Apps organiser its wicked - Galaxy S I9000 General

If like me you have 5 plus screens, check out apps organiser, I think its great, I'm now down to 2 screens. Simply create labels to group apps by and place all apps in these groups meaning you are never further away from anything by 2 clicks! this also means less memory in use for your launcher.happy days, give it a whirl

how is this different from folders?

Err not tried folders

AFAIK, apps must be placed in android folders manually, and if you accidentally delete the folder, you have to do the same thing again. With apps organizer it's much easier with this so called labeling. Also, new apps go instantly under label "other apps".

I use folder organizer which is much the same thing. really handy!

Custom screen timeout

I had a feature on an older phone that let you set the screen timeout for the homescreen separately to inside apps. Not for single apps but for apps as a whole.
Is there a way this could be implemented to the sys or even all android handsets?
Unless there is an app or something out there that does this already.
Thanks

[Q] New to Android

Hi guys. I am new to Android world. I have a question. I've downloaded few games and apps however they are installed all over the APPS page. Is there a way to create a folder on desktop and dump all games in it for easy access?
Thank you...

App Organizer
Thanks. It worked
I never tried it but you could use better cut to change the icon. I think it is a paid app though.

I use SiMi Folder Widget. It's easy to use, looks great, and best of all it's free. You can use any custom icon you want for your folders.

Simi folder is what I use. Its as simple as click and drag.
Hmmm so I could use this for my ugly icons?

Apps safe to remove?

Removed the obvious ones, PlayNow and setup wizard, news and weather widget but wondered what other system bloatware can go...

any you want backup the .apk, and if it messes up your phone, restore it
I removed the digital clocks. I froze crash monitor and SE Sync and I didn't have any problems. There's more but I can't recall without my phone with me.
They were constantly running in the background.

Can't create folders?

I'm i doing something wrong? On my GN I just drag and dropped and BAM instant folder. TouchWiz #Fail?

TouchWiz launcher doesn't support that functionality. You can download Nova Launcher though, which is an ICS based launcher and does support on the fly folder creation.

Click to collapse
What you have to do is go to your home screen. Press menu and then create folder

exactly. I had no trouble creating folders. You can rename them and when you add apps tiny images of the apps are saved on the face of the folder.

Unfolder apps. Possible?

So when I setup my phone I put all the apps in the app drawer in various folders. I then put these folders on a home screen. I wasn't thinking. Now I want all the apps out of folders for easy alphabetical sorting and finding. Is there a way to unfolder them short of dragging each one out one at a time?

Figured it out. Drag the folder to "remove" in the edit screen.
