Hello all,
The streak is awesome but there are little things that disrupt the experience.
that said when I receive calls if I decline it I don't want it to go directly to voicemail. I prefer it continue ringing even after I decline like a missed call.
Also is there s way to root the hardware buttons. I.d like to map the camera button to the camera or a voice recorder when pressed in any app
My phone is android 2.2.2 and not rooted.
I'd this possible?
if you don't want the caller to know that you are rejecting the call, you can simply press the volume button.
and i didn't really get your 2nd question. what are we trying to do with camera button?
Yes you can remap the button with a apk called button remap here on xda dell forum look in the apps and theme forum, but you have to be rooted.

Haha, I thought this was about a reject that called you...

I was wondering if there is a way to map the green calling button to call history like most regular cell phones are. I am using AE Button Plus, but it would only link to phone and doesn't say anything about straight to call history.
The Take-Call/Answer button appears to haveseveral functions:
It switches to the phone app (Good)
It answers an incoming call (good as prevents having to use the slide)
It dials the last number in the Calls list display (bad)
I keep finding that I double-press the button by mistake and end up dialling someone without intending to do so.
Is there any registry hack that can eliminate this last function. I have tried using Mobile Magic to assign the key to "switch to phone app" but then I can't use it to answer an incoming call which is a bit of a pain.
Or do I need to find an alternative dialler?
personally I find that disabling the green button from answering calls is a good thing - it means that you don't accidentally press it when taking it out of your pocket for example! you could try AE Button Plus and set long press of the green button to "press green button" and short press to "launch program" -> "phone" that way if you accidentally double-pressed the green button it wouldn't call the person, but would still load the phone dialer and could still be used to answer calls, just holding buttn instead of pressing...
Closest solution I can think of...
Sounded promising - thank you. Unfortunately I can't get a long keypress to generate an "green button press". I have decativated the usual long-keypress action but still no joy.
I even tried implementing a "double keypress" for answer but it only works sporadically.
Slider for Calling?
The Take-Call/Answer button appears to haveseveral functions:
* It switches to the phone app (Good)
* It answers an incoming call (good as prevents having to use the slide)
* It dials the last number in the Calls list display (bad)

after my touch hd didn't make an international phone call of several minutes today from my pocket, I didn't realize how right were your words.
So, I unbinded the Green Phone Button with AEB Plus and I reassign "Key 1 (Press)" to act as Green Phone Button. From now only pressing for a while the talk/send button will actually call the dialer.
However, the most gentle touch on a contact in the default dialer will make a call... which most of the times really annoys. What would be really cool and solve many problems is to use a slider for making the phone call (not only for answering). I searched conscientiously in the forum and I found no solution.
An alternative solution would be to use other contact manager, like Yota Contacts, for example. But, having a slider for making a call would be so cool
Is there a possibility to program the button, which is integrated in the headset?
If I push it, nothing happens. If I push it twice, the caller dials the number I last called in the callhistory.
It would be nice if the caller would popup if I push the button one time, and maybe, if I hold the button for 3 secs, my player (Conduits) would stop playing or something like that.
Pressing it ones is for answering and hanging up a call
jeah, but on my samsung omnia which i had before the TD2, i pressed the button once and the dialer opened up, i liked that in some way, it must be possible to make this on the TD2 too.
and it would be simply nice if i could stop the song i am playing with pressing the button for 3 seks or something like that.
I installed the voice dialler software. Now when I press it, I can say 'home' and it dials home etc. or use it to fire up software.

is there an app like this for android?
Don't think there is an app for android. Pretty sure most, if not, all android phones don't have a call/end button, so I don't think a dev would make one. They usually only have home, back, search, menu, or similar.
would there be any way to remap the send and end buttons to not answer and reject?
its getting annoying accidentally rejecting a call by removing the phone from your pocket and hitting the end button
it would be nice to just make the red button turn the screen on and off and thats it.
Dear All!
Is it possible to map hardware buttons "Home" and "Back" to answer or reject incoming call?
