 (pre security update)
I suggest to move to one of the new non-T-Mobile Sense versions. Sense 3 or 3.5.
You'll retain the functionality that you want, gain some new one, most likely gain battery life, and won't lose the good sides of Sense that you're used to (widgets etc).
In the worst case, it's just a simple trial and error process - you can try different ROMs, and if you decide that stock suited you better than everything - you'll be able to install it, and probably even tweaked and customizable version of it.
I didn't know that there was such a thing. I don't mind losing the ”prettiness” of sense, I just need the functionality to be there.
Any rom names off the top of your head that I can look for?

Here's what I can't figure out:
- How does the homescreen function without sense? I don't even get this question. Does it look the same? Different types of Android look different from one another. Sense has its look. TouchWiz has its. Vanilla Android has its. Do I maintain the built in widget sets? If you go with another Sense ROM, then yes, you will most likely have more sense most ROM here now are 3.0 or 3.5.
- Do I lose the quick settings option from the status bar? In most of the aftermarket ROMs, you will gain more quick settings. Read about the ROMs offered here.
- Will my phone still wake using the trackpad? Most of the ROMs have incorporated this into the build.
- Will all the major abilities and apps function normally? Apps? Yes. Abilities? Depends on the ROM. Some have a few bugs, others don't. Camera seems to be a big issues on this aftermarket sense ROMs, but there's usually a fix somewhere in the thread for that ROM. Specifically messaging, Google browser, long press shortcuts (ie send link to: X using Y app), alarms, camera, GPS?
Opinions, advice? After market ROMs are smoother than stock ROMs and obviously have better battery life as you know. They have much more that you can customize depending on the ROM. After market ROMs are ALWAYS better than stock. So, have fun choosing. Personally, I'm on Core Droid.
