has anyone managed to get WLAN in 11-n mode running?
I have tweaked even the registry as explained in the big registry thread but nothing changed. Only can see 54-g networks.

Hi all,
I faintly remember that earlier iterations of the Hermes had a today screen plugin which showed the current connection and its speed.
Does anyone know which model had that and if possible how could we get it on the TyTN.
I have done the registry tweak mentioned in the wiki but that only shows operator, wifi and bluetooth.

Hi all!
I have an HTC Prophet, which it appears that it cannot detect any Wifi networks at all. I know that it could do so in the past (autodetect etc). After a point of time this was not working but I though that it was simply some mess up with the configuration.
After, however, having gone through a ROM upgrade and still not seeing any Wifi The little icon appears, it seems to search but nothing is found. I wonder what could be wrong? Since the Prophet has taken a few drops I was wondering whether the wifi card (SDIO) or the antenna - if any - has some kind of problem. Is there anyway to check this (e.g. device manager, open-up the prophet etc)?
What else could the source of the problem be?

Same problem here with a Prophet G4 with:
IPL: 2.21.0001
SPL: 2.21.0001
Radio ROM: 02.69.21
OS ROM: WM6 PDAVIET 1.1 8mb pool (10.2.0.8)
Tried with different roms, radio roms, etc... So many hard resets after all. No solution. Wifis aren't detected.
Actually with PDAVIET 4.0.0.4 (8mb pool). Nothing changes. Wifi not detecting anything. Sometimes i got "bluetooth hardware error" message...
Make sure the security of your router is set of. Connect your ppc with your router. If you go to your ppc wifi setting you will noticed your Mac Adress. Enter you mac Adress to your router security list. Enable your router security.

Thanks but that's not the problem. My HP6815 detects wireless networks everywhere. (also at home and at work). Both works without mac filtering or such other security measures.
This is so rare and I am going to create a new Thread because It can be impossible that i'm the only person with this problem in the world.

My XDA never have been droped. No hits, nothing. it has only 1 month of life. And doesn't work. So forgot a HW a problem (at least, created by YOU. Another question is a random hw failure)
Also, i'm wondering WHY i have "Wi-Fi" and "Wireless LAN" icons on Settings/Connections, if both shows similar information (in different ordered tabs).
I've tried 5 different GSM rom versions. (from 2.07 to last 2.69) from 2.47/61 (i'm not sure) i 've that two icons. In early versions, only "Wireless LAN".
Has anybody this TWO icons??
Do i have to do something special to make the wifi work?
Why my prophet can enable Bluetooth and wifi at the same time?
For example, after a soft reset, i can enable Wifi. (but doesnt detect nothing, of course). In that point, i CANT enable bluetooth in CommManager. I tap on the icon, but it reverts to disabled.

I have the same problem. Yes I too have the same icons, and I have also tried different roms. I have also tried wififofum, but that didn't work either. If anyone have a solution, please be kind and tell us.
I have been seeking help in the following thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=301497) on how get my WiFi Working on my T-Mobile MDA with little success. If you read the tread you will find the following:
Wifi Router:
WRT56G Linksys, set in b/g mode and WPA-PSK secured
Other Wifi Devices
Acer Laptop - connects no problem.
iPaq 6315 - (T-Mob) Connects no problem.
Both devices easily connect to other routers and networks without problems.
My MDA
SID unlocked
CID Recently Unlocked
Latest T-Mob ROM
RegKeys - dot11SupportedRateMask (1) and ... RateMaskG (8) are believed to be accurate and viewed through SKTools Registry Explorer.
BlueTooth and IR can communicate with Laptop and iPaq.
About the Wifi
When I go to COMM Manager and click the wifi button, it shows the windows loading icon in the middle of the screen... it rotates for about 20 seconds then disappears and goes back to the wifi off status display. If I go to Wifi settings it does not let me enter any information into the settings.
I have also tried the djvw_htc_wizard_optimizer.cab which was supposed to fix the RegKeys set in the T-Mob shipped Wizard Settings, but that did not work either.
So I am looking for a few answers and some direction.
Firstly - What software, ROM, cabs, etc can I try to make the wifi work (provide links if available).
Secondly - What other registry Keys might be affecting the functionality of the wifi?
Third - If nothing else works, what kind of tests or repairs can be done to fix the hardware responsible for the wifi?
I know it has wifi access. The mfg specs say so, the forums and other resources say so, but nothing I have done or found has fixed the problem...

If you have reinstalled the official TMobile ROM on your phone and you still have this issue, then you appear to have a hardware issue with your MDA (just as I indicated in my last post to you in the other thread). If its under warranty, then call T-Mobile and tell them the WiFi doesn't work. They will probably have you try things, and then send you a new replacement device and then you'll be good to go.
And yes, these devices do have WiFi (I use WiFi on my 8125 all the time) and I know it works on the MDA out of the box (a friend of mine has one that is completely stock and he uses WiFi on it). So this issue is definetly with your phone (either a bad rom flash (which I doubt, but its possible) or its hardware (most likely it appears now after discussions in the other thread)).

To get your device to connect to the router is one matter - do you use AES or TKIP? Stock WM5 doesn't do AES.
Now, if the WiFi light turns on, have you tried using WiFiFoFum? If it doesn't, you might want to have a look at the power management states in the registry. I followed a bit of your thread but never read it through so I'm not sure what you have tried.
Power Management Settings??? Elaborate on this please...
Also router is TKIP.
Wizard is second hand, I live in Belize and thus warranty is probably invalid. So unfortunately, that will not work.
What are the chances of a ROM flash not working for just the WIFI.

i try use my friend iPOD touch, that iPOD detect Wifi with no problem...
any setting need to configure on the dopod?
Try going nearer to the WiFi, and in start->settings->Connections (tab)->WiFi, put the 'power' up to max (there is a slider).

I wonder if this is hardware rather than software. Try an official WM5 (AKU2.2) ROM from the ftp/wiki and see if you still get this problem.
i have this same problem when I install not original qtek ROM (WM6 or WM6.1).
Tray to scan your network using PeekPocket (on your PDA) and you see if problem are hardware or software. PeekPocket in wm6 & wm6.1 found my AP but default Windows Mobile not (in wireless settings). In WM5 all is tip top

I've a problem with my wifi pocket. It can detected with my wireless router and get the IP. But the problem is few minutes up and few minutes down. That's mean it's not stable. But if I'm using with my Nokia N95 it's working well. I'm using WM6.1 korand.

i have just flashed my phone to Khanx ROM (its great!) but i am having a problem with the internet connection sharing module.
The device will disconnect within 5 minutes of me enabling the connection. This happens too regularly for it to be a problem with reception, and i am almost certain i have full HSPDA converage.
Is there a timeout value i can change in the registry or is there another setting i can change?
I have upgraded my ROM from the custom o2 build. Now i know from past experience that o2 will fiddle with settings so that there network is aware of devices that are not sold by them. The classic example is the mms headers, if they do not say xda_orbit_2 the mms will be resize to under 10kb. What i am getting at is that if o2 can do this i am certain they could tell me phone to disconnect periodically.
So, i am hoping someone can help me firstly with any settings to change or identify the registry keys that i need to be aware of so i can compare them to o2's settings.
