I have app2sd and i cant install (in SD) because my phone is get error:Not enough space. but i have more than 2Gb free space.
Titanium Backup information says the app2sd has 210MB and 30MB are free.
SD card is actually 4Gb and 2Gb are free.
As it happens, the Titanium app2sd says that the directory is the same amount of mb that the phone's internal memory, so the question is how the app2sd is only compatible with the same amount of internal memory the phone?
Thanks

i don't understand your question.. are you using custom rom? does your SD card have partitions?
Mine fails all the time with this and other errors trying to move again normally helps btw mine 4GB 300MB free
Sent from my U20i using XDA App
ROM version is MiniCM6 1.0.2.
When I try to move an app to SD, I get a window that says not enough space.
And if I open the Bakcup Titanium tells me that they are free only 32mb of 121mb IN SD, but the SD has a single partition of 4GB and 2GB is free.

It could be because you wiped cache with your apps on internal storage, you must wipe cache when you got all your apps moved to sd, of You made it with apps on your phone, you have to reinstall your apps and then you can move it, at least it worked for me.

Thanks, but not for nothing do a Wipe Cache.
I have noticed that after restarting an app lets me through, but only to the following and tell me that there is no space.

Gracias, pero no ha servido para nada hacer un Wipe Cache.
He notado, que después de reiniciar me deja pasar una app, pero solo una, a la siguiente ya me dice que no hay espacio.

Move zip file to root of sd card.
Go into xrecovery and select install custom zip
and i recommend ext3 sd card partition.
You can use ext2 or ext4 but i think with ext3 will be faster.
Thats all!!!!!
Enyoy.
Warning:There are sometimes problem when partitioning sd card. You need to try several times until worked.
When you boot your phone first time aplications will not work so wait few minutes and shut down the phone and turn it on then all will be ok.

Yes and it worked
Great, can you post bugs if you know so i can fix them probably and can you tell me what partition you use?
Thanks for testing.
I haven't recognized any bugs. But it would be nice if this script moves dalvik cache to sdcard like the mod posted in the forum.
btw: I'm using a 8GB class6 card with ext3 partition (size: 1.4 GB)
If i do so some of functions will not work like wi-fi,3g etc...
If someone who have memory card class 2 can test if this will work on it i will be very thankful.
Thanks.

In a few words, it script should move all settings file of system into external memory, but it not consist of script which moves dalvik cache to SD (all installed apps are still in internal memory)
Yes, would be great if you can modify the script that it does the same like this:

hi guys ,
i have a 16 gb sandisk class 4 sdhc card and currently i am using rom HYPERDROID GBX V12 by pongster .
before installing the rom through clockwork mod recovery , i partitioned the sd card with 1024 size and 0 swap size.
but my internal storage is only showing 257 Mb
and after installing a few apps, my internal storage has become low ,
is there any way to virtually increase the internal storage by utilising the SD card storage???
can this be done without formatting the phone or the ROM ,ie.,without losing data ??
HELP APPRECIATED.
THANK YOU.

no it did not work that way...
You could partition your sd card, adding an ext2,3 or 4 partition and install DarkTremor's A2SD script. Then your apps will be installed into your ext partition on your card instead of in your phone's memory. And using the A2SD GUI app from the Android market, you can put your dalvik-cache to the partition, and do some other cool stuff. If you cant find DT's A2SD script by searching for it, I can attach the working version that I have to this post when I get home.
Edit: Attached a good working version. Flash it via CWM, after you allocate an ext4 partition (1 gb is a good size) on your sd card.

1. In CWM Recovery, under 'Advanced', theres an option to partition your sd card.
2. By partitioning your card, you are allocating an amount of space to be used as an ext2/3/4 partition. Doesn't really matter which you use, but ext4 is said to give the best performance. I'm pretty sure CWM creates an ext4.
3.By moving all your installed apps to the sd partition, you are freeing up internal storage in your phone. I have hundreds of apps installed, my phone has 650mb internal storage available, runs smooth as butter, and I still have half of my 1gb partition free.
Thanks i did the partition and installed an app called " modinstall" by mskip and now all my apps by default install in sd card
But why is my internall storage only 270 mb by default without any apps in it??
Sent from my HD2 using XDA App
Do you have a EU HD2, or a TMOUS one? The European ones have far less ROM space. You could try a smaller system partition by modifying the flash.cfg file in the folder which you flash CWM from, just do a nandroid backup in CWM first, then restore it into your new smaller system partition after re-flashing CWM with the smaller system partition. I wouldn't go any smaller than 150 mb for a non-Sense ROM, if you go too small then your ROM won't boot up, or will have too little room to run comfortably. But too large a system partition will just waste internal storage space.
But if all your apps are getting installed to your partition by default, 200+ mb is more than enough internal storage for your phone to run nice and smooth. But that's also why I recommend DT's A2SD script, because not only does it move all your apps to the partition, but your dalvik-cache too (anywhere from 30-75 mb) and with the A2SD GUI app, it's easy to do more to make your phone run smooth, like enabling zipalign at bootup.
I have an EU hd2 now i hav installed the zip file of apps2sd u hav attatched in ur reply
I hav downloaded an application apps 2 sd from market to move phone apps to sd ut the only issue is that
Now after moving to sd , a few apps like angry birds, glow hockey and many other games or apps give an error and force closes but when these apps are moved back to phone they run smoothly !!
Why is that that these few apps are not running in sd card???
Sent from my HD2 using XDA App
Though my apps are getting installed in sd card by default but many of the apps do not run unless they are moved to phone's memory !!!
Is there any solution???
I really prefer this method by which my apps are installing in sd card by default but how can i avoid the force close errors in some of the apps ??? Eg - angry birds
Thank you

I've xcd35 also known as zte blade. I've not installed many applications, still I see only around 25MB free space in my phone memory
What can be the reason for this ?
Have you taken a lot of photos or videos possibly and are those not being saved on the SD card?
Yes, i did took many photos but they are on my sd card.
Still I don't know where did the space go.. can anyone help me in getting back my space ?
Maybe you should install some app such as file manager from market (I can't provide a link, search "file manager", it's the first result by rhythm software). Then go ahead and select "Storage analysis" after clicking menu. It'll do a complete scan of your phone+SD-card and then shows you the biggest space hoarders.
I installed file manager and it says following,
device total memory: 162.5 M
device free memory : 24.57M
sd total memory: 1.86M
sd free memory: 1.15M
Also, it gives the biggest space holders, but all those are in my sd (like one app tak 570+ MB and my documents take 33M, both are in my sd).
the list all space holders includes the folders in sd card only.. How do I see status of internal memory ?

The 162.5MB is the total internal memory available for your apps and their data. The 24.57MB is how much of that is free at the moment. When you move an app to the sdcard, some of it is left behind on the internal memory, so you can't get rid of all of it. You can increase the amount of internal memory available by creating an ext partition on your sdcard (though it looks like you only have a 2GB sdcard, so you wouldn't have much space left for music etc. on it) and then using something like darktremor a2sd to move your apps to the new ext partition. This works differently from the normal move to sdcard as it allows you to move the whole app so frees more space.
The other option is repartitioning the internal memory. This means you take some of the space from where the rom is installed, and add it to the data partition so you can make use of it. For this to work well you need to use/be using a custom rom as the stock ones wont fit in the reduced space.

This isn't really a long term solution. The dalvik cache is needed by the phone, so wiping it will only temporarily give you more space until the phone rebuilds it all once you use your apps again. The cache partition is separate from the data partition, so wiping that would make no difference to how much space you have available.

Which ROM you are working on? It seems like you have stock ROM as you are unaware of CWM. If you are using stock rom, you need to switch to any custom rom to flash darktremor a2sd so that you can partition you sd card and install applications on them. You can get complete tutorial on installing CWM and custom rom from cyanogenmod website. You can uninstall bloatwares if there any to free your phone memory.

You need to root and install a custom rom to partition both internal as well as external memory efficiently. You can flash darktremor a2sd script that allows you to install apps on partitioned sd card to your rooted stock rom but it won't work (didn't work for me).
Almost all the custom rom come with darktremor a2sd pre-installed on it. So it is advised to switch to any custom rom. But beware, both rooting and installing custom rom will void your warranty. Once you install a custom rom, i'm sure you will love it.
You can find guide on partitioning internal memory on the following links
h**p://android.modaco.com/topic/339048-guide-flashing-firmware-to-bladelibra-via-windows/
and here
h**p://android.modaco.com/topic/337426-gen1gen2partition-layout-tool-windows-only/
But i personally won't recommend partitioning you internal memory as the following ICS rom uses the default like partition.
You can follow the following link below to root and flash cyanogenmod
h**p://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php?title=ZTE_Blade
If you find rooting steps given in the guide difficult you can install z4root from following link and install it on your phone to root the phone easily.
h**p://www.4shared.com/file/TA3fZuTc/z4root_zte_blade_permanent_roo.html
Once you install cyanogenmod install "ROM MANAGER" from market and there you will find the option to partition your sd card.

You can partition the sdcard from ClockworkMod recovery, which you need to flash the custom rom or the darktremor scripts to make use of the ext partition. Some roms come with it pre-installed, others you have to flash it separately.
You can repartition the internal memory by TPT or Windows flasher. TPT is the easier and safer method. From your internal memory stats you posted earlier, it looks like you are stock Gen 2, but download the Mr Pigfish app from the market to check.
If it says you are Gen 1, then you can use one of wbaw's TPTs from his thread on here, or you can use them from my app. Once you use one of these, you will be converted to Gen 2 as well.
If you are Gen 2 already then you are most likely stock Gen 2 and will need to use the TPT's from my app (choosing the stock Gen 2 option when it starts), from the thread I made on here, or by using the Windows flasher.
Here's a tip that I just recently discovered.
Since apps that are flashed in your rom (like Market) cannot be deleted in a conventional sense, a duplicate of the app is created whenever they are updated. I found an app called apps2rom that moves the updated version to the rom, and deletes the old version.
I got a good 10mb from that.
I have installed MIUI.us-Leo-2.4.27-HWA.ZIP in to my HTC HD2. Everything is working fine except Camera and phones internal memory is very low, only 25MB resulting cannot update any existing applications.
My phones total internal memory memory is 151MB and available is only 25MB.
SD card total space is 15GB and available is 9GB which is fine.
Total downloaded applications are 26 only, so it is not that I have too many application downloaded.
I moved most of the downloaded and other applications to SD card by using titanium backup. Few could not be moved for unknown reason as it does not give me option to move.
Can anyone please help me to increase my internal memory to at least at 70 or 60MB please.
Would appreciate your help.

Yes, it is NAND ROM. The recommended partition was above 200mb and I used 250mb, so it was okay.
All I need to increase my internal space at least to 60 or 70mb so that application update can be done.
Many thanks
The ROM suggested 200, but you installed 250. You just lost 50 worth o internal storage.
You'll need to install an A2SD script, in order to be able to use your sd card as an internal storage. (of course, after making an ext2 partition )

My Atrix is with the stock rom and bootloader locked.
When I open Titanium Backup it shows me:
Memory ROM: 334 MB (9.34 MB free)
Internal: 2.11 GB (1.49 GB free)
SD: 11.5 GB (10.9 GB free)
I'm not sure due to the low MEMORY ROM, that when I try to install any app it returns me insufficient space message.
My doubt is to know the difference between the memory ROM and RAM memory, and if there is any way to increase the free memory that is shown in Titanium.
The ROM memory is for the ROM. it has nothing to do with apps you install. It's like drive C for windows, anything else you install is installed on a different partition. In the case of the Atrix that would be the 2GB internal memory.
