Hey people I don't know if anybody has asked this question yet but I'm very curious to know if the motorola xoom keyboard would work for the iconia A500?
it should work just fine, should work with your pc too as well and the playstation 3
Yes, it works.
Thanks for the answers I'm getting it for a really good price so I just wanted to make sure.

The quick launch keys on the top row don't work on the Iconia FYI, that's pretty much the only incompatibility though. Otherwise it works great.

The keyboard works great.
All the keys work for me, even the shortcut keys.

Great device!
Anybody managed to get the Quick controls from the "Lab" settings to work in the stock browser. It seems there are some problems with this feauture on the gal tab.
Also, are there any international versions out there yet? Mine only support UK/US English and Spanish. Samsung Netherlands "promised " that there will be an update. Wonder if there are roms floating around that have international support yet.
Nope. I wriggled my way back into the settings (I think through bookmarks) and disabled it after it nukes my address bar and tabs.

Pretty big omission. Will see if I can get the browser of the Xoom system dump to work. Btw there may be some interesting other goodies in this dump. The dump is posted in the Xoom development forum.
Update: I've just got it to work. There's a trick to it: you've got to slide 1 finger from the frame onto the screen.
Got this from:

Yes I'm familiar with it. I used it on the Xoom. But it doesn't seem to work on my Tab.
Umm.. weird. But try this anyway: I've got it to work once I got into debug mode. I'm pretty sure it didn't work before. So try it out, who knows.

Has anyone pushed swype on to the Xformer ? or is there a zip that can be flashed ?
The built in ASUS keyboard has swipe typing available.

The swiping on the ASUS keyboard is absolute garbage compared to Swype. It might as well not even be there.
Trying to official beta doesn't work - get an error about unsupported screen size.
I haven't tried forcing the issue.
-bZj
Too late for you now but the Amazon app store gave away flex9 keyboard which has swype functionality... in addition to voice dictation and handwriting.
swype feature is pretty good and works on the transformer.
I don't need a signature.
I have Swype and Dasur Slide it on mine and it is not a match made in heaven in the UK - as I have a conflict between the hardware keyboard and the software keyboard. It is very frustrating - as even though I have the software keyboards set to UK keyboards, this somehow alters the hardware keyboard to a US keyboard whne I re-dock. If anyone knows a way around this, I would be very grateful and the Asus trace keyboard is utter poo. I cannot use it. In fact I am not a big fan of Swype, I think Slide it is by far the best in its class.
I read a post here a few days ago showing how you could stop the dock keyboard being changed by the tab keyboard settings. Do search through the development forum. You need to move files around, etc.
I have Swype on mine but I don;t like it on the tab although it is great on my DesireHD. I use the Thumb keyboard which becomes natural very quickly.
EDIT
Here it is: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=14600447#post14600447
Have the newest beta on mine as well, works great! What I tend to do is make use of the resizable keyboard, make ik smaller, position it on the right.
This way I can hold the tablet with my left hand, and swype with the right, without moving too much across the screen.
The fail in combination with the hardware keyboard is a shame, there is a solution, but you do need root, which I haven't got around to yet.

Cheers pal, it's fathers day and I am finally having a day to play with my new toy, so far the launcher has been changed and now it looks like I will be rooted by the end of the day. Didn't think it would last long unrooted.
What's wrong?

I don't understand. I have Swype set as my software keyboard and am using the dock to type this. While I do get the annoying warning about setting the Asus keyboard when I first get things going, I haven't noticed any odd functions, or loss of capability. Am I missing something?

I don't have any problems either.
I think I did change something with the settings when I previously installed thumb keyboard (the @ was coming up as " with the dock keyboard) but I haven't had to do anything with swype.
Edit....I've not got round to rooting yet so I'm completely stock and using the uk layout.

The swype for HC with re sizeable keyboard work great for tablet in landscape mode.
I use Swype on both my Android phones and love it. A perfect present for Fathers day was an email saying that Swype had released a new beta which included additional Honeycomb support!
Sign up and try it out here at beta.swype.com
After all, it's free! (at the moment)
This is pretty cool, thought I'd start a list of games that work great with Tincore Keymapper. It seems you have to have root to get it to work.
So far I've got these games mapped and work great:
Wild Blood
Samurai II: Vengeance THD
GT Racing 2
Great app, adds lots more games to play on the MOJO :good:

I don't see why rooting is required
maybe @tincore knows?
Root is required, because otherwise you can't map touch input buttons to hardware gamepad buttons.
Since not all developers take care of external gamepad support, sometimes, it is necessary to remap touch activity to a hardware key.

Yea, definitely have to root to get the app to work. App is actually very easy to use to create different profiles for different apps. Pretty much any game that has on screen controls can be mapped - as long as you can get through the menus in mouse mode.

Rooting is needed to simulate touches and more. Those are Android limitations.
Another option would be a custom modified firmware.

Awesome. Take into consideration that there is a central server where profiles can be uploaded and downloaded automatically from the app.

I feel idiotic, but I cannot for the life of me get Tincore to work. I've set the buttons to activate the program, but they don't work. It tells me "No device detected" and I have no clue how to get the controller detected.
Suggestions?

Yep.
I've been able to get my PS3 controller to pair through Sixaxis which was pretty cool. I'd forgotten how light the PS3 control is after using the CTRLR for so long.
Anyhow, I followed a few of the videos on YouTube to get myself started. I cannot get the CTRLR to show up as a detected device. Strangely, I was able to set my button combination to get tincore running within the app (so the button presses registered then), but the combination doesn't bring up tincore when I'm in a game. I really like how your app works (from the videos), so I'd appreciate any info or insight on getting it up on the MOJO!
Seriously, though, your app looks pretty awesome. Once I get it working, I'll throw down some cash and buy it.

CTRLR with the USB dongle? I've tested it last night and it was working fine. I plan to check how a few the BT gamepads are working on the MOJO asap.
Click on device discovery just in case.

I haven't had any issues really with tincore. Whenever I started the app, the CTRLR was already loaded in the column - as well as any other devices such as a mouse. All I had to do was put the controller in gamesmart mode to get my buttons out there on screen, then switch back to mouse mode and place each button/control where I wanted them and then went to the column and chose how I wanted the button presses to react. Although, I could never get the app to work within a game. I didn't know how to do that. I would always just load the game, then go back to the homescreen and then back to tincore to make my adjustments.

In the case of devices without touchscreen you can use a key sequence to invoke the mapper on top of the app. Default sequence is Vol- Vol+ Vol- and it should work from the CTRLR.

For those of you that want to use XBMC in the living room without having to turn on the Madcatz C.T.R.L.R controller or using an Android/IOS xbmc remote application then here is a simple solution. Out of the box the device works amazing.

Im going to be modifying the /system/usr/keylayout/Generic.kl file to achieve some custom keys that i want. Feel free to customize your remote I've even uploaded the original generic.kl file in case you forget to back up yours.
to get the keycodes for the buttons install Keytest.apk on the mojo and write the keycodes down.

I can't use the Left mouse button on the MeLE F10 PRO, like with my MeLE M9, to go back one page if i click on it.
Thanks.

I thought xbmc is down and possibly looking like it's gone forever? At least after telling people in a forum it is having new servers then not landing them in the 6 week period stated at the same address navixtreme i'd say it's looking more and more like it's been shut down?
Unless it miraculously reappeared in more recent days or the last few days any way?

Hi,
I have Galaxy Tab 4 10.1, and a bluetooth keyboard I bought for it, and I am using CM13.
The keyboard works fine, and pairs nicely, but when I used the keyboard with the original OS, I was able to do more with the keyboard. I could press Tab to navigate through the icons on the screen for example, which made things much easier.
I couldn't find any advice so I opened this thread. Is there something extra I can install which restores this and other features?
Thanks
I was able to use the arrow keys on my apple bt keyboard to move through icons.

Okay thanks for your answer. I'll have to see if anyone else has had my issue though. The keyboard worked as yours does when I tested with original android OS, arrows moved to icons etc, but things were limited in CM13.
Am I allowed to post a link to my keyboard? I won't in case. It's on ebay uk, Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1" T530 / T535 Bluetooth Keyboard Leather Case + Stand.

This is still unsolved.
I'd have to go back to regular OS so I can use the keyboard but I don't really want to. I can't afford more keyboards to see if that helps.
There must be something I've missed.
Edit: I just had another go at using it, I tried pressing the return key to see if maybe the box around the icons was invisible. It is invisible.
