I tried searching and havent found any threads about this.
On the stock 2.3 it has the microphone on the keyboard for voice to text.
I installed CM7 and while it says i have the option for voice to text, (voice to text settings) i cannot use the feature.
is there anyway to enable this???
do yu have voice search installed? Works for me and the voice search is a market app so it might not be included in the gapps

Hi Guys, on my previous Galaxy I had flashed the vibrant6 ROM for t-mobile and enjoyed it quite thoroughly.
It had the ability for voice to text. It was integrated into the keyboard. I have downloaded the google search 2.1 but that only allows me to search using my voice. I wish to be able to send a text message also.
Does anybody know where to find this program. I found it very convenient especially when driving.
I downloaded a program called micdroid and it screwed up my voice recording. Now, my google search (voice button), speech to text , and voice recorder doesn't work. Please help. Thank you.
Does anyone have any idea on how to have the Google Voice Search app launch when the bluetooth button on a headset is pressed? I'm not talking about voice commands, I'm talking about the Voice Search app that can be downloaded from the market.

First, I would like to say "THANKS" to the community for all their hard work here. Because of everybody's hard work. I was able to go from stock non root 2.1 eclair. To using superclean 2.6 w/voodoo kernel with tether fix. and add the Nitrodark theme v1.1. There are a lot of good write ups that help out us noobs a lot. Im so amazed by what my phone has now evolved in too. I cant stop customizing it now lol. So I just want to give everybody a real big "THANKS"
Secondly i have a issue that i cant seam to find a fix for. I have looked hard to find a fix but i haven't found one for the fascinate yet. The problem is with the dialer or more specify the lack of the Verizon voice mail app (blue tape looking icon). From my understanding. It was replaced by Google voice service. That's why the voice mail icon in lower left corner of the dialer goes to Google voice and not to Verizon voice. Does anybody have a fix or the files i need to replace Google voice with Verizon voice mail.
Also, i already looked in room manager and only found verizon visual voice mail and not the reg voice mail.
In the latest update for NitroDark (v2.0) There is a specific download for the Verizon voicemail dialer.

You can also just hold down the 1 key to get you my carrier voice mail. Pretty simple workaround
Sorry if this has been asked elsewhere, but how does one go about using voice to text function on the P8?
I've been trying to get the prompt when long pressing on my keyboard (ginger keyboard) that shows the mic icon,but nothing happens.. I've also tried switching to the google speech to text, but no change..
