Stock sense on MT4G? - myTouch 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Are there any good stock sense roms for the mytouch other than Evil's desire z and desire hd rom? I dont want a Panache rom because they are very slow and buggy.

Evil's Virtuous Fusion ROM is great; lightning fast and low on bugs.

Can't speak for the evil d sense 3.0 GB Rom...( forget the name) but I can say I've been on the royal panache for a out 24 hours now and its anything from slow.
I came from gorilla sense and it was great also. A 2.2 sense Rom.
I like the roms that were made for our phones as it makes sense they would work best.
I am going to try evils newest sense tomorrow. Sounds like it needs a bit.more tweaking though.

I'd check out Royal Panache. I haven't used it, but I have used other Royal Roms and they do good work.

Virtuous Fusion is HTC sense 3.0. Orange Glacier is a stock mysense ROM without all of the bloatware and custom kernel. Fast and smooth.

Royal panache is smooth but not as fast as evild fusion Rom, I've heard its slower cause of the debugging process.
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App

I tried both and Evil's fusion does seem less slow but i think im going to stick with gorillas sense because I didn't want sense 3.0.

Im using InsertCoin Rom with Sense 3.0 Widgets and everything works great including awesome battery life.

I've used both virtuous fusion and royal panache for several days each. In the end, I went back to fusion, and it's what I'm running now. Have to say though - Royal Panache is incredibly smooth. Wondering what you guys are referring to when you say "fast" - how smooth the rom runs (i.e. no lag?)? Data speeds? How quick an app launches? All of the above?
I love virtuous fusion, largely because sense 3.0 is fun and new, but I don't think I'd go so far as to say it's faster than Royal Panache.

Like I said...Orange Glacier...it is not 3.0 and is as close to stock you can get without all of the BS..

You are comparing 2.2 Roms to a 2.3 Rom. Not sure what Rom you have tried but Royal Panache is anything but slow and buggy.

I dont really believe that. The only thing that it really seemed to affect it the quadrant scoring and well....that is a worthless thing anyway.
Royal Panache is just as responsive as Virtious and it is less buggy. It is not a mix or a port from another device. It is made for our device.

Nvm I think I might be in love with Royal Panache.

just check out royal thunder its a great sense rom. Its sense 2.2.1 with everything working no bugs

I prefer the stock mytouch 4g with zeam as the launcher and took out all the bloatware and I replaced the msg app with GO SMS Pro. I get great battery life since doing this as well. I tried Royal Panache and it's great, especially the lock screen and being able to access apps from there but I didn't like the paid locations/GPS crap that is on there. If there is a way to remove it without causing errors I would most likely use it instead.

best 2.2 rom?

whats the best 2.2 rom available atm? fast and stable is what im after
for speed and stability, you cant go past openfire. thread at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=783024. more detail in the thread

with sense? looks good though B)
openfire is completely AOSP. and so far I haven't found a fast or stable sense rom. lol. there was some recent sense one whose name I've forgotten, that was supposedly fast and stable.haven't tried it myself yet. theres a sticky thread in the wildfire development forum, have a look at that
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App
I doubt it that fast (as comparing with Openfire) Sense-based ROM exist today. All new ROMs based on new HTC ROM are not JIT-Enabled. But the devs are working on it.
I also recommend trying OpenFire. Damn fast and light ROM.
The best Froyo Rom that works perfect is the villainrom (www.villainrom.co.uk) the only problem is with the live wallpapers. Everything else works (Fm Radio, HTC aplications. app2sd)
Yea... Even though villain rom was mostly/completely based on wildpuzzle lol.
Anyway, try wildpuzzle if you want a good sense rom or sinaabh whatever its called.

I'm using sinaabh right now actually, it is the most legendary sense ROM."I can't believe it's not stock!" (Lol) this one is definitely a keeper, at least until a stable gingerbread ROM comes out

openfire was fast and simple, still a bit buggy though.
cyanogenmod is what i'm sticking to atm, it's updated frequently

Royal glacier vs iced glacier vs orange glacier

I'm tired of crackflashing. I've stayed on cm7 for a while, was about to upgrade to final last night but I think I'm done. so what's your favorite stockbased rom?
Sent from my myTouch 4G using XDA App
Once a crackflasher.... always a crackflasher
As far as sense roms .. I love orange. Very smooth. Good battery life... but could never get mms to work using wificalling.
If you aren't reliant on wificalling... then I highly recommend it.

I love royal awesome. Better than iced haven't tried orange
HTC Glacier Black, Royal Glacier V1.2,droid boot sound, rooted splash, blazing....
My fav is RoyalGlacier Fast, smooth and all stock features available. A new version of it is coming out soon.
ive tried all and these are my top 3 in order:
evil 4g
royalglacier
ice glacier
all with new kernel youll get the best battery life and speed. im on royalglacier now and its faster than every other rom i tried minus gingerbread because im not a fan. but sense wise evil 4g is the way to go. if you want stock look and speed/battery long life choose royal glacier.
I don't want sense. stock=expresso
Sent from my myTouch 4G using XDA App
Stock is MySense. It just a slimmer version of HTC Sense. I personally think HTC Sense is far better than MySense. I would go with Royal Glacier if it were me.
FWIW I hate Sense with a passion. I went from CM7 to Royal Glacier to RoyalThunder to now RoyalGinger. I'll stay with Royal Ginger most likely until I get a new phone.

No you don't need to do anything else except, if you like, download and install updated faux's froyo/sense kernel, which I use, from here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=941141) or any other kernels that you like.
Flashed over the new kernel...still seem to get battery drain? I am thinking of re-reflashing the royal glacier rom but with added sounds that I will put into the notifications. Will I have redo everything or can I leave the kernel as is?
Using evil 4G with new cfs kernel. Great combo

Hey big question.. Is this phone (the glacier) really as fast a its said to be? Im only just getting into android but have been atech with computers for years.. So its gots a dual core proc... Other things that make it faster? I can tell that my phone is faster than my girls (data usage which is cuz I'm tmobil and she is verizon but also apps and general phone usage) and she has a motorola droid2 global

[Q] thinking of sellig my glacier for a .....

g2 do you guys think this is a good idea... i dont like the hardware layout on the glacier ... the screen is small for a onboard keyboard and the glacier is overal really slow for a 1ghz processor and i hear the g2 is pretty fast even though it has a 800mhz processor any ideas adice???
The G2 is has a less powerful processor (MSM7230 vs the MT4G's MSM8255), has less RAM (512 vs the MT4G's 768), has a smaller screen (3.7" vs the MT4G's 3.8"), and is thicker with a crappy hinge. The MT4G is better in every way. If yours is "slow" for a 1GHz phone, then it's your setup.

if you think that its laggy on the MT4g try running the same on the G2 and you'll be even slower lols.. i can concur that screen real estate get diminished due to the on screen keyboard though.

Um, I've had no problem with that on CM7. Choose a good ROM by good devs and you won't have anything to worry about. Stock ROM is slow and has all sorts of added crap, which I'm sure is more conducive to bugs (and LAG!) than an AOSP-based ROM.

[Q] Sense 4A

I was just curious about what Sense 4A brings to the table. I've had my Glacier running on Virtuous Affinity for a while now, which comes with Sense 3.5. What does Sense 4A do that 3.5 doesn't? Or is it the same thing with a different name because it goes hand in hand with ICS?
I believe its a new looking sense but a slightly stripped down version of sense 4 seemed pretty stable when I ran it, only way to truly see what it brings.... is to run it, would highly recommend it. devs worked extremely hard on venomous.

It's basically a glorified version of Sense 4.0. I usually use SetCPU to bench my roms and it was comparable to AOSP Gingerbread. It's main focus is speed but there is plenty of eyecandy. Unlike EQjunkie, i think sense 4 can easily be used as your daily driver provided you don't need to use the camera.

That right there would be a problem. The camera, that is. I wouldn't flash creamed glacier for the longest time due to the camera issue. I'm running MIUI V4 right now and its amazing. It'll be hard to pry me from it, but those screenshots a little further up look mighty nice...

I ran the Virtuous Sense 4a rom for a while. It seems like whenever I decide that I never use the camera, I need it for something so I went back to creamed glacier.
I was very impressed with the virtuous rom though and I have been watching very closely for an update. It is crazy fast and I got the best battery life I have ever had with any android phone. The latest version of Creamed Glacier is also giving me good battery life so far. It is a good time to be a MT4G owner.

The same thing happens to me with the camera. All you can do is sit back and wait. That was the initial story with ICS ROMs, and now it applies to Sense 4.0/4A ROMs.
...Sad thing is I have no patience. As long as Wifi and 90% of other things work, I'll probably flash it later tonight.
