In first call after reset the speaker doesn't work. Somebody hears me but I can't hear him. In second call everything is ok. I reset phone only once or twice a week but it is really annoying. Does anyone have a similar problem?
2.2.2 fixed this bug
just my curiosity: why do you reset your phone once or twice a week?
Just enable and disable the speaker once during the first call and everything should be perfect.

It turns off when battery runs out and sometimes(as today) apps with bugs freeze phone and it reset. I mean reset as reboot.
I have the same problem!

Hi,
I know this post is already old but I've been experiencing the same bug for two days. I have my i9000 since july 2010 and never had this bug before.
I'm running XXJQ3 with CFROOT only.
Does anybody have an idea?
FAQ on any problem like that is to Factory Reset the phone first .
jje
in my case.. i just restarted my phone..
Ok, restarting the phone works but I don't want to restart it every two days
I've done a factory reset two weeks ago, I will try again.
My mate had same problem, restart fixed it,, if that dont work maybe remove battery for 10 mins then give it a shot
It Could be my provider problem, but just wanted to make sure.
Is anyone having failed attempts at calling , where it continues to keep ending the call every time u press talk?
Yep. When that happens nothing works. Texts. Email. Everything. Reset fixes it.

Happened to me first time today, had phone since launch.
Flashed my first customer ROM yesterday (CM7) and thought it might be that. Only a reboot fixed it, not even switching to Airplane mode.
How often does it happen to you guys?

it started happening to me recently, and quite often.
i really dislike pressing call over and over for it to keep failing.
I thought it was my carrier too, but normally a reboot fixes everything!
That was happening to me quite a lot. During a phone call it would drop the call but had full 3g service. Nothing was working, calls, internet, emails, google chat.
Hasn't happened since I did a factory reset. It's a pain in the arse to keep entering all the info again but it hasn't done it since.
I guess it a temporary solution.
It happens to me as well.
Happens to me too. I'm not sure if it's just the Nexus S since it happened pretty often on my Nexus One. I use Google Voice with all calls and I think that that may be the culprit.
It may have started with the 3.3.2 update for me.
It needs a reboot to fix it. Really annoying.
This happened to me yesterday. At first I was like wtf is going on here, then I rebooted the phone.
Two days ago I un-installed the e-bay app as I noticed it started up all the time by itself, and since doing so have not had any calls dropping out.
Ok heres one for you guys!
Theres been multiple times i've been asked why I didnt answer my phone when people called, but on my phone it has not rung nor does it show a missed call. My GF just called and said she called a few minutes prior but i didnt pick up. She knew i mentioned this problem so she called again and i got it.
I REALLY dont like this bug......
Calls drop with 2.3. 3 too.
Dial..., nothing. Dial..., nothing.... sometimes it takes multiple attempts, with mane green bars.

Hey there. You need to get the phone replaced.
I had this problem and reset the phone, took battery out, factory reset etc. No luck.
O2 took it back and "fixed it" saying "flashing the firmware is always recommended". Came back working then a week later it went again. All in call volume gone but games and video were fine.
Sent it back to O2 and got a call from the engineer saying No Fault Found so I explained the issue and again got the phone back "fixed". It lasted another week or so and in call volume went.
I got online to O2 via the chat and contacted customer services. They sent me a new SIM, didn't work. So I hit the roof and explained why I wasnt happy paying for an expensive phone when I couldnt make calls.
Anyway they sent me a new phone (door exchange) and (fingers crossed) the problem has happened again. Although I've had the new phone less that two weeks......
Its a hardware problem.
Oh and I posted on the O2 Community and on here and googled the internet and NO ONE had experienced it. There were a couple of occurrences on an S3 but that was it.
So I'm actually pleased its happened to someone else (sorry).
GG

Do you have the phone connected to any bluetooth audio devices? Only reason I ask is that I had a similar issue. I found out that when I was out and about in my car I could get no sound from the phone at all. I tried restarting several times to no avail and then figured out that my phone automatically connects to my Sync system and all the sound is routed (or tries to be routed) through the car speakers....when I step out of the car and I am not in range of the sync system, the speakers and sound work fine on the phone.
Yeah but my Bleutooth is off

try factory reset, if it doesn't solve the problem, try to reflash your firmware

I don't have that app
I was calling my friend and he put me on hold by mistake. I didn't know this, and checked the phone to see if the call was disconnected.
I was surprized to see that my phone rebooted. This has happened 3 times now, and all while trying to disconnect calls. I've attended a lot of calls, but it doesn't happen always.
Anyone else having this issue? I didn't have this issue when I had Nougat on the device.

Same issue here. You might have noticed that it happens most of the time when you press power key while call is ending.
Since last two days no issue like that before 5-10 times. Device reboots in 1-2 seconds so i ignored it. call me lazy.

Totally true! I meant realistically it takes less than 20 seconds, which is quite fast. My Redmi 2s still needs some time to get up and running, but Mi A1 is fast in this regard. And so is Redmi Note 4 (my roommate has it).

Same problem occuring on my Mi A1
Same for me.
Same issue but no solution..
Guys any solution for it ? I m facing the same problem and this is happening after i updated to Oreo
Same for me guys. tried everything, not even latest patch (Feb) solved it. What about you?
Same the latest update haven't solved it so I have just downgraded to the 7.1.2
I have been facing the same issue for past 3 weeks. Don't know the reason nor the solution.!
Also, if you notice, the call during which the phone restarts, is never logged in the last dialed or received calls
This is either a kernel bug which affects certain phones or a hardware bug. If you can reproduce it after factory resetting your phone, not installing any additional apps and using another cellular operator, then it's certainly a hardware bug. In this case you might want to replace/RMA your device.

---------- Post added at 08:42 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:39 PM ----------
The problem seems to be related to the proximity sensor. The smartphone also reboot in whatsapp calls.
Yes the problem is with the proximity sensor even the March update haven't solved it.
I can confirm this issue. Tho im not sure if it started this or last patch

Same issue here. For me it happens when the other person ends the call or when I make the call or during the call itself.
I have had this issue. I clean flashed the whole phone with wiping the partition too. And it's solved now for me.

A follow-up question: Which .bat should be used?
EDIT: 'Clean All and Lock' is using "flash_all_lock.bat". My bad. Thanks!
