Hey!
I've just bought a locked/branded Omnia 7 on T-Mobile UK... but running into the 'get media content now' loop when receiving MMS - Oddly, I can send picture messages to myself and they send and receive fine, but if somebody else sends me them, I get the media content link which changes to 'getting media content...' when tapped, but then goes back to 'get media content now' about 30 seconds later.
anyone else having the same issue? I tried the samsung network app in the marketplace, but as the phone's locked i can't change any settings.
Pleaaasseee help!!!

arghh, going crazy here. Ive got the settings of the site and checked them and checked again.
I can send mms pictures fine, but i receive an mms goto "download" i get little box next to the gprs logo saying "recieving" for about 3 seconds then nothing. No picture displayed
Anybody got any ideas?
I've similar problem......i can send mms messages to myself & others but can not receive any body elses....
The problem could be that the file isn't a standard file that your PDA uses. I have problems when people send me video clips and because 'out the box' my XDAIIi doesn't support MP4 files (even though i've using TCPMP which will run that file) the mms won't properly download. It's as if it's been rejected, maybe by my phone or on the O2 side??
I don't know if anyone else has encountered this problem, but it seems to me my SMS/MMS manager is messed up. I had a SMS conversation with 2 contacts and they received all my messages at once, 3 times.. I also received several errors at once "message could not be delivered, stored as concept" (needed to press 10 times OK). I received a MMS but couldn't download it (mms worked perfect with my previous phone). I sent 3 MMS's, but only the first one was received. When I try to open "sent items" my manager "blocks" (and does weird things when I keep scrolling down), but I can go back to the other folders. Is it normal that every message I sent is stored in Outbox?
Another q, how can I display "time" in my topbar? I know it was possible with my P3600, but since HTC Home it's a bit difficult to find this (non-existing) option.
Thanks.
I don't have this problem with my Snap - I have an unlocked HTC-branded device (not obtained from a network provider), OS details as per my signature. You?
To get the clock to show in the Windows Mobile Standard icon bar you need ClockOnTop.exe - there's no facility to put the time and date there otherwise (as you could with Windows Mobile Professional).
See here.
Thanks, I got the clock installed now.
I also have an unbranded HTC device. ROM: 1.19.404.1, Radio: 3.45.25.30A.
So you can access "sent items" without a problem? And your outgoing messages, are they stored in "Outbox" or "Sent items"?
I did something wrong during the first setup of my device:
When asked for my internet connection, I pressed "cancel" since my internet provider wasn't listed. Therefore the setup of my device wasn't completed and that's why my message system was driving mad. Probably also the result of receiving a few messages before completion.
I performed a hard reset, chose a random provider and everything's working fine now!
SOLVED!

Well I had the same problem and it was really screwed up, my settings were listed and applied. That night it sent my messages time after time to all the contacts I sent messages to previously. I thought there would be something wrong in the network but my operator ensured me the messages originated from my device at a +- 10 minute pace.
I contacted HTC support in the Netherlands, I was told to do a hard reset and it was fixed. I recommend hard resetting all new Snap devices upon first use to eliminate this problem. I also received a message from a fellow new-Snap-owner who had the same problem, so watch out with this as it will tear up your phone bill!
My Snap is unlocked HTC branded and everything else seems perfectly fine!
Thanks for the clockontop tip btw!
ozone unlocked
does anyone know what i need to do to add mms settings or how to unlock these settings ,when i go into the settings everything is greyed out new edit etc,i have all of my other settings done internet etc im useing this on tmobile and i have wm 6.5 onit email me at [email protected] if anyone knows.
Hey!
Can you send SMS from your HD2?
I get no error message, but my messages are not sent, I get a warning sign on the right of the message bar. Also, when I long-press it, I have "Retry send" option.
Does anyone else have the same problem? Anyone knows how to fix it?
Same for me. Any ideas?
I can receive sms but cannot reply back
Huh, got it fixed myself
How-to:
1. Settings tab
2. Menu -> More
3. Connections
4. Advanced network
5. Scroll to the last tab (SMS Service)
6. Set it to GPRS Preferred or set it to GSM (it's probably set to GPRS now). If it's already set like that by default and not working, just try to switch it
7. Reboot
I was having a similar problem..
I was on the Tube and I pressed send sms... obviously I had no signal which was fine but when I got above ground I pressed retry and absolutely nothing happened. At all.
Had to reset in the end and delete the message in the outbox and start a fresh. Bloody annoying!!
Hi,
Although this thread is ancient, i see it's still open and named "SMS problems" which is exactly what I'm suffering from.
I just purchased my new HD2 this month and ever since I got it I can't send any SMS. Whenever I try to I get a message saying "unable to send message". I have set my message center number and everything but it still didn't work. I called the HTC help center and they told me I should install the hotfix from the HTC website but when I attempted that, it said it wasn't compatible with my device????
I upgraded my official ROM from 1.66.415.3 to xxxx.4 again using the updates from HTC main site. Again I got the same message.
Up till now I'm still not sure what the problem I have is, and have no clue what the hotfix really does!
Can anyone help me out in babysteps? I'm still new to this.
PS. I did look through the other forums for something similar. It seems everyone's sending texts but to the wrong people, lol.
HELP PLEASE!
I'm on a nightly build of cm7 (Not really sure which) and my mms seems to me acting up.
I can easily send pics, and I can recieve them from people, but at least one person will send me a picture and it will say "the media content was not delivered due to a picture resolution or message size restriction"
google tells me all about iphones on t-mobile having this issue, but that's not very helpful.
So.. as far as i know it's only happening with one person, I've edited my APN settings, rebooted, etc and its still being stupid. If it helps my friend is on sprint with the nexus s 4g (stock unrooted)
After searching the web over (and over) I could only find this for getting my LG C900 set up for more than 10 text recipients:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1291666
This method gets me past the "your provider only allows 10 text recipients" message. Now I'm getting "Can't send message. Try again" My MMS is working fine, able to send photos, data works great, but I'd really like to be able to send texts to a list of ~20 folks without having to get an app with another account to do so. My provider (US) is T-mobile. Anyone been down this path?
