after having tried in vain to update for a whole week, under windows 7 (x32 or x 64), i successfully updated today under windows xp via kies, to gingerbread.xxjvo. I have a locked phone, orange ro, csc code:xeu.

he has csc XEU . Romania has ORO for Orange , Hat for Samsung romania , CNX for Vodafone Ro , COA ( Cosmote Romania , Orange , Vodafone ). He has done some reg hack .

i wonder when samsung kies will update for indonesia
1. phone was 'xxjpy' and csc was 'kor' from former kies update to froyo 2.2.1 ,using indeed a registry hack ,
it was still posiible
2. after the update to froyo I changed csc to 'xeu' using : *#272*imei#, phone still locked
3. as soon as uk update (xeu) was present, it was visible under kies but was impossible to perform under
windows 7
4. I could perform it presently with no registry hack under windows xp
It's nothing else than the UK XEU update which is possible for some weeks now. Nothing to see with Romania.

Probably not as nobody saves the original .
Try stock Froyo and spoof details to update after .

Hello. I live in Turkey and still no update for us.
So i suppose i can change CSC and get official update from kies.
How can i change CSC to UK ?
After i changed i suppose i will get official uk updates. But would this cause any problem since i live in turkey and uses different service providers

You will need the full UK ROM from Sammobiles or checkfus.
This may give you the Korean CSC, if it does you will need to download the CSC changer for SGS/2/3 from the market and select BTU, this will wipe your data though.

The Turkish ROM contains the CSC for Turkey only I believe, you need to flash the latest ICS from Sammobiles or checkfus and flash through Odin, then change the CSC.
Btw the English ROM is BTU
and another Btw, we haven't got JB for unbranded devices in UK yet, only O2 and Three carrier branded.

so which country is my phone right now ?
I don't know the sales code but if you Google Samsung sales code ATO you will be able to find out.
But because you bought it front Turkey there's a 99% chance ATO is Turkey. If you want the English firmware you needs BTU then change the CSC to BTU (English firmware has a few CSCs included)

Unless you have the full correct HIDSWVER codes phone will not update .
Solution download stock firmware and flash via \ODIN .

Hi. Just a bit confused about my CSC. Currently my phone is on AP: I9505XXUEMKF with CSC: I9505BTUEMK5. As far as I was aware, this is an unbranded CSC for the UK and Ireland? (I am in Ireland). Now my phone was locked to a network but I got it unlocked and the CSC is now this. According to Sammobile, the latest firmware for BTU is I9505XXUENAA but when I connect my phone to kies, it says i have the latest update? Am I missing something big here?

1. The CSC appears close to ur firmware in Kies 3. Like in the 1st pic the CSC is XEU.
2. I9505XXUENAA no is an official update recognized by Kies how u can see in the 2nd pic. Kies 3 recognize that u have the latest update installed. If you want update ur phone by Kies you will have to wait new official update or u will have to use ODIN for install I9505XXUENAA otherways (SamMobile).
I tried that csc the other night, and it loads the Austria/Switzerland stuff on my phone by default......very useful here in the uk.
There is option to select uk/btu but it resets the phone, so Im not spending 3 hours setting up my phone.
Oh, and the mobile data speed seems so crap on that modem compared to mk9....

Yes normally.
- Branded phones have to have custom firmware (coz they install their own apps/mods/rebuilts)
- Unbranded handsets can apply new firmware as soon as Samsung releases it (without changes).
Will it break OTA and Kies firmware recognition and updates after flashing from a stock German Vodafone carrier rom G900FXXU1BNL9 to UK unbranded G900FXXU1BOD3?
I've had that issue with an S1 before, but it didn't really matter as it was out of warranty.
EDIT: I think I have a semi answer if I change the CSC via the rom as I did with my S1 it disables OTA and Kies, but is it fully restored when the original CSC is restored?
