I've installed applications on my atrix and those applicatons were there shown on my menu for sometime until now suddenly those apps are not shown on my menu! Why is that? Those apps are there in the installed apps catagory with a grey icon and a small sd card icon. Pls tell me how to fix this? This application is shown in the media area in the manage applications section.

More info please. Rooted? P-ROM? Which application/s?

If it's all apps that you installed to the SD card instead of internal storage, it might be that the SD card got unmounted. I get similar behavior sometimes after using USB mass storage mode...every once in a while it won't remount properly when I unplug USB and SD card apps will show installed but won't launch.
Reboot clears it up for me, but wouldn't be surprised if there's another way to fix.

Well,
this problem even I am facing! and its driving me nuts!
For me, I see, all the sideloaded apps are not showing up in "My Apps" menu.
There are solutions given in "Android Market" discussions.
tried them all! none works for me!
you can try them too! (but, they look like may or may not work kinds)
http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Android+Market/thread?tid=107aea64cc0efdd5&hl=en
Another solution:
http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Android+Market/thread?tid=107aea64cc0efdd5&hl=en
This one is pretty elaborate:
http://www.google.ru/support/forum/p/Android+Market/thread?tid=6c697aef456091c7&hl=en&start=40
Still didnt work for me!
Please let me know if any of these work for you.
also do let me know, if any other solution worked!
Thanks,
sony.
I had to reinstall some apps after I rooted with gingerbreak on my Atrix...
I've had that happen too, not rooted.
Kind of annoying.
I tend to see this problem with Angry Birds. It installs to /sdcard. Once the phone formated my /sdcard partition, probably after it thought it was corrupt.

Did you move the applications to the SD card? This happens to me, if the application was moved into SD card, it just disappear whenever I restart the phone.

No, no it's a problem or bug, is the way Move to SD works. Apps which have widgets can't be moved to SD
Some of my icons keep disappearing over and over. I put them back and then after a while they are gone. Anybody seen this happening or know of a fix? I also notice some apps get completely removed from my tab.

Are they installed onthe SD card?

Mine is doing that as well.
Actually yes they are in the sd card, but they auto installed themselves into the sd card; i didn't do it. But still, why do they disappear when they're installed the sd card?

It's getting fkin annoying to say the least.
I have a feeling it's moving apps around when you insert a microSD, extremely pointless
Maybe its the toothfairy? Or hipnotoad?
Maybe there is no spoon after all?
It's happened to me at least four times. I'm trying to nail down what the issue is, I have a suspicion that the way the icon was added makes a difference.
Adding it from the main screen versus holding down on the app icon in the app screen, though I've yet to confirm this.
Move to phone, problem solved.
I know but still. I'm sure there's a way to fix it.

I'm having the same issue as well...with widgets too...plus I get apps moved around on my screen after a reboot. I removed OCLF thinking that might have something to with it, glitch maybe? So far rebooted 4 times and no issues...i don't know, but terribly annoying indeed!

Did u use Apps 2 SD? This happens when I moved from phone to Internal memory using this software. Even though I have re-added the icons, it will disappear again in the next reboot.
To me the only solutionis to move back to Phone memory
The icons stay when using launcher Pro
I removed OCLF and haven't had any issues since...who knows...
Thanks for offering help/options everyone!

If you are using Apps 2 SD (and you move the apps that are missing to your SD card) when you reboot your device if you have a lot of data on your SD card (like me) it does take awhile for the SD card to process everything onto your SGT.
I have the same problem Had to transfer all my apps back to the phone.
Same issue here, move back to telefone memory help, but final solution?
same problem here ... stock jpy bln kernel, no lag fix..
I was having the same problem and was told to download Launcherpro..since that, nothing has disappeared since.

Go to settings, applications, manage applications. Select the application you want to move and if it can be moved to your sd card it will give you that option. I don't recall the names of them but there are applications in the market that list which applications you have that can be moved and will help you do that.

There's an app called APPS 2SD which automatically install new apps to ur SD card.. & ones that u already have installed, it'll go thru & find them all & all u hav to do is move them...

Titanium Backup will allow you to move almost all of your user apps onto the SD regardless of whether the developer wanted it or not. Highly recommend you use the "Pro" version or it may take a while to process.
I will have to check out that titanium backup.. Is it a paid app?
Thanks!!

Don't supposed you'd be willing to PM me on how to use TB? I've downloaded the most recent version of Pro I could get my hands on, but I'm not sure where to go from there.

Menu > Batch
What Top Nurse said. You can move many more apps with TB than with the "standard" mechanism in settings.
To move an app individually, press-hold the app in the backup list, and a context menu will pop up. If TB thinks it can move the app, the move to SD button will be available.
Or, as mentioned above, you can have all the eligible apps moved via a batch operation.

At the moment I'm using 329.17mb of 484.80mb on the phone, then 12.09gb of 14.73mb on my SD card. I recently changed over from Syndicate Frozen to Bonzai4All and my phone is plenty snappy. I've got a handful of apps running via SD through AppMonster telling me that I can have them running from there as I installed them. I don't know if there is a standard or recommendation as to how much memory on the phone itself I should keep free, but as far as I can tell, I'm not experiencing any lagging issues whatsoever. No offense again Syndicate (was running 1.0.1, then 1.0.2 came out after I swtiched to Bonsai) but Bonsai is definately faster and the transition couldn't have been easier.

I just installed my first custom rom on my epic. It was Bonsaii4all 3.01. It is a wonderful rom.
I was a flashaholic with my Touch Pro2 (Go EnergyRoms) but have had trouble rooting my Epic. Finally got the drivers to recognize my phone and I'm lovin the change. I use App2sd to put apps on SD but I'mm going to try Titanium as I have that already. Rom Manager sometimes freezes my phone.
Dumb question: when you install apps to the sd card, if/when you wipe your phone, will it automatically find them and set them up, or do they have to be reinstalled or restored?

Hey guys.
Just saw a "Allow application moving" option in the CyanogenMod settings menu.
This allows any app to be moved to the SD card.
I have been wondering...by allowing any app to be moved to SD even though originally they can't...
are there any side effects, problems or any inconveniences caused by doing so?
Thx guys.

It doesn't let you do it for all apps but otherwise it works well.
It's also a good idea to keep your widget apps on the phone.
Oh ok thx.
If you will move any widget to SD. You will have to configure it every time you turn on phone. The same with launchers and keypads.
ok. I'll remember that.

If you need it, there are apps in the market which let you know what apps can be put on sd and what apps can't or shouldn't. Type 'app 2 sd' in search box in market

I know...but I don;t mean that. There is a setting in CyanogenMod settings that can MOVE ANY APP to SD.
I was inquiring about that.
I already know what you were trying to say in your original post.
However, I was just adding on to what cheryanne and zdune were saying.

You mean apps on the market like: Move2SD or Apps 2 SD?
I'm getting an alert that phone's storage space is getting low. 255mb used and 55mb free. I store every app I can on the sd card.
Anybody know what I can do?

Clean your internet cache ?
Sent from my LT15i using XDA App
is there any way to do that for all at once or do I have to do that application by application?
I find that App2SD (free on market) is really useful for clearing any cache, probably has a good chance of fixing your issue aswell as checking that all your apps that can be moved are moved
done that. but nothing changes. still only 34MB available after clearing all cache. and still get the warning notification in the drop down bar.
You could try a cleaning app such as android optimize tool it's developed by a member overhere
you can find it in the forums or on the market (free).

it won't even let me install that app. not enough memory left.
can u install disk usage from market and let me know whats occupying more space on ur device(if possible attach screen shot)? also let me know if ur device is rooted ??
will do that right now. gotta charge it first.
device is not rooted. just updated from 2.3.2 to 2.3.3 then installed swiftkey x and got the error message. deleted a few apps that can only be stored on the phone's memory and still getting the error. i'll do the disk usage shortly.
Without root cant really take screenshots.

Try LINK to sd, on the market. You'll need to partition your sd card-Google it-but it'll sort that out.

that's good if you have root.
you may have to resort to a wipe. this once happened to me with my htc desire, a wipe was all that fixed it
anyone got any more tips to solve this?
got this message on mine, deleted a load of apps, photos, internet cache etc but still got the error message.
really annoying as I can't download or update any apps!
Thought I might as well reply to myself.
The low storage space on my arc was casued by downloading all my emails. If you wait the list of apps on storage used screen will reorgnaise into spaced used order. I deleted all old emails and the problem was fixed.
Now my arc is running really slow. Anyone know how to solve that
Try a cache cleaner from the market.
