E:Can´t mount /cache/recovery/command
E:Can´t mount /cache/recovery/log
E:Can´t open /cache/recovery/log
E:Can´t mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E:Can´t open /cache/recovery/last_log
All the time the same error message
How did it happen? Answer
My Rom Manager stopped to work. But I have noticed it´s still there. Thinking I concluded it happens because I´ve downloaded and installed a lot of stuffs. So I did the backup and Rom Manager stills don´t appear. I wipe data/ factory reset, wipe cache partition and restore the backup one more time. Ok.
After I tried to reinstall cyanongenmod the system shows the message that I can´t install, updating and thing´s like that.
I know I did something newbie.
What did I try?
I tried to reinstall PD15IMG.zip and found all types of that image. The PD15 (stock) the system stopped the updating in the final. All the time it stops in the same moment! Really near to complete the updating. It pissed me off. I found another file (312 mb) that worked a lot of times, but it didn´t work for me.
My adb is working and I can manage a lot things using the computer. Actually, when I use PD15IMG.zip, after it´s stocked, I have to use Droid Explorer to bootloader in clockwork MOD recovery. So, I mount usb and manually move the PD15IMG.zip.
I´ve tried a lot of things and I can´t imagine how my phone still works, :'(
If someone help me, I invite to come to Brazil and stays in my house during the World Soccer Cup!
Which rooting method did you use?

If you have the good emmc than you may be able to recover.

Thanks for helping guys. I´m trying to find my emmc.
My rooting method was visionary, gfree, terminal, super user.
Is that right?
I used the guide to permanent root S-OFF that I found here in the wiki, for Mytouch 4g.
Actually, I have all the gfree backups.

I hate to always sound negative. There is a thread in the general section called "post your eMMC serial number" that basically lays out if you use the root.sh method and your phone doesn't root properly then chances are you have a bad eMMC. The information was there, and out in the open. It's not some big secret. But i know, i know hind sight is always 20/20. But with a lil research first will save alot of headache in the end.

Posted this at the CM camp, three days now no answer so hopefully you guys can help me out...
Ok so I decided to unroot (mytouch 32b original) and Im having a problem getting back to 1.6. I got down to 1.5 no problem by applying SAPPIMG but its been three days and no ota 1.6 so I decided to manually apply the update but all I get is
e:cant open/ cache/recovery/command
--Install from sdcard..
Finding update package..
Opening update package..
E:Cant open /sdcard/update.zip
(no such file or directory)
Installation aborted.
Wtf?
I tried to use re-flash sappimg three times now which works until I try to manually update the 1.6 update always witht the same result. I have searched and searched but havent found any posts with the same problem...
Ok Im seriously about to DROWN my dam phone at this point
I have no clue what the heck is going on, I followed a thread on here to unroot to "Legal" 1.6 from I dont remeber who and now my phone is all screwy! Ive tried three different sdcards as a last resort , hard reset twice, flashed sppimg three times and have as a last resort decided to root again just to say screw it and I CANT EVEN DO THAT NOW! I tried flashrec to flash Ra recovery.......didnt work, flash recovery is grayed out...tried a different sdcard since that one was partitioned, same thing.......tried clockwork, Nope! unsuccesful. I was able to use universal androot with success until I try to flash a recovery image and .....FAIL.
WTF?!
OK... Calm down :0)
Start with basics...
Post here ALL fastboot info.
Then which recovery you are trying to flash.
We can fix this together... you just need some guidance because you have many info mixed up.
I got your back :0)
hahaha, Ya I did finally calm down sorry about that... So i was able to root and finally flash a recovery but I still need to get this 1.6 thing figured out.

What rom do you have now?
i just went into my recovery menu to flash the new 2.2.1 ota and had this same error message at the bottom of the screen.
I doubt its anything to worry about but just incase im going to go ahead and
wipe system thru fastboot
reboot into recovery
wipe cache
wipe system again
flash sappimg
reboot
if after that i dont get a cache error, ill wait 24 hours for the 1.6 ota. if it doesnt come, ill go ahead and repeat those steps with the 1.6 update.zip files
It didn't work....
after doing some reading and searching, i think its the SAPPIMG.nbh file that is causing this error. im trying to find one from another source.
I tried two different sappimg files no luck. Hmm, I have the new 2.2 ota posted in the other thread now and ......O!M!G!!!!! I Couldnt be HAPPIER :------D This thing is UNBELEIVABLELY FAST!! I dont think Im gonna worry about the ota ill just keep it rooted for now.
After CM6=(FAIL) (sorry CM camp but I cant live with something as unstable as that but thanks for all the Devs work it was a nice preview ) I thought there was no hope for the mytouch but tmo and google did an insane job. This thing runs as fast as my buddies incredible now

First of all, wrong section. Moving to General. Next time your post will be trashed.
Secondly, your not bricked. Please check your definitions.
Third, try flashing the engineering bootloader via goldcard method and then fastboot flash recovery recovery.img (Amon_RaG or ClockworkMod for MyTouch/Ion).
Then power off your phone and hold the home button while powering it back on.
You should now have a recovery. From there try flashing the rom again. If it still doesn't appear to be doing anything then do a wipe and reflash.
Thanks for the tips, ill go for that right now.
sorry for the wrong section. Im wouldve put it in the Q&A section if there was one.
EDIT:
The only guide for a goldcard I've found requires a working phone. Mine doesnt work.

Ok Im blind, sorry.
But still have a bricked phone. and if the MT3g section is anything like the HD2 section. the only place to get answers is the DEV section.
Your going to have to find someone with an Android phone (any Android phone will work) to create the goldcard.
No need. If you got adb access you can flash the custom recovery from there (cm 6.1 has the SU and flash_image binaries).
Then simply load the custom recovery and fix your rom/OS (flash a new one or wipe or what ever).
Take a look at my guide (check my signature) and you will find all the steps needed. Just make sure you use G recovery and NOT H.
Good luck hunting!
To add to that, what radio are you using? You only gave us your hboot.

He stated that the rom won't load and he can't load the recovery. His spl is S-ON so from where I sit the goldcard method is his ONLY choice.
If that doesn't work then he's pretty much SOL.

If you have a ****ed spl/radio combo, then all this is for nothing and there are other issues to be fixed first!
Its kinda a difficult situation. I only have adb access for a little while while @ the Cm screen, then it goes away, and Im stuck at the CM screen. I have attemped the goldcard a couple times, but I dont have the correct card, and none of mine seem to work. Wife was shopping, and could only find SanDisk cards, and it didnt work.
Radio is 2.22.23.02
Im gonna attempt anything and everything I can think of to get it to work, but I might have to just run into town and find a damn Kingston card.
SanDisk cards work, got mine sitting in a box in my closet from where I rooted my phone. It may be a procedure that's wrong, not the SD card.
Ok well I managed to get the goldcard made, but when I get into HBOOT, it scans the card and states: no image or wrong image for the sappimg.zip.
file is @ the root of my sdcard, and wont read it, yet when I dont have the goldcard setup, it reads the file just fine. same exact file.

Its not. I've managed to get 2 goldcards succefully made, verified that multiple times, but it just doesnt work. It will not read the file from the SDcard.
I can put the same file on my sdcard from my HD2 and it will read it no problem.
I might play around with it more, but for now, Im calling it a brick.
Just to make sure, have you tried downloading the sappimg file again?

Yea, I've got 3 or 4 different ones on my PC, tried all, none work. It reads the sdcard and just passes it by.
Im really stumped. Followed the goldcard method to a "T" with 4 cards, 2 actually succeed in the proccess, but niether will get the sappimg.zip to read.
After installing the card into the phone and, attempting the Hboot, the HEX gets changed on the card also, just a few values, nothing exteme
IDK if thats normal or what, but it happens.
I don't think it should change anything so that may be your problem. I'm pretty sure I looked at mine after using it and it was the same. Weird.
well last resort, gonna turn my 8gb class 6 sdcard for my HD2 into a goldcard, and check.
after putting the sappimg on the sdcard w/o formating, goldcard or anything, the MT reads the sappimg, and attempts, but gets the error, of course. So im attempting the goldcard right now.
UPDATE:
It worked, got eng SPL on the phone, figured I would just follow CM guide for rooting to verify that it will work. but Im stuck:
# Once it finishes flashing, it should ask you to reboot. Reboot and let it load to the new "htc Magic" boot screen.
# Chances are at this point that the phone will not successfully boot. THIS IS NORMAL. Simply remove and re-insert the battery, as we're not done yet!
# Download the following zip file (the stock myTouch SPL and Radio) and extract it: [1]
# Copy the two files inside the zip to the root of your SD Card
# Take the latest Amon_RA recovery you downloaded earlier and copy it to the root of your SD Card.
# Download terminal emulator from the market and run the following commands:
flash_image flash radio /sdcard/radio.img
flash_image flash hboot /sdcard/hboot_7201A_1.33.0013G_091021.nb0

Hi,
New to all this. Brother rooted phone for me. Cant get flash_image to work. says not found. Phone it HTC Magic 32A s-on (does it have to be s-off).
Downloaded all the ADB, SDK stuff but even following walkthrough cant quite get it figured. Want to put Cyanogen on phone.
Thought ClockworkMod would be easiest option but forums say not to use for a magic..
Any help, suggestions?
Thanks

Follow my guide(check my signature)..
Jusk skip the rooting part..
The fastboot commander says cant use if not s-off. im s-on.
Now when I flash_image is says 'not enough space on device'
ARGH
Move it to system....
Just remember to mount as read/write first...
Search within the same thread and you shall it the answer :0)
Thanks heaps, got past that step. Installed Cyanogen but now stuck in boot loop. Get to initial Vodafone screen then reboots, but i can still boot into revocery.

OMG. No one knows what to do for this?
Is usb debugging enabled?
Is the chmod correct?
Have you done the preceding steps correctly?
Thanks for your response. Debugging is enabled. I believe chmod is correct. I was going to say I believe all the steps were done correctly as I wasn't getting errors.
I asked before a few times, if the main version is just the number relating to the rom your installing correct? I'm using 1.34.666.1. No one answered and I figured it was. I don't remember doing the misc version installation but I have the files, so I guess I did. I'll try again from there. Otherwise, yes, I think I did correctly.
Hmm. I'm getting an error right before the exit command in the bunch of code relating to the main version being higher than 1.19.

I'm using the misc_version file pack. I'll look around and try to fix this.

I've tried plenty of methods to root it. . .
1. Gold Card Method : I have 2 SD Cards, Tried them both same result.
( The Fastboot doesn't detect the sappimg.zip, AT ALL, i've tried more than 1 sappimg )
2. One Click Root : Androot
I tried it before i read the support logs, it doesn't suppose 2.2.1 and I've tried all the ways i could find to "Down Grade" my Android but no luck since the sappimg doesn't detect.
(Side Note: My recovery stuff doesn't work at all, i push all buttons and it only moves the selected bar, when i try to restore factory/wipe data/reboot device NOTHING!)
Thanks in Advance.
Gingerbreak or superoneclick.
Androot was patched in 2.1 I think. Wont work.
If gingerbreak or superoneclick root fail to install superuser.apk, either free some space on /system (shell root with superoneclick, adb shell into the phone, delete stuff) or try to install it from the market.
And it should be sappimg.nbh instead of sappimg.zip.

I rooted it with gingerbreak, but I have problem .... rom manager did not open the recovery ...then I tried superoneclick, but I pressed shell root by mistake , them I rooted it with supeoneclick, but and I am getting error when supeoneclick test su.
I tried gingerbreak once again and it worked fine, but after reboot superuser.apk is not installed. I installed it from market and also installed busybox, but root is not working...it does not give root privilegies
I have factory froyo 2.2.1. Can you guide me how and which stuff I can delete to free some space in system so superuser get to work.
I checked internal memory in settings and there are still 260MB free. but I do see the message in superoneclick that apk are not installing because there is not free space
ur help will be appreciated
