Is it possible to share Internet connection which is acquired over WiFi to a computer using BT or USB connection. This way a phone could be used as a mean of wireless connection for computers which don't have Wlan card!
this should do it:

You can also take a look at WMWifiRouter
http://global.wmwifirouter.com/features/
It supports USB->WiFi and WiFi->USB.
I have a router and i want to connect my htc touch/elf via wireless LAN.. My PC is also connected by it via Ethernet.. And router can connect up-to 4 LAN.. So, I was thinking to connect my Htc with wireless LAN.. IS it possible??
I thought HTC Touch Elf have WIFI. Just turn on the WIFI, set the password if your router have password, and you are connected. Please correct me if you are asking for different kind of connection.

I'm confused? You state in your original post your router has wireless lan, and now that it doesn't?
Are each not the same? Can your phone detect your network at all? What router do you have?
I think he mean that his router has no W-Lan but his PC has it.
So he has to connect the PC with a Lan-Cable to the router and make a ad-hoc connection with his mobile.
Then he can use the w-lan when the PC is turned on.
correct me when iam wrong

Yeah! that's wat i want..
Then make a W-Lan Ad-Hoc connection from you PC.
Turn your W-Lan-mode on your mobile "on" and connect to the Ad-Hoc.
Thats it.
use Virtual Access Point software but it is shareware ..
but cracked is available
Why you use a extra software for that ?

for sure you can connect...
just configure your router by entering config menu and setup ssid and network type....
config your wireless on your WM and connect it...
you cant connect coz probably you have hidden network on your router or it's not configured....
thats all
Hello!
I'm using Blackstone with WM6.5.3 and I sync by USB cable to my WinXP computer.
When connected I browse on WM using internet LAN connection of my PC.
Now I installed Froyo 2.2 on my Blackstone.
Is possible to connect by USB cable and use PC internet connection, instead of 3G connection?
thanks
No, you can't. WiFi works, though.
ok, thanks

Seeing as I don't have a router, I set up an ad-hoc network to share internet on my WM, which works fine. But Android can't see Ad-hoc networks.
Windows 7 can create full access points instead of an hoc networks, but I'm stuck with Vista.
Any ideas?
Hey guys,
I was thinking if there is possibility to share internet connection from my laptop to my HD 2 running Android 2.2. I remember my HD2 when connected to ActiveSync through USB it used laptop's internet.
I also tried to set up an ad-hoc network, HD2 sees it but when I try to connect it says "Disconnected", connecting to other wifi networks is no problem.
My laptop is running Vista64
Any ideas? Thanks for your help, mates!
Hi I have no router with internet connected through ethernet into my laptop which also has wifi.
I successfully made an ad hoc network with my laptop but when I tried to connect my Epic via wifi running SRF 1.2 it could not recognize it.
Any solutions?

Bump, I have the exact same question. I am trying to ad-hoc to my laptop so I can use the boxee remote without a router. I found this thread and am wondering if it would work with my phone without causing any issues
