Dude i know there are severak threads full of lengthy discussions..dont wanna read all the stuff..here we just want to know the countries where 2.3.3 availability is confirmed, if u can add something we will appreciate, thanks!!
If u still wanna blame me plz send PM
sent from Xperia Arc
The update for Hong Kong is only rolled out for particular device, which is unbranded retail device. For those device bought from operator such as 3HK, the ota update is not yet available until early June since the firmware for branded devices need the operator to approve those preinstalled application. My xperia arc was bought from 3HK so it is still checked as most update using pc companion software. Anyway I by need those operator Apps so I have go for the Hong Kong retail version firmware,. Although it still contain some junk software that I don't need. Flashing the firmware. Using flashtool is just so easy and even no need to unlock the. Bootloader which could void the warranty.

That particular thread is meant for listing the countries (as well as brand and build number) for the 2.3.3 update. No lengthy discussions there.
PS: It just got released for certain Singapore sets.

Im in uk on an unlocked note and mine says no update available.
Im on LB2.
So would this be because i have the indian rom installed, ie, do i have to have a uk rom installed to get a uk update??

Possibly, but LB2 is presumably also later than LA4 (LB2 = February 2012 v2; LA4 = January 2012 v4)
There's no 'presumably' about it, LB Roms are newer than LA6.
Anyway, N7000XXLA6 could've been downloaded and flashed from XDA ages ago.
What software were you on before the update? I'm in the UK and from *#1234# my Note is on:
PDA: N7000XXKKA
PHONE: N7000XXKK5
CSC: N7000CPWKK3
No update available either OTA or via Kies.
I had same version before Kies update. Reboot both phone and PC. Start Kies first. Connect phone.

Did you have the CPW (Carphone Warehouse) CSC? I followed your instructions but Kies still insists I have the latest software. As far as I can tell KKA is indeed the latest software for the CPW CSC.
Why on earth to CPW have their own CSC?
No I didn't have CPW phone. I got mine unlocked via Clove Technology.
if you bought your phone at CPW as i did, then its unlocked, i was on the same firmware, KKA, indeed CPW have not sold locked phones for the last 10 years, so i would think the software would be samsung provided anyway and not thru CPW.
I also got this message this morning, informing me a software update (~ 70mb) is available. It's the first time I have got this message since I got my Note (~4 months ago).
I downloaded the update but it didn't install, probably because I am rooted.
-Is it worth updating?
-What update is it exactly?
-Any differences for those who updated?
I am thinking I should just wait for the official ICS update.
I am Brazilian, but I bought G. Note on my last trip to London. I upgraded, everything was fine, but no difference. The only thing that changed was the home screen. The message: Swipe screen to unlock. Moreover, nothing more. Someone noticed a major change?
OK, unbranded but rooted here.
Same update failed message with update OTA.
Anybody any idea of whats changed with a successful flash?
Is this 'update' worth persuing?
Regards,
Agent

I know you will be right, +1
The differences I can find is torch widget and qwerty keyboard has numbers on top , making the letters a fraction smaller.
I also got notification via the Samsung updater and it pulled down a 70 Meg file but couldn't install it (I tried twice).
It did work via Kies though, but killed off root.
(I'm still a bit wary about Odin etc. on the Note, although I've only been a Notehead for a few days. I was comfortable with Odin on SGS2.)
A big thanks to Chainfire and Dr. Ketan for their postings here, I'm still a little confused about whether the jig works or not.

Lol it was leaked. Never official in the first place. It's like trying to ban marijuana.
This petition doesn't make sense. It is a leaked firmware on which Samsung is working
im not trying to ban it from samsung, just trying to take if off the internet (sammobile)
you dont have to argue about everything guys, really its like, oh heres a thread that
looks like it needs a good argument

than stop making ones that requires argument, and stop making threads like this and the one i saw earlier about porting from new samsung chat lol.
It's an awesome ROM.
There's zero issues if you keep it stock.
I won't be signing.

yeah, its a brilliant rom, just flash it as a stock rom with no root or modified kernel, and DO NOT include the pit
hey everyone, Vertumus has signed the petition =)
Ya exactly ppl who dont know flashing and stuff will be safe. It bricks only if u try formatting using a recovery which has MMC whatever that stuff.. Removing is not a gud idea but we can tell others dont install if u using Custom ROMs because it hard bricks the phone... Simply removing doesnt help it..

my friends, other 4.0.4 releases will show up, why hurry and risk your device, lets just wait for another release, and hopefully a more stable release, and this release isnt official as we all know, i heard samsung was going to make the 4.0.4 release TWUX, so why hurry, why take the risk
Instead of a petition to remove it, why don't you petition sammobile to put a big warning there instead? Surely its easier for them to include a warning than to remove it complete. I've used it and successfully went back to stock and I find it a great rom. So instead of wanting it removed, why not just stick a big warning next to it, those who want to flash it would then know the risks and procedures to revert back to stock.
Just a thought.
Guys grow up
We are on a developers site.
Leaks are happening here all the time, sammobile is only one site that has a copy.
This firmware does not have issues with bricks. PERIOD.
It's only cwm that is giving issues with it.
But CWM is a developers tool never made by Samsung. (i think it was a CM9 app?)
If we want to fix anything here, it is the general knowledge here of what a leak is all about. And with it the risks it can bring when used wrongly.
yeah it was a leak, not finished yet, not released, has anyone updated there phone to XXLQ5 via KIE'S??
we will get it when they finish it, it is surely not wort the risk, and yes i will change the petition goal, so that they put a BIG warning sign, good idea my friend =)
cheers
I agree with a warning! don't need to remove it, I use this Rom until now with no problem and fill good with it. So, I will stay with this Rom and wait for new release
I too have flashed the day it was released. But i haven't flashed any custom kernel/cwm/root as it wasn't made available. Later, I read bricking of phones & didn't try rooting it.
I am still on stock XXLQ5 & it's working fine, no issues.
Since you've changed it to a warning petition, I'll gladly sign it.
XDA has had a warning in place on the S2 forums since yesterday when it came to my attention that there was an issue
There's no reason to outright remove access to this ROM, so long as people are aware that it causes the hardbrick issue.
And there is no need to sign it, Sammobile already showing warning since yesterday. In red colour if that will be your next complain.

[ Update ] Z1 14.1.G.2.259 seems a update for only some carrier based operators so far. May not roll on other Z1 devices.
Anyone got it yet ?
The display bug rectifying update, isn't it?
Just because a firmware gets certified is no reason that it will be released.

Interestingly, the 14.1.G.2.257 firmware (which has been released) was only certified yesterday.
Already seen on some devices from two german carriers.

If you can't wait any longer then you can flash any generic ROMs available now. I'm using the generic ROM from CH (Swiss) and it's fine. You will just lose any customization of SMART if you will flash other ROMs but still functions the same.

If you can't wait any longer then you can flash any generic ROMs available now. I'm using the generic ROM from CH (Swiss) and it's fine. You will just lose any customization of SMART if you will flash other ROMs but still functions the same.

Hi there! Were you able to update? If so, can you please provide a FTF file for that? I'm on the C&J version atm and having really bad Kernel wakelocks.. was hoping to update to that without rooting, if its not too much trouble. :fingers-crossed:

Yes I was able to update, but sadly I got an uber slow connection that I can't upload an FTF file. Maybe someone who's more "used to it" and have a fast connection could do it.
Does the Smart Comm. version always get updated first before the Generic PH one? I happen to have the Generic PH one.
as far as i know, generic ones always receive the updates first before the branded ones... i have read that somewhere. hehe. i am also a generic PH XZ user but i flashed a different generic ROM. also, flashing other generic ROMs will remove the sim/network lock of your XZ, if i'm not mistaken. hehe.
Nah it doesnt remove the simlock but carrier specific bloatwares. This is only good when you wanna come clean upon claiming warranty.
