Twitching screen - Galaxy S II General

I've noticed an annoying bug on my touch screen on my sgs2, and wondered if anyone else has this problem.
Basically, the problem seems to be able to be reproduced by, for example, scrolling the settings menu with your finger, then stopping, but leaving your finger pressed on the screen, as if you were holding it still with your finger. Mine seems to be twitching and moving around slightly, it doesn't stay still.
Not a big deal you may think... But if your an angry birds player or a player of any game or app that requires precision movements then this is an annoying bug.
I'm on ke1. Can anyone else try this for me? Cheers.

Mine had stopped doing it now... But, I have noticed it before, so it seems I have an intermittent problem / fault / bug. Anyway, can everyone post here if they notice this... It happens in every app I've used that involves scrolling.

Nope, mine doesn't do this. And I'm glad about it! Sucks man, trey flashing a different rom.

Are you using a non samsung charger?
This used to be a charger problem, should work flawlessly with the charger thats provided with the phone

Could be a glitch in the motion setting, if you go to settings>motion and test the one where you put you finger on the screen and tilt the phone and the background moves.

Mine twitches etc if it is on charge but smooth when disconnected.

You using the samsung charger?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App

Depends on quality of electric supply out of socket as well as which charger in my experience.

Mine was on charge when it happened, and it still happened some time after, but it stopped soon after.
3rd party charger (I leave my sammy one at home, I'm just using a spare for work)....
Could be that then?

Bizarre clicking noise

My Zoom has started making a loud clicking noise intermittently. Not related to touching the screen. Just a loud click now and then. Almost like a static discharge. Not related to volume settings. Anyone else have this? Any ideas?

It starts clicking right before it grabs you!
I had that and used to restart my Xoom to get rid of it, then disappeared after sometime and don't know how

Looks like another fanboy post? A cockroach got inside during installation, you'll have to return your xoom and buy an ipad 2 ?????
The only way you'll take my Xoom is to pry it from my cold dead hands. But I'm just wondering how best to kill the cockroach!
Mine just started doing this today. I really dont want to have to exchange it for a new one at best buy, thats such a hassle!
i think it's because you are running overclocked. Minw started this after I clocked it to 1.5ghz, set it to 1.2 and no longer does this.
My Epic 4G just recently started doing this intermittently over the past week or two. I'm guessing that it is related to some app that I installed, but I haven't been able to track it down yet.
Mine was doing the same a day or two back sounded like the speakers were clicking for no reason at all, i'm running stock with no hacks or anything of the kind.
Happens to me everytime I run FPSE, doesn't go away until I restart Xoom.
I had this same issue. 2 things I have tracked it down to. Rockplayer pausing a movie. And trillian. I had to uninstall trillian as itwas driving me crazy.

Mine is not rooted and it does it at times. I have to restart the device. I wonder how many other people have this problem.

I had this happen only one time. I was using Remote Desktop from Xtralogic one night and it started making a weird clicking or electrical discharge noise. It sounded like it was coming from the speaker.
I finished my work that night on our server and turned off the Xoom. Never had it happen since.
My Xoom is rooted and overclocked to 1.4Ghz. Most of its use is Remote Desktop, ConnectBot, QuickSSHd and Kindle.

Yeh mine was doing it today, couldn't figure out what was going on. Prob just a software glitch or something causing the speakers to pop.

often happens to me after running some media players like upnpplayer
Did you force close or clear data from some media app running in the background? One or the background items tracks built in ringtones and wiping data will make it forget the factory ringtones. Maybe it's clicking because it's no longer playing a proper audio file?
You'll have to make it rebuild itself somehow if that's the case. Mine fixed itself after a reboot or two.

Keyboard issue

Does anyone have problems with the android keyboard dissapearing? ?? And the only way to get it back is by restarting the phone?
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
I have several issues with the keyboard including the one you mentioned.
If I plug it in to charge it kind if messes with the calibration and when I'm tying it seems like the phone thinks I'm touching all other parts of the screen (like hitting the backspace will type P's in the text field)
I've also experienced something with the new m.Facebook where ill tap on text field and it'll open up the keyboard but it'll hide again. I have to try to open it sometimes more than 7 or 8 times before it stays open.
I'm thinking of unrooting it and taking it to best buy (I got the protection for it) I've just been lazy about it lol.

My keyboard will sometimes partly disappear and become unresponsive. It gets really weird when I switch the phone back and forth from landscape. The only way to fix it for me is to restart the phone.

If I use a third party charger from china to charge my Nexus S, the touchscreen goes crazy too lol. The original charger doesn't do that
The worse offense of the keyboard is still the double-letter glitch with the first letter of words (for "eexample"). Still rampant since 2.3.3.
If y'all want to add your recent experiences to the keyboard glitch report I filed with Google, please do: http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=14755
I have the same issue. The keyboard will disappear and they will just be empty space where it was. If you remember where the buttons are u can still type its there u just can't see it (great, right! ) . I am running stock 2.3.3 and I have done a factory reset for that and other issues but it comes back. I have to turn the phone off and back on to resolve.... until it comes back at least. Happens at least once a week sometimes a lot more sometimes less. Either way, very annoying.
So, no, it's not just you.

Which ROM, SPL & Radio are you using?

Not sure, how do I find out this info?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA Premium App
I bought a G1 from Ebay that had this problem. The touch screen would not work at all, or it would occasionally register my input in weird places. Downgrading it (I was in the process of rooting it, installed CM6) solved this problem.
Later I noticed this behaviour happen again, but it would only happen if I plugged it into a certain charger. Take the charger out, touchscreen is fine. Does this problem happen to you if you plug it in the charger? Do you have a third party charger?

Anyone else having this problem

Ive already taken one gs4 during my 14 day period for it massivley getting hot. Anyone else had this issue

Mobile devices can get up to 110 degress(or more) in certain circumstances. For example, when playing highly graphical/intense games, while GPS navigating/streaming music, streaming/playing movies, or AC charging... or any combination of the aforementioned.

I get that, but that doesn't change what I'm talking about. If you're doing any of the things I've mentioned on the phone, it can get very hot and yes, it will turn itself off to protect itself from overheating. Your car and computer do the same things. Overclocking can also cause the phone to generate more heat than normal.
If you're trying to tell me that you're just talking on the phone, letting it sit idle on your desk, and/or looking at Facebook and you're reaching those temperatures, I A) find that hard to believe B) need to know more information to try and help you find out what's going on.
I get your trying to help me and I realize that but your firdt assumption in 100% correct. Yes. I find it hard to believe to but thats what happened

Did you ever try turning off wifi, Bluetooth, GPS separately to see which is causing the heat up. That level of heat sounds like a defect but it still would be isolated to a particular component. Should have checked the battery too.

You got a replacement, correct? Is the new one okay? It could have been a bad module or a bad contact not conducting properly. In any case it does seem like a rare thing. I actually love how this phone doesn't get very hot.

[Q] What happened to my power button?

I was using my phone like any other day, and then I locked my phone and later on went to wake the screen and it wouldn't wake up. I did a "battery pull" (power+volume down) and it rebooted fine. When it came back on, I tried to press the button to lock the screen but to no avail. I went on and got smart screen on and it works okay but I'd like to know if any of you know what's wrong with it. It feels fine, clicks like normal. I haven't dropped it recently or anything. But sometimes, when I barely touch the power button, the power menu opens. I don't really understand that but if any of you have any help for me, that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Kinda sounds like a hardware issue maybe some pocket lint or something wiggled it's way in there... Take it apart and have a look..you would be surprised as to what can work it's way in there

Just suddenly began working the next day. I don't exactly know why... Maybe an app or something had it confused. I really don't know.
