Market takes forever to download...

Hey guys question am I the only one that hates the market? Why does it take forever to START downloading? Sometimes if I turn wifi off it starts faster. Market is key to android success.... they gonna fix this?

This is also fixed in DJ05, I recommend switching to LG enV 3. I get tired of hearing how EVERYTHING is wrong with your phone. In all seriousness try to wipe cache in market

As others have told you several times, if your having this many problems you need a dumb phone. I have 2 fascinates and neither have any of the problems you have and if they did I would return them. Market downloads work just fine here. As soon as I click install they start downloading.

Yeah. He should move to a different forum. Sorry Sherwood1 we r cool now, but if all Droid phones u have had have this problem, and none of mine( I have owned every android phone that Verizon has made) maybe you need to move on. I sugeested an env3, u don't have to buy it, I will pay you to take and find a enV forum. Send me your fascinate, I will install DJ05 and it will be as good as new. Just trying to help you out.

And what if Gingerbreak apk stucks at running exploit for several hours? Wouldn't you rather try with SOC's Gingerbreak exploit...?

yea true blagus but I haven't heard that gingerbreak has done that unless I missed something I'd just rather use gingerbreak myself. Every person to there own

There are plenty of handsets that aren't listed as being compatible with superoneclick that it works absolutely fine with.
If someone's willing to give it a shot and confirm it works, I'll add it to my guide.

Running SuperOneClick>>>>>copies the Gingerbreak but gets stuck @ Running Ginerbreak and remove SD but it will go on.....forever.
Edit:With just Gingerbreak.apk, same process happens but it reboots in less than 8 sec.

Running CM7 on CDMA Tab (Sprint)

Just for anyone interested.. I'm running the CM7 that was posted over at rootzwiki (yes, I know it's only RFS) and so far so good. Had to pull the kernel outta the zip and flash it with the recovery, but was able to boot into CWM and then flash the full zip. Just had to get my flashing fix on my Tab while waiting for Oldmacnut to get his EXT4 version working to his satisfaction so I can run that.
Anybody else excited that various forms of CM7 are slowly getting to a usable state for our CDMA Tabs?

I'm definitely excited and I downloaded the files last night to do the same as you but was too tired and lazy to actually do it... Maybe tonight...

Yea you'll have to pair it with the tab..might try it just cause.. Auto rotation needs to be fixed, but otherwise everything else seems good to go. still nice and zippy even on rfs..

Yes if you purchase the sixaxis app from market it explains everything... I paired with my droid x no problems, however samsung devs must have been high when they made the bluetooth stack for galaxy tab, as it natively will not see the sixaxis or wiimote... This is why im so excited for oldmacnut's build, as CM7 on gsm tabs allows sixaxis pairing, therefore it should work when a cdma version is completed

Yup, I'm on XDA at least a couple hours a day (flashaholic so I can't help myself) and always check on his threads. seems he's taking a well needed break. Hopefully we'll see him back in action and with updates soon.

Did you get a chance to test out if sixaxis would pair with your rootzwiki rfs CM7 yet? Just curious if you can confirm... There is a free sixaxis compatibility checker in market, it allows you to check compatibility before purchasing paid app.

Just pulled it up on the market and it says it's incompatible (the app doesn't have the option to install it.) so I'll do it the hard way and see what i get.
Also, there's an update to the CM7 from rootzwiki.. EXT4 and RFS support!
Gonna flash it here in a few once i runt he sixaxis check app.
Update: Sixaxis checker says it's compatible..

Clean shirt on now... Awesome, sometimes I download an app on my droid x and gmail to myself to download on tab ;-) I wish I knew how to dev android, as I would help oldmacnut myself... I'm such a waste to the community because I can type 45 - 50 WPM and I can't write code lol, if it was in basic I could help lol but I've probably forgotten more than I knew lol

Hey, I was into computers from a very young age! (and my first home pc was a Tandy 1000 as well.. lol)
And back on the topic of CM7.. flashed the updated CWM for RFS and EXT4, installed the updated .zip and BAM! EXT4 CM7 hawtness!
Still gotta mess with some things to try and get the market working properly, but that probably won't be till tonight.

Yeah, my parents were sold their first Gateway 2000 pc with a 540mb hdd and were told they'd "never run outta space" XD
So far for my uses, aside from the market issue and the rotation issue, I LOVE it.. it's everything I want my Tab to run and be. So once the rotation issue is fixed, I'll be good to go. I'm sure the market issue is something that shouldn't be hard to fake, I just have to take the time to do it.

I think I read somewhere on oldmacnut's thread that he has a rotation fix for his rom, maybe it was for TW though... I don't remember. Anyway good luck with your market fix. Lol damn gateway probably burned up before they could fill that hdd anyway, as most early pentiums had no fans only heatsinks lol. I had an old packard bell (remember them?) that burned a hole into the motherboard due to excessive heat... Wish I still had the picture I took of it, it was crazy!

Root .sh method D:<

I cant seem to get rooted with this method?! Simple as hell but for some reason my phone wont perma root. I got visionary r14 select the first and third check boxes then hit temproot. Then (already put the proper root files on root of SD card)
I go to terminal emulator put in the commands then I get the not implemented error then it does it business. I turn off go into recovery as directed to check if s=off but nooooo s=on. Wtf? I'm using the unlockr guide. I already tried the xda one

I'm lost. I got my phone unlocked and cwm installed but adb won't recognize my device. I'm on 4.2.2 please someone. I'm almost there. I am not competent in this so if someone is willing to get on team viewer and do this I'll donate immediately. I'm frustrated. For the love of god help me.

Have you updated the SDK files?
In command prompt with your phone connected, type the following:
adb kill server
adb start server
That should work.
Make sure USB debugging is turned on in developer options.

maybe try this, i remember having to use PDAnet to install some adb drivers and it worked for me. this link will walk you through it. hope this helps.

theres a tutortial for the drivers when you install that , if you havnt solved your adb driver problem yet. you can even see in the screenshot on that link , it says "Full Driver Installation Guide - Automatic + Manual"
i used that to unlock and root my nexus , its a really nice GUI , made messing with this phone that much easier , most of the work is done for you
