First of all lets not turn this into a war of the mobile OS's....Everyone has their own oppinions and needs, which is why there will NEVER be a definitive answer to the Question: Which is better, WinMo or Android? So please dont start flamewars or fanboy arguments in this thread.
The purpose of this poll is to determine how many of you will be 'switching' to Android on a pemanent basis, and how many of you will be sticking with Windows Mobile in some capacity.
I ask this because originally when I first tested Android, I envisaged myself sticking with Windows Mobile when a flashable Android ROM was released.
Then as great progress began to be made with the AndroidHD2 development, I began to think that windows was dead to me and I eagerly awaited the NAND version of Android.
Now I am beginning to think that I might stick with a dual boot option even when the NAND version comes. Ideally I would like to have Android as my flashed ROM with a version of WM 6.5.x running from SD as a dual boot option.
So... When the NAND Flashable version of Android for HD2 comes...What will you do?
(I know this should be in the 'General HD2 Android' section but there isn't one...yet. Mods, please move when possible).
I like the widgets and backgrounds, android is just so much easier.
But for tomtom, I'll still be using my winmo. Some stuff just req windows to function.
So, best of both worlds, I guess..
If i can still retain WinMo then sure, why not... but if it's not possible then i'll stick to the Micro SD card. I wouldn't want to give up my ability to dual boot.
The Android builds are fast enough anyways on the card and i'm sure a class 6 Micro SD will be faster than the NAND anyways.
As well as in PCs, having dual boot means you can use both OSes Apps. So I will stick to dual boot.
I plan on buying the next big android phone tmobile and htc come up with (and i have a nexus one), so my hope for the hd2 is flashing wp7. I dont know if you nand flash if you would be able to flash wp7 if there are gonna be wp7 roms.
ANDROID: NAND
WINMO:SD card
Ubuntu: SD card
iOS4: SD card
and I wish having a new bootloader possible to select before splashscreen.
Cheer!

Now THATS what Im talkin about!
Even the iOS4 might make it onto my card if a version was ever released for HD2...one more app store cant hurt
Here's the thing
If we flash Android to nand, will there be any going back? Will there ever be updates to future versions of android? This is the primary thing to me, if the dev's will continue to upgrade Android for future versions then I might flash, but if it's kind of a one and done, I'd probably stick with dual booting. I'm also hoping that there is eventually a wp7 port for the hd2 as well...
I'm thinking if it's worth investing in a class 6 card to keep dualboot, what do u guys think about the performance difference between NAND and Class 6?

same for me, the other gps software are.... not as good and easy as tomtom.
I will use Winmo for tomtom only and the rest on android
maybe tomtom release a android version

Would it ever be possible to have iOS on a hd2? That would be great for all the extra apps.
I am happy with Android on SD card and dual booting.
I prefer the functionality of a dual boot, but in appealability I would much prefer to run Android as a day to day phone when the nand is finally ported. But I wouldn't jump in feet first,I'd hope that it was totally reversible and not flash back & forth, just that winmo could stay as an option to return to. And that the devs can continue to feed us with fresher versions when they become available.

And I'm thinking there is a different thread on that subject
i prefer winmo over the android , im returning to winmo , its just my openion :!
Bye bye winmo
The only thing that winmo is doing in my phone right now is to help me to run haret.
sure i would flash it, just to satisfy my curiosity, but i would eventually stick with dual booting winmo and android on SD.
NAND is so close....the Devs are finishing the structure port...them is a question of work to give the polish in all.
today the dev work is located on leds notification.
were is the status thread?
for the poll, I will make what turns more eficient the performance of Android....including the question of baterie life, very important.

This is great news! i really do start reading the dev channel logs to keep up to date
triple booting
i am sticking with triplebooting android ,ubuntu, winmo.i am using a class 4 card and the speed is great, moving up to class 6 .my hd2 with android scores better than my brothers evo on linpack, and quadrant.
At the moment I will stay on dual boot. Cant wait for a really stable Android for HD2 If we can get TomTom or iGO8 on Android then i will go with it on NAND.
Hi everybody
I was wondering which version of Android is better for HTC HD2, is NAND better or the SD card method.
right now i am using the sd card method (but it loads the android in the ram so it is fast) but i dont have allot of ram left and i would like more space on my SD card for other stuff , and also i dont care about windows mobile as long as the nand is stable.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=870518 (this is the sd card version i m using)
and also another request: if u choose NAND can u all tell me which version to use. (preferance Froyo) but u can say what ever you want.
P.S sorry mods and admins if i m repeating the question that has been asked before

NAND ROM's are just as stable and typically provide a little better performance as far as battery life and responsiveness. As far as what ROM to use it's impossible to say what's best... but I am using Sergio's Core Droid series and it is beautiful as well as very fast, and it has a ton of followers. I would suggest it as one to try out...
I have one on sd still with jdms, and one nand with mdj 2.3 both work nice and both have there problems but if you ever want to remove your sd with the phone on than nand, but to me sd seems the safer bet if you want a everyday build with not a lot of problems.
Hey All,
I am new to the HD2, i bought it after i gave my HTC Desire to my girlfriend and found out the HD7 i got was not correct for my network (dodgy australian thing). So i sold the HD7 an with the money bought a HD2 and had some spare
What i want to do is see if I can triple boot the HD2. That is use WinMo 6.5 on the nand and boot WP7 and Android from SD.
I have found this article:
http://www.techautos.com/2011/01/24/htc-hd2-triple-boots-windows-phone-7-android-winmo-6-5/
it links to XDA here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=913815
I have read that thread and it seems to deal with dual booting WP7 and Android... have i read it wrong and these are the instructions for triple booting?
If they arnt, is it possible to even triple boot these os'es or is simply impossible at this stage?
Thanks for any help!

Hi,
Triple booting is NOT an option.
I do not think there is any way of booting WM 6.5 or 7 from sd.
So you are left with any other combination.
There was work on getting WM6.5 booting from SD but I think that has been abandoned.
Currently you can boot...
NAND: Android, WM, WP (One or the other)
SD: Android, Ubuntu, Meego
Being able to boot WP7 from SD would be awesome..
Dual boot WP7 mango and android from the same sd card which latest sd build can i use ?
Hey friends as mentioned in the title I just want to know out of all the amazing sd builds which one can I use to dual boot with WP7. i tried a few but all say that they are compatible to boot with WM6.5 but couldnt find a sd build capable of dual booting with WP7 and also when looking for such a ROM what are the basic things I should check please advise ( My main intention of using android would be for gaming) Awaiting your help CHEERS
You read it wrong and that is your problem. Compatible with WM6.5 doesn't mean they are incompatible to boot with WP7 or Mango.

Oops my bad thanks for the reply mate but when i try to boot several roms are giving me an error dont remember the error though will post the error as I go home thanks again, but does this mean all sd builds are compatible with dual booting Wp7
No they are not all roms compatible but only the sd roms that say in title that are for magldr.Ιn some sd roms like ics roms that are magldr compatible you can run them directly. For older roms in the rom thread it says what file you must change to make the rom to boot from magldr

I will briefly tell u what u ve to do and u can search there are plenty of guides.
1. install hardspl 2.08
2. install radio 2.15xxx
3. Magldr 1.3
After this then u can dual boot, ad nand 7.5 and ad sd for ics. search and read.
I'm on triple boot (actually dual, ICS or Froyo) using a single 16gig microSD & it's already full
this is what i red before getting started

With MAGLDR.
Once you have your WP7.5 installed, unlock the card (depending on the WP version, might or might not be required), insert into a card reader and create a folder in the ROOT called ICS. Then unzip and transfer your Android ICS version into that folder. Reinsert card. In MAGLDR go to Services, BootSettings, Boot source and select: 1. Android from SD, then in the same place move to 4.AD SD Dir and select ICS (which is the folder into which you transferred your Android install).
When booting you will have your WP in a first position and your Android second.

Yes, Mango is installed on Nand, so you upgrade WM6.5 to Mango first, then you get your Android to run off SD.
'mango flavored icecream'??? REALLY?
guys, plz tell me whether dual boot on htc hd2 gud or bad, i mean to say performance, battery backup affect or not.
Dual boot on HTC HD2 is good. It does not affect performance of Windows Mobile. Nor does Windows Mobile affect other systems. Performance varies according to how you implement (for example Native SD will be slower than other boot methods) abd which ROM you choose.
Cheers
Tom
My Note 4 note for you.
thanks for reply....i want to dual boot my hd2 so what should i do ? I already install wp7 in native sd....so where to install android and is there any sd card requiremext? Thanks in advance.
