Dear Mr. Sherwood,
Thank you for contacting Acer. We are pleased that you have selected a ACER product and give you information about your request.
Since Google has lost a lawsuit in Germany and may call his e-mail accounts only googlemail it is not possible to change the language.
If you want this device to use Android with an English version, unfortunately, the only way is the purchase of a British unit.
See here

about how to reflash your device with stock US firmware. (Which is the one that the devices sold in Greece come with)
Thanks huxflux2003 .. very helpful but I am a noobie... I am concerned to start messing with Kernal etc.. have we got to a stage where we can flash one stock file yet?...
I am willing to donate
Cheers
Paul
I was very disappointed about that too.
But there's a simple solution: Just use an app like "More Locale 2" (market.android.com/details?id=jp.co.c_lis.ccl.morelocale) an create a custom locale with language "en" and country "DE" (using GB or US made the market app crash occaionally, but you can try this anyway).
No rooting required.
(Almost) no side effects: The only thing that doesn't work is the "clear.fi" app. It tries to load a local file according to the locale, which it cannot find. But than again, I have no use for this app anyway and UPnPlay does the same.
Many thanks to out of box thinking.. after visiting market place the any locale app unlocked the language.. now purchased xda premium app to show some support

I have not run into any Korean language related developers on this xda forums yet.
I was able to install and run Korean language with help from some of Korean HD2 users group forum,
but that was when I had Touch Pro 2 phone.
Now, I bought HD2 last week and have been trying to Koreanized(한글화) my HD2 with no success.
NO, I take it back. I was 75% successful on HD2 compares to Touch Pro 2.
I was using HD2 method on The Touch Pro 2 and got 99% working.
Only a few menu items are not in Korean and input method was excellent in both Korean and English.
I've posted results of Touch Pro 2 on this link. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=644091
Now, with my new HD2, most of bottom menus are unreadable (small squares) and input methods locks up in Korean and can't type English.
I've posted problems and only recomendations so far is to soft reset up to 3 times. I have soft reset many times. Still NO GO.
PHP:
This is one of Korean HD2 forum.http://www.mymits.net/zboard/zboard....page=2&no=5757
Perhaps, You'll have a better luck. (Good Luck )
Please post with any results you'll get. It would be greatly useful to everyone whom seeks for Koreanized (is this a word? )
How to install Korean language on HD2
Hi All,
I was gonna edit prior post, then it may get messy so here is another post.
I've tried installing Korean language on my HD2 for couple of days and finally made it happen. WooHoo
I was having troubles because I tried staying with roms I liked. Then I finally gave up and installed "Lost in Asia" rom.
The Lost in Asia rom is already multi-language (Eng. and Chinese). Therefore (I believe) it had necessary files to accept Korean installation.
After the installation of rom Lost in Asia, I've installed 1 to 6 of MyMits Korean installation steps then I've installed Moa key cab and WALA. All main menus are changed to Korean.
Let me see if I can help you guys out...I'm Korean myself and had been trying to install Korean language support on my hd2 t-mo US for awhile now. Now...I'm not sure exactly what you wanted...the ability to read Korean font and text in Korean font? Or...like the previous poster, are you trying to change the entire UI (menu's, etc) on your hd2 to complete Korean?
If that's the case you will probably have to install the lost in asia rom...I'm almost positive with other rom versions or stock US rom's it's just not possible, but don't quote me on that.
If you want the ability to read Korean font and message (type in Korean) go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=646728
Follow those steps...download and install the Korean font .cab => than install the moakey .cab
Than go into start menu -> settings -> personal -> input settings and change it to moakey. You can change the settings on moakey to your tastes as well.
Don't forget you can hold down the keyboard icon when typing to open up the message options screen and you can switch back and forth between the different message input methods on the fly.
I'm personally using the newest version of Energyrom April 1st, hspl2, T-Mo US w/ no issues.
One other thing to note, you can definitely read Korean fonts now...but when you put mp3's etc into media player or core player (whatever you use) alot of the Korean titles won't display properly...it's not because the K-language support isn't working, it's just that those programs need separate K-language support.
Hope this helps =_) 좋은 하루~!!
thnks all!!!!
So I installed a Custom Rom, but now I cant find my language on the swype-settings. Is it any way to install this again?

I don't think so.
/Feras - Galaxy Tab
Some developers leave that stuff out because the file space is a little tight. What rom is this, as a warning to others needing that language?
Go to the market and see if the more locale app will give you your language.
I have the same issue. I tried both roto-jmi and r1 modaco custom and i lost my original input methods. More locale seems to only allow me to change the os language but it does not allow me to change the input language.
It would be extremely helpful if someone could chime in and help identify the language input packages.

I flashed JMG, and JMI, but went back to JME v.4 for the languages. With previous phones I have removed the swype language locale from the old rom and moved it into the new rom. I searched xda for a while until I found out how.
You can get a keyboard app from the market, maybe you can get your preferred language.
Thx for the info. If you happend across that thread would you mind sending the link my way. Otherwise it looks like I need to spend more time digging.
Cheers
Hi,
I have upgraded the ROM on my SGS2 to Cognition S2 v1.15 (from v 1.08) (many thanks designgears), and Hungarian language has disappeared from Swype.
How can I get it back? Is there a file which I have to copy over from the previous version?
Cheers,
Endre
Remember me here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1169939&page=5
Maybe I can help you.
Thanks for your help.
I've read through that thread, and I will try to change my apk following your instructions.
What does prevent us to add a new language? Why do we have to change an unused one? Where does Swype store the list of available languages?
I use what it works. It works for you? I suggest to post the answer in the thread that I told you.
I have not changed it yet. My phone (not overclocked) keeps resetting itself randomly so I will bring it back to the shop hoping they will change it.
Hello all. My uncle came to me for help. He has an Acer A500 tablet but romanian language pack is missing. So he asked me if I could install it for him so he could better use the device. This is my first time interacting with tablets or android but I like to get my hands dirty so If there's any option available just point me in the right direction please. Like something basic how to root the device then how to add the language pack to some ROM image or whatever the process is. Thank you.

It would help to know which version OS is he using. (HC or ICS). Sometimes it's not so simple as "adding a language pack". My guess, is to make it easier, to root, install CWM, and install a rom designed for his region. But this will depend on what version Android he is running now.
It can sometimes be complicated, but we will help you out.

Hi,
For some resaon Languages are missing in S5 in the some SM-G900F/H in europ (system languages)
and SM-G900A /G900T /G900W8/ G900M /G900T1 etc.. the USA Deviecs...
Especially from the USA I understand that Samsung removed the Non-US languages.
Like Arabic and hebrew etc... there is anyway to Enable them without rooting and morelocal2 ?
Many of my Friends try with root and morelocal2 and it dosn't work at all (USA Deviecs).
Maybe A script that Give permission to CHANGE_CONFIGURATION for morelocal2 without root? (4.2+ need that)
Or there is a way to extract from the orignal Roms in different countries or my country?
with & without rooting:
How to Enable Languages in the S5 Keyboard & T9 dialer ?
thank you!

It's not practical to support all languages on a single firmware version. The most obvious answer would be searching to see if any carriers using your S5 model support the languages you want. Then install that firmware. If you live in an Arabic country or Israel that shouldn't be at all hard. If you live in an English speaking country, then your request is esoteric, but have a look and it may well be that they are included in the firmware from one carrier or another.
Second, see if there are any apps to add localized languages. Google used to maintain an Android language pack but it appears depreciated after 4.2. An app like Set language would at least direct apps to use the language you want, even if the UI was still English. So that would be a partial solution as well.
And have you done a good search of XDA? There may already be threads doing what you wish, but as you can appreciate this is not of interest to most people and no one has read every thread on XDA.
.
Thank you!
But,I think it must be a way to extract Languages from the orignal Roms in different countries,
Even NeatROM that has all the Languages and put it in USA Deviecs. (with or without root)
Even get the Keybord from his rom..
I just don't know how to do that

Sure there is. But that doesn't mean that it is easy to do or even that there is much interest in doing so. It is one of the reasons that I suggested you do a search of the Play Store and XDA - to find out if anyone has already repackaged or otherwise extended language support.
If you haven't done an exhaustive search, then you don't know yet if what you want is already available.
.
I try to find Languages Pack in S5 & Note 3 in XDA even in old Samsung fourm and no luck there,
Languages.XML don't work anymore becasue samsung remove the Languages. (as far as I know)
So no luck!
Update:
I found this: but what it does - (/dev/block/mmcblk0p12) ?

I have no idea what your question is.. since you didn't pose it.
The block address (path) points to the S5 EFS partition.
.
Using an unlocked SM-G900A (the ATT variant) in Brazil and everything works fine (even the 4G LTE).
The phone is rooted (towelroot) and tried a number of language enabler apps (Language Enabler, More Locale 2, etc.)
I want to change the phone to use Portuguese-Brazil.
I have search the forum extensively, but can't find anything how to install additional languages on this model. I found this thread, but it seems to have died out a month ago and other user reports errors trying to install a SM-G900M firmware on this S5 model.
