Hello all,
Does anyone else ever experience any complete lock ups while WiFi is active?
Just about anytime I have WiFi on my unit will lock up at some point in time. This generally happens while in PIE.
I am not overclocking and I have the 2.25 ROM.
Thanks
David
I been having the same problems also. I am not sure but I think its due to the fact that I start up wifi and have my exchange server push mail on at the same time.
I experience the exact same issue. Random lockups when wifi is enabled. Sucks.
Same here. I'm on my second one that has that problem. I guess it's good to know it's not a unique problem. I can pretty much make mine freeze on cue by opening up Internet Exploder (or anything that uses WiFi, like Agile Messenger) then making a phone call. It's annoying, and I hope future ROM updates address it.
hey,
i have a tytn that doesn't have any orange customisation (for the first time i almost wish it did!).
for some reason my umts/gprs connection seems to hang. it looks like it's still connected but it isn't. sometimes it's just a case of resetting the connection in comm manager and at it's work i have to soft reset!
anyone else suffer this? if so, how did you fix it?
cheers
I'd say everyone suffers from it. The reason it's not reported/discussed/solved is because most people don't require constant data connectivity and therefore never discover the problem.
I just posted about this problem yesterday:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=297002
So far it seems to be a problem related to WM itself since it affects different devices.
thanks for the response, but maybe I should make myself clearer.
i've had an spv m500 and m600 and never experienced this.
when I say it hang I don't mean after a significant amount of time. this happens about every 10 minutes! as you can imagine this is incredibly frustrating!
Does it do this if you select gsm only rather than auto?
may be a silly question, but how do I change it?

Start>Settings>Personal>Phone Icon>Band Tab and here you can choose GSM and certain bands only instead of auto.
Mike
if you find this does help, then you might want to look at
http://commmgrpro.com/_wsn/page3.html
which is a little app which will switch from band to band from your today screen.
thanks marisa! a neat little app!
anyway, it seems to not hang on gsm. is 3G unstable? or is it my device?
Lots and lots of people seem to have one kind of problem or another with 3G.
I personally think that these devices have problems with switching from one to the other as signals become stronger & weaker, and that's when connections get dropped etc.
I discovered this when trying to use MSN messenger to give me a kind of push email on hotmail. It worked, but only while logged in to messenger, and when the connection dropped, so did the log in!
So, now I'm always connected by gsm, and when I really want to download something quickly etc etc, I switch over to 3g and then back again.
A bit tedious, but at least I know that when I think I'm connected I am!
good answer! it's kinda what i'm thinking now! hell, if the thing is in my pocket should I really care that the d/l speed is whack! like you said I think in future i'll gsm when my device is not in my hands and 3G when i'm browsing!
thanks a lot for the heads up on that app and your advice!
No probs, I've solved most of my issues through this forum, now on the Hermes, and before on the XDA IIi. You'll find it does wonders for your battery life too!
Since last night I have been having slow internet connection on my phone. Even with 4g turn it takes forever to load a page like google.com. Anyone experience this issue. I wonder if my internet radio went bad... I even went as far as putting in the latest radio and pri. I cannot access any apps in the market. The only thin I'm able to do is sync emails.
You should read up on the thread under this one....
Thanks, good to know that I'm not the only one with this issue... thanks for the heads up...
When Im using Google maps and the internet (latest version of Opera) my TD2 is dreadfully slow. Are there any tweaks to speed things up.
Im a bit peeved at the performance of my HTC because someone at work was using an iPhone and using a mapping app that zoomed in and out so fast i could barely believe it, and was connected via 3G, as does mine.
you're using a touch diamond2 ...now if you had an android phone, or something like the HD2 in your hand, you'd be much happier. It's not just your internet speed that matters, but your phone's too.
As it stands, some ROM's to seem to "handle" the internet (and therefore google maps) slightly better.
I personally recomend Energy or Dutty for first time ROMs...you can/will always end up cooking your own to suit your needs
Anyone on the T-Mobile USA have any drop/lag connection issue when playing online games such as dragonplay poker? (same thing with WSOP etc.)
This happen to me just two days ago. My signal bar is FULL on high speed.
I did not make any software changes to my phone and did not drop it either.
I am on 4.2.1 android
I have tried to remove, reinstall and reboot the phone and still have the same issue.
I have no issue when using chrome to browsing the web or getting on facebook.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think I know what the problem is.
Did a speed test and my PING have 951ms. So I think this is more of a tower issue with t-mobile ?
