My gmail has stopped syncing after the update to GB. Had this issue with the leaked GB too, but figured it would be fixed for the official release. It rarely tells me I have new emails unless I force it to sync on my own.
I don't get the constant sync icon like I had before on the leaks. I did a wipe after loading the pre rooted GB update patch over D2 bootstrapper. Still no dice.
Any ideas? Should I just clear my data for Google things in my application manager?

Is sync turned on in settings > accounts?

as the title says, i can receive but i can't send, and the receiving is intermittent. when i delete an email, it doesn't show deleted on the gmail app (where it shows the unread count in the header of the app, not talking about the notification bar here)...
if i delete an app or read it on my phone, it still shows unread and in the inbox of my gmail online. it's been happening since yesterday. i've done a factory reset, i've loaded recovery, at first i thought it was due to an app update (happened right before the issue started), but even after a recovery without that app updated, and deleting all apps showing update available, still happening.
i wonder if this is related with the VZW 3G issues others have been having?
Did you recently update anything? I had a similar issue but after a day or two gmail finally syncd back up. It happened when I flashed to the leaked ota and again when I went to 2.2 otherwise I suggest updating the gmail apk.

Just rooted, no roms or kernels yet. Only update coulda been an app of some kind. But Idk if that's it based on it kept happening even after rolling back to a backup I made a few days before these updates. Maybe a gmail provisioning issue? All other data seems to work, although sometimes slower than normal.

Clear Data
Hi,
This happens to me all the time when I am jumping between roms and using nandroid alot. Try going into Manage Applications, find the Gmail app and then delete the Data and Clear Cache. Ignore the warning about losing stuff since everything is synced. Then go back and open gmail and give it a few minutes to sync back up and you should be good to go.
Hope this helps.
Ooz
Absolutely fixed it. Thanks so much!

I am having an issue with my stock Gmail app not pushing my new emails. It just started NOT happening all of a sudden. Any suggestions? Still on stock rom 2.1
Thanks
Are you using any task killers?

i am having the exact same issue, it started today. the only way i can get my emails pushed to my phone is if i go to the gmail app and then do a refresh. i have to do this everytime i want to read my gmail on my phone. and i do not run any task killers. i am running bionix fusion. i have rebooted my phone, battery and sim pulls and nothing is fixing it.
ditto
I'm having the same problem.
Running:
-Bionix Fusion 1.1
-Project Core v1
I flashed the JI2 modem yesterday again to see if it would help improve my battery life. I'm not sure if that's the reason I'm not getting gmail pushed to my phone though.

Same here. NO task killers and have to refresh to get my emails. Only difference is I am on stock.
Had the same problem. Go to menu>applications>manage. Once there, press menu and change the filter to show all apps. Its set to 3rd Party by default. Then, find gmail, and gmail storage and clear the data and cache for both.
Open gmail and it should fix it.

Sorry, but it didn't work for me either. Bad thing is that there are no other good email apps for gmail. Maildroid is what I am currently using just so I can get notifications. One thing I forgot to mention was that it was working fine today before I downloaded Gmail notifier from the market. Deleted it, but it hasn't worked since.

Actually this fixed the issue for me - or so it seems so far.
I am having the same issue, and I also downloaded Gmail notifier from the market. I tried deleting the data and the cache as well, and so far no change.
I have stock JI6, never installed gmail notifier and it stopped working last night. Will try the cache method and report back.
Funny thing is that I have two gmail accounts. The one that's NOT tied to my phone user information works just fine and is getting the immediate push emails.
Same here no new emails are shown in the phone Gmail since last night
is Every other phone having the same problem now?

In this case, i would check settings on gmail server and in accounts & sync. Maybe try resetting the values just to deflag and reflag it.

Emails are pushing again automatically for me after deleting cache and temporary data.
Clear the cache/data and make sure sync is still on. Odd so many had the same issue at the same time though.
Still not working

still not working for me. i cleared the cache and made sure i have sync turned on. i have unchecked sync and rechecked it and still nothing.
I am having the same issue. Right after clearing the data and cache, I got notified of new mail, then it stopped working again.
I today updated Google Maps to version 5.0 from version 4.7. However after that update Google stopped syncing Google services like Mail, Contact etc. Pressing the sync button seems to do nothing.
I then went to applications settings and deleted cache etc for both Gmail & Mail storage. Then trying to sync gave a message that it was syncing but nothing happened. Even gtalk would just close on starting. I rebooted the phone to check if the problem goes away but it didn't help.
Finally I went to applications settings and deleted Maps update which went to stock version 4.1. and then finally rebooted my phone and voila sync started to work again.
So anybody can confirm this problem on Wildfire.

I think the problem is not with the update but running low on internal memory. When my memory is low and low memory alert shows on the statusbar syncing of google services stops.

No matter how many times I add my facebook to my fascinate on DL30, the contacts never load, nor do photos sync with contacts. Anyone have any luck?

Working 100% here. Factory/data reset before flashing and wiped dalvik cache before flashing, I assume?
Have more than 500 friends?
Some sync programs have a hard time with >500. Maybe sns does? Hmm.
Wipe data, dalvik, and try again mb?

I can attests to facebook not liking high latency, I travel and I am living in a 1x area and my SNS wont sync, but when I get in a 3g area it will.
Also try
Contacts > Menu > More > Display Options > Facebook account > check All Contacts
I used to have and HTC and it displays them automatically, with Samsung you have to tell it to, for the longest time I was wondering where my FB contacts were until I found that menu option
SNS has been less than reliable the few times I have actually used it, even on Eclair.

Also, I wouldn't be sweating this for like 24 hours.
I've had both sns and facebook for htc sense take at least over night to do its thing.
The watched pot never boils.
Calls and texts interrupt the sync if it's not on wifi anyway.
They don't follow the rules of every other network activity using the standard TCP stack. If it gets interrupted, it just quits

Having this problem too. It works on some Roms, not on others. There's not a twitter at all either. On Clean .6 dl30, btw.
Same problem for me. The Calender syncs, but not Contacts.
I've been having the same issue with Myspace and Twitter syncing using the SNS sync. I don't think it's directly related to the DL30 leak since I flashed back to DL09 a few times to make sure it wasn't related to Froyo. I think it just hates certain people for a few days at a time.
I only have FB photos sync'd, but it appears to be workin fine for me.
This was my first time rooting/rom and it has not bugs/issues yet.
I did follow the directions in the 'how to' thread exactly and started from a stock DL09.
Okay I did a full factory data reset (settings, privacy, factory data reset ) and now it works fine for facebook contacts, but now my long press search button does not bring up voice search.

Issue with contacts
Has anyone else had the back button stop working when in contacts?
It worked fine when I first got done with the update, then sometime after sync of facebook it stopped working. Not sure if that was the cause but something made it stop.
Install the official facebook app. Froyo supports push notifications which are handled by the app now.
I am a noob and I hate myself! Now that I got that out of the way, I have a rooted DX that has just updated to the pre-rooted GB .596 (2-part files). My first problem was a constant sync icon which was solved with a data reset. The next thing i noticed was that I am not getting email notifications. Data push settings are checked on. Does anyone have any ideas on what I could be doing wrong? I am using standard Yahoo email accounts.
Remove it and add the account again
