Whts a good app to speed up ur phone processor for non rooted vibrant

You have to root your phone in order to overclock. After rooting, you can install any kernel that supports overclocking, and use SetCPU to adjust the speed.

This. You need root access. But please read the noob guide before doing anything ... trying to save you a headache.

CPU Boost

Hey guys, so i have the seeArms JL2 Rom installed with the speed mod kernal.
So my question is. How do i set the values for the cpu boost. All the values have K's at the end not mhz or whatever lol so id like to know what the K's mean.
And also i follwed the instructions for the kernal and the rom so i enabled all the tweaks and lagfix options so thats all done but i just need to sort out the cpu boost values.
Hope this question makes sense.
And lastly with the lagfix whats the difference between the options ext 3 and 4. And with binds and without binds whats those all about
Thanks in advance

And whenever i set the cpu boost, the values dont stay, they keep going back to stock

How about reading forum rules + reading original post of speedmode + posting in actual speedmode kernel topic?
Sure i will do that Sir. Thanks for the tip

Overclicking cpu

Hi I'm woundering how to overclock g3's cpu.I use setcpu but its seems to work.so my question is did I overclock it?
Sent from my GT-I5800 using XDA App
Always the same questions. Can't you just search for? Since we have no cusom kernel, enabling overclocking, we can 't overclock.
Sent from my GT-I5800 using Tapatalk
For now it is inpossible.
And was it posible in past?

godd save this worldd
^he cant hear you
You can't use SetCPU. Does no-one use the search facility at the top of the forums? Since we do not have any custom kernels its impossible.
And do you think you are the first person to try it? It does not work!

OverClock...!!!

Now we have root on ARC, its high time we overclock it...
SetCpu doesn't work...
Can someone provide a comprehensive tutorial on overclocking and benchmarking ARC...???
First you need a custom kernel
and search..there's already a thread for this.
Sent from The Arc!
And also setcpu does work

With "setCPU works" they just mean it works. you can't go above 1Ghz that's how it is for now.
Please, edit the tittle.
The speed of my heart have been increased

Exactly thats what I observed... That simply means it isn't workig as it should...!!!

That's because you don't know how setCPU works apparently
It works perfectly, setCPU allow you to modify the frequency of the processor within the range allowed by the kernel.
So once again, we need a custom kernel that modifies the voltage and frequencies allowed for setCPU to go higher than 1Ghz.
Just curious why do you wan't to overclock the phone, is it to slow?
What will happen if you overclock:
- higher battery drain
- Phone gets really hot
- it makes the cpu unstable
I never overclocked my phones and even the hero still runs fast.

The title says, "OverClocking"... I don't want to my cpu to work at lower freqs... I need overclocking...
Besides we r not here to discuss setCpu...
Waiting for custom Kernel...!!!
yup guys setcpu is working in our Arc in terms of 'battery saving' for now
overclocking is for later (or sooner i hope)
The MSM8255 can be overclocked to 1.8GHz on the Desire HD. I'll try to make an overclock kernel this week, but it's definately more work than I thought.

If u know how to make a kernal go ahead so I can use more cpu but it works anyway the development isnt all too good at the minute but will be hopefully then we will have roms and hopefully kernals but u cant ***** about things if you cant try things your self just my opinion

Yes you are right the maximum is 1024 cant go any further i didn't know that he meant to go above 1024
before open such threads you should know about overclocking, of course setcpu wont enable overclock with stock kernel, why should it???
Speed is something which we always want more .. If we get Dual Core with 1.2Ghz still we need to over to push the limit. That's human nature ....
I have got overclocked Xperia Neo and when it was on 1.8 ghz it was 1. stable 2. cold 3. and really fast! but when you start to play somethink yes then it is really hot and it drain a battery too much I think oc is good.
Sorry for my bad English

What can I do with my EVO shift if I root it?

Well I'm thinking of rooting my phone but I don't know what custom things I can do with it. So what can I do if I root my phone? Haha

Check the threads.. you currently can't root if your running Gingerbread.
Yea you currently can't root yet but when someone finds a method of rooting here's some of the things you can do
1) wireless tether (free) be able to use your phone as a wireless hotspot for free
2) make full backups of your system to restore to
3) Flash a sense rom that is optimized to speed up your device a lot
4) Flash custom kernels to overclock to speed up the phone and Undervolt to save battery plus more
5) Flash AOSP roms for stock android or flash something like MIUI which is a ROM with a different take on android
6) Batch Backup and restore apps
7) remove unwanted sprint bloatware
Those are just some of the things you can do

A lot if you take a look at ScaryGhouls thread in the development forum he has a kernel called SUV which is Super UnderVolt and it means he put the kernel at very very low voltages. only some phones can handle the SUV though but he also has a stable one which is still UV'ed a lot. But his SUV one Is my favorite kernel devolped for the shift right now I love it. It saves so much battery. I can almost go a day and a half with it.
But until HTC releases source code he can't make one for sense 2.3.3 he only has one for AOSP roms

No problem. Once the evo 3D gets perm root the evo will shortly after that and then once the evo has it we will have it shortly after THAT.
Now that's not for sure but i would bet money tht will be what happens

Yes you can use Tegrak Overclock (Ultimate) from the market, works on stock kernels
But be very carefull with your voltages, you are warned!
Do you maybe have good settings for the program?
is it possible to underclock to?
Can i leave the voltage standart and only set the cpu to 1.5 or 1.6
Thank you

You might want to look in the kernel threads (FM kernel, Abyss, etc) in development, there is enough info concerning your question, and yes you can underclock with tegrak.
With tegrak you can use any cpu speed you want, is not fixed to a few settings.

I think i wait with overclocking, its fast enough but sometimes its fun to tweak, but its to mutch risk i think, so after i downloaded the app and set it to 1.5, i did set it to default via the app and removed it

One useful thing to do is underclock and undervolt. This phone works perfectl in 1.0ghz with -50 voltage on all clocks and a maximum of 500mnz with screen off, and itll save u a lot of battery.

i want to overclock but when i read the message be carefull with the voltage it scared me a bit, dont want to destroy it so fast haha.
is it faster on 1.5 or almost not?

I've not touched the voltage. If my s2 could handle 1.5ghz I'm sure the Note will be just fine.

Why not? Its never fast enough haha.
I have mine now on standart 1.4, when i think its to slow then i wil overclock it to 1.6 or flash a custom rom and overclock it to 1.7.
Does somebody now what the speed is from the gpu?

i've set my cpu to 1.6 and didn't touch the voltages, i left it at 1250mv and 1100mv for core and internal voltages respectively. been on this setting for 2 days now and i haven't had any problems so far. but i was wondering with that cpu frequency is it possible to undervolt?

Because you can?
Why wouldn't you?
My PC is a 2.66Ghz which has been running at 4.0Ghz since day 1. Like I said, if more power is available at no risk, and absolutely no extra cost, then the question isn't why, the question is WHY NOT?

True! My PC is a Core i7 2600k 3.4GHz which has has been overclocked to 4.7GHz.
Why? Because you can as you said! It's simply to make an insanely fast product run even faster!!
