Need help - Wildfire General

Hi I have a HTC wildfire on Vodafone with the newest android version loaded, the problem that I have is that it keeps on locking up and the only way to clear it is to take the battery out but sometimes this does not work as it locks up again. It is very frustrating anyone can help me many thanks.

Freezes or what?

Have you tryed you phone with out the SD card in ?
I have read that it might be that causing the falt

I had a similar issue and it was indeed a faulty SD card.
I highly recommend checking if you still have issues without it

[Q] T-Mobile HTC HD2

Hi i have a T-mobile HTC HD2 and i need some help. I have tried many builds including NAND and SD card android builds and also windows 7 but i seem to have a problem with my phone constantly freezing inside android or even when im trying to load MAGLDR sometimes it does a weird vibrate about 7 times. This is my main issue i tried to do task29 and restore everything and retry flashing it over but the problem seems to still occur i was wondering if anyone has a similiar problem and can help me diagnose whats wrong. It seemed to work fine before no freezes i dropped my phone several times I am not sure if that would cause it to freeze a lot or not. Thank you
I would highly suggest flashing everything back to stock and seeing if your warranty is still in effect, sounds like a possible hardware failure.

[RESET] HD2 reset when i play the games

hi HD2 users
I instaled some games in Chevron HD2 phone but when i play the games some times the phone freeze and reset.
Other functions are working good.
Does everbody know the solution for this?
thx
I have this problem when I am on the phone it just freezes and cancels the call and I can't do anything but it doesn't reset.
Change the SD card and you will be fine.
Have had the same issue and it sounds like an SD card problem. Try another one, seemed to fix mine. Also, I may be wrong but I believe this post belongs in Q&A and not development...

Random freezes while phone is on standby (DK 4.4, happens on other roms as well)

Hey
I'm running DK 4.4, and my phone just appears to be randomly freezing while it's in my pocket.
I should note this has been happening with other roms as well, so I seriously doubt it's a rom issue.
I'm not overclocked (anymore).
The screen just won't turn on.
People can even call me and to them it seems like it's ringing, but it's not and nothing happens.
The only way to recover from that seems to be to take the battery out and put it back in.
I finally managed to catch it in action and have a look at the log, but I couldn't find anything useful.
Maybe someone else can
logcat:
http://pastebin.com/kS3EnPQa
Also, I should mention the freeze happened a couple of minutes before the end of this logcat, the log keeps updating even though the phone appears frozen.
adb shell doesn't seem to work, though, and neither does adb reboot
Thanks
Hi. Flash an old 2.1 stock RUU original rom, root again and check if the phone works. Sounds like a Software or Hardware issue. Otherwise you can try to wipe phone and test the DK ROM again.
Do you use cache to ext? Download and install free app ap2sd GUI from Market and move cache back to internal. Maybe your sd card should be Checked too.
Do you use the default dk Kernel without over or downclock under 3cxphone MHz?

Fair enough, I'll try it.
I'm curious, though, are you actually seeing something in the log?
As for the cache to ext, my dalvik cache used to be on my SD card, but I already moved it back thinking it might be the issue
EDIT: as for the kernel, I use the original DK one (iirc that's the original HTC kernel?), shouldn't be over/underclocked.
I had this same issue and was about to return my Wildfire, but then the microSD died! So I got a new one and its been fine ever since so maybe try another card if you can and if the above suggestion doesn't work.

Thanks for the suggestions!
I'll be sure to try them. Maybe my Wildfire isn't on its death bed after all
Your not the only one my GFs phone has the dame prob plz do let me know if u manage to fix it. Thx
P.s. her phone's completely stock no root no nothing.

It definitely seems like it's the SD card.
I tried using a different one and I haven't had any problems for about 48 hours.
Will update if it changes
Thanks a lot for the suggestions, guys!

Sd card unexpectedly removed - big problem

I've done quite a bit of searching around this but haven't got much answers..
I'm getting this problem about 2-3 times a day lately. Sometimes I can get through a day or two without it but its extremely annoying.
Using revolution HD rom with the standard 8gb card that comes with the desire HD.
Does anyone else have this problem much and is there any better solution than having to reboot the phone?

Defragment your sd card in windows or use the chkdsk tool!
Sent from my DHD running Android Revolution 5.1.4 using Tapatalk
Its definitely a problem with the card. When my card, the one that came with the phone, broke I was about to play some music and it got through like half a song before every single song started skipping and it said "Unable to play this type of audio file" on each one. When it got to the end of the playlist it said "Insert a memory card you twit". Well, those werent the exact words but you get what I mean
Your card may still be fixable if you format it, defragmenting does nothing on flash memory and SSD drives as it is a whole different architecture to HDD's for which defragmenting is designed.
So, do a format of the card and see what happens.

do you use es file explorer?
Thanks for the suggestions, I tried doing a full format but no luck. The card seems to perform fine otherwise, just this happens randomly every other day.
I'm wondering is it anything to do with the rom, can't remember if it used to happen on stock or not but fairly sure it did :/
Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk
it s happened to me with the root explorer option on the file manager...i ve uninstalled the prog and installed it again from the market and it s ok...(sorry pour mon anglais)
It happens on mine if the phone shuts down or I switch it off. I just unpop the card and then reinsert it. That seems to do the trick.

I would get another memory card to test with and if that doesnt work I would consider installing a custom ROM which are far more stable and feature rich than anything HTC puts out.
From a friend
I got a friend that had 2 sd cards fried by a DHD.
Maybe there is something problematic on the hardware side ... faulty contacts/springs or something. try other cards/clean contacts with industrial alcohol.
Mine has no problem. Removed the card couple of times (>10) and for the moment no problems.
Hope u can fix it.
Samsung 8G Class2 Sd Card unexpectedly removed happen more than 3 times a day.
This seems to have been fixed for me since switching/upgrading to Cyanogenmod 7. Will report back here if it happens.
Any updates here? My problem started happening after getting my unit repaired under warranty. Same OS, same card. Tried several cards and they all have the same problem. Considering that pull & reinsert solves the problem, as does simply rebooting, I'm betting that this is a bug that is either software related or can be easily fixed in software.
I've been having the same problem too. It seems to be completed random when it happens. Nothing I can particularly put my finger on which is causing it. Using RCMix3D Bliss version 1.3 ROM and standard 8GB card that came with the phone
Yeah the problem seems to span across software versions, meaning that it likely has it's root at the hardware level, but there must be an easy software fix to avoid this problem...
I am using the latest MIUI rom and when I surf in the stock gallery for a while the SD removes after a few seconds. It not happens using other apps (for now...)

Serious issue with Android

For the past month or so I've suffered from random major lag that forces me to reboot the device. For an idea of how bad the lag is: the television animation when putting the phone into standby in Android 2.3 will take up to 10 seconds to complete.
I've attempted different nand android builds, including sense builds, non sense builds, and cyanogenmod and all give me the same issue.
I've done task 29 multiple times, and even flashed a winmo rom on to the phone and then reverted back to Android and the problem is still occuring. I've also attempted formatting my SD card, and trying a different SD card to no avail.
Sometimes it'll take an hour of rebooting the phone to get it to stop fatally lagging for a few hours.
I'm getting the Sensation on Wednesday however I'm selling this phone to a cousin and/or keeping it and would like to fix it.
Help please...thank-you in advance
Edit: I'm using the tmous version
