I would just like to say a big thanks to the devs doing great work with the A500. They have NTFS, Mouse and even started on custom rom patches WITH the locked boot loader.
The A500 is a nice piece of hardware, and Acer may have semi screwed up with locked bootloader and a few other things but I beleive the devs will over come that.
On that note a prediction:
I beleive acer will cave to the consumer base that wants the bootloader unlocked. I beleive this will happen after the 3.1 update in june but before Q4 gets here. Once honeycomb matures a little more, we are going to have a very nice tablet that with the given hardware should have a following for quite awhile.
Ditto! Shout outs to all the DEVS making great progress despite the tech hurdles!!
yeah... +100
They sure can use a shout out to let them know that their hard work are appreciated
yes a big thanks to all the devs for this tab and any other device listed
I concur. Nuff thanks DEVS!!!

I just wanted to inform all the good people of XDA for helping out me out. It all started with me asking total noob questions such as "What is rooting" to finally having great guides to teach me about rooting. Now, my phone is completely rooted, voodooed, and just spanking fantastic. It's fascinating how a phone can do so much. I can't wait till XDA works hard to crack the 2.2 update in the future and I just wanted to say, Thank you very much.
I second that. Came in here with no knowledge of the subject of roots, and after a couple of weeks of reading I feel I can safely edit my phone. Thank you to all who contribute.
Thirded. It's quite amazing how quickly this phone has come along. Big thanks to the devs for their hard work. Also, lol @ the OP's fascinate pun.

U'll can thank a lot of these guys by donating. Most of them have ways to do that.
I'm gonna echo the OP's sentiments exactly. After everybody's help & responsiveness here at xda I feel like I've been able to make the right choices about phones & apps & what to do with them. After everyone's input on my OP, droid x or fascinate?, I'm sticking with the fascinate due to my confidence in what these devs can accomplish with a truly open platform.

+1. I'm new to the android scene. Thanks to XDA and its helpful guides and members, my phone's now rooted and zipper than ever.
Some other folks here and I have had this phone since Last fall, and this dev community has exploded since then. Thanks to the devs, this phone is exactly how I want it.

This thread must be dead sexy.

Classy.
-Hai guise I haz problems on the pre-alpha release and I don't know why.
I just wanted to send a simple, humble thanks to all the Devs out there who spend countless (and manytimes thanksless) hours updating the Android OS's.
Without them most of us (if not all) would be stuck using the providers locked down and bloated OS -
thank you for all of your hard work
thank you for answering our many times ignorant questions
Thank you again -

Indeed. I chose android solely because of the development community. I didn't just blindly grab any phone I could, I did a little research and knew it had to be android and it had to be HTC. And thanks to the support and quality that devs put into these devices I will be a dedicated HTC/android customer for as long as both exist.
A big thank you to everyone who puts in work, especially the cyanogenmod team.

I agree, the devs, all of them! Have made owning an htc aria a very nice experience, I have been taught so much about linux, it's insane, droid platform coding too! This is the greatest phone/community combo! Thanks to all, regular members too!

BIG DITTO to this, exactly the reasons I came over to Android and in particular HTC.
I was completely unprepared for how much work has been put in by the devs and community - Bravo everyone and in particular the hard work of the modders!
To be honest... I bought this phone back in October bc it was NOT an iPhone which was very important to me. I didn't even know what android was. Now I'm addicted and my girlfriend hates my phone . Thank you so much devs for giving me a hobby. Idk that I can really be thankful enough for what y'all have done for me. My whole life really. I was just kind of wandering aimlessly before but not anymore!

two Very BIG Thumbs Up
Is with great honour im here to tell you guys the good news.
Project Cheesecake was a great success, and Stevendeb25 manage to pull an Orange UK update with unlock capable bl.
I want to thank everyone who tried, participated, or contributed.
This was a community effort, and now the community can share the win!
**** yes! No censoring for something this epic.
This is awesome. Good work to everyone involved!
nice!

Finally! The whole atrix community is equal Forget the AT&T Atrix, the Bell Atrix, and the rest. Soon there will just be the atrix n_n
Much thanks
Woohoo!!
Nice work everyone.
Sweeeeet! Good job!
Awesome! Thank you guys very much!!!!
Now the fatal question: when we will have the pudding to apply on our phones and enjoy the leaked GB?
Sweet! Looking forward to an unlocked BL and android 2.3.4, then waiting time for CM 7. Are we going to get a download/instructions on how to do everything? I am assuming we will need to push the unlockable BL to any international phone, unlock the phone, then push any ROM we want!?
I know we shouldn't ask for ETAs, but is this pretty much done and we just need someone to write a tutorial? or are we still going to be waiting a couple of days?
Stevendeb25 I want your babies.

you have no idea how good of news this is. this now means the atrix pool of potential users is sufficiently large enough such that its worth it for devs to make good ROMs for this device. i'm so buying an atrix soon.
Wonderful news. Any word on which carriers' devices this will unlock?
I hate to say this but i almost cried when i read about the unlocked bootloader(been monitoring the whole thing since last month every single minute, day and minute). If i had words to describe how much i appreciate what you guys are doing for the Atrix community, i definitely would. Thanks a lot folks.

What's up with all the people saying the shift is dead and bashing roms. Its annoying give the devs time they have only had the GB source a few weeks and ICS source a few days, im sure the devs have a life other than just developing roms and posting on xda so give them a break.
Edit....This thread is to thank all the devs for their hard work show some android and xda love.

For some reason people think that dev'ing is a full time job and that devs get paid for it. They think that while they're at work making money, then coming home and taking care of their kids, oh, and don't forget about keeping the wifey happy, that devs should just be sitting in their free home using free internet making roms and themes for people all day.

The Shift is far from death, I think it is only cause of the ICS euphoria right now..
I don't know why some people complain, I wonder what the Hell do they want their phones to do? lol...
I'm very grateful with all the help and support from these Shift forums, a lot of cool people and generous devs.
I wish my new phone had as much development going on as the shift lol.
Still love the shift and miss it as my daily ..

I felt I needed to put up this thread due to the confusion of what can and cannot be posted in the other kernel threads. I would like to say a HUGE thank you to all the devs involved and the kernel testers. I am finally making use of the kernel thanks to epinters 10.1 ROM. Woah what a difference its like a new phone and still only alpha!!!! So to all the devs and the testers you are achieving things that I have seen go stagnant or fail on other projects for other platforms so many many many times. I hope this thread will help you all feel valued. This has to be one of the more hardcore coding projects and you are achieving milestones and a great rate. So if everyone would like to give thanks to those involved please use this thread so the devs will get the pats on the backs they deserve.
If a mod could add a complete list of the devs that would be great or if Kristian or epinter can send me a complete list I'll add it to the post, complete with their roles would be nice.
So once again your achievements truly are great may your success continue

Oh make no mistakes I'll will be making a donation, had I been working I would have already. I just think its important for the devs to read words of thanks, encouragement and praise for their efforts. I've posted in other threads before showing my admiration for what the devs have achieved only to have it deleted and my post I believed help give some idea to other users how difficult a task had been taken on. So please people if you feel the devs should receive a pat on the back then please post in this thread
