I'll answer your question quick, before you get slammed for posting in wring section.... No, the AT&T market section does not go away just b/c you are rooted. It will always be there (at least for the time being).
Thanks if I posted in the wrong section it wasn't intentional. I recall previous roms on previous phones that went away al I was curious. Thanks for the response

Put your phone in airplane mode then enable wifi, or use Market Enabler.
Moved to General.
If we had full ROMs then you might lose it, depending on what the ROM was built upon. The P-ROMs we have now are just modifying the AT&T stock ROM and therefore you won't lose it.

You also lose the AT&T section if you're not on an AT&T SIM anymore. But rooting has nothing to do with it.

Download Wireless Tether. It comes in handy. Also consider running roms like Epic Unleashed 2.5.
I like JuiceDefender and SetCPU both require root and JuiceDefender has seriously improved my battery life.
wireless tether is a must have app!!!!!
As for things to do first... rename the majority of Moto bloatware... widgets and services that destroy the D2 battery life. I have more than doubled my battery life by doing so and setting brightness to about 10% unless I'm outside. I also personally find my system to be far more stable now that I'm using ADW.launcher instead of the default, but that may just be my imagination.
There's a decent thread on removing/renaming the bloat (renaming instead of removing b/c the phone can run into problems if you straight up delete certain Blur .apk's. Check here for more info:

I would agree. I don't know if we really have a Droid 2 moderator. I haven't really seen one, but maybe we do.
I Feel like im stuck, i have the Sprint GT. Seems there is minimal development for the Sprint GT and having an HTC EVO and using the EVO forums I'm sad.. I would gladly open my wallet as i do in the EVO forums here in the GT forums. Anybody out there feeling my same pain?
I feel your pain. I think I've only a few rooted apps working on my Sprint Tab. Not the end of the world but my Moto Droid is more fun to play with. I'm something of a hack so I don't even know if it's possible to unlock the bootloader but it would be nice to have a few other apps working like the Wireless Tether.
Sprint Tab
I understand completely. I bought a Sprint Tab and was shocked at the lack of development (came from incredible which is very similar to Evo). However, after root, CWM, voodoo, and custom kernel, I can say that I don't really desire to do anything else to my Tab. I cleaned up some bloatware myself (freeze/delete) and it runs like a dream. BTW, see this thread if you need help with anything besides root.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1016758
So don't be too disappointed, with some minor changes (VOODOO!!!) you won't need a custom rom. App performance, battery life, and general usage are all terrific now.

Thanks for the great info! I would really be happy if i could eventually have honeycomb on my GT. Im super happy with performance and size but it looks like all of the alpha and soon to be beta versions for the GT are all GSM or for Verizon. Well i said all that because my 30 trial is up in a few weeks and i dont want to be stuck with 2.2. But im gonna give Voodoo a try, just need to read up on it entirely. Thanks again!

I may need to search harder not sure i saw overcome for Sprint.
Thanks..
Honestly guys, aside from Spacemonkey's HC port, there's not much support for the VZW Tab either. All I have are a few root apps, and CWM, which is virtually useless without development. The Xoom already has custom kernels, but nobody seems to be able to get behind the GT on any level. Kinda disappointing, but I'll check out Voodoo, and maybe give that a shot.

I'm also curious where you got a sprint overcome rom.
So I just wanted to say that I flashed my vzw cdma tab with the rooted virgin stock gingerbread provided by Oldmacnut.
It works perfectly!! I had been running stock froyo with voodoo kernel...but what I have now works great.
Skype with video!
3g, gtalk with video installed using another thread here.
Adw launcher works fine...i just restored my apps with titanium.
I would have posted this on the development thread Oldmacnut started for this release but this is my very first post after following a few threads for the last couple of months.
Anyway this is what I was waiting for!
So thanks to Oldmacnut and the guys he got it from.
I'm keeping my eye on your gb rom Oldmacnut and spacemoose's honeycomb.
Thanks for all the silent help Ive gotten from XDA haha...

Good to know. I'm thinking of trying Oldmacnut's version of GB for VZW but the stock stuff always seems to be reliable. Did you use Heimdall 1.1.1 or 1.1.0 to upload the software?

Does this have the screen density set tiny at 182 or standard (240)? I flashed the other de-bloated version but went back to Froyo because I got tired of squinting at everything.
If it looks the same as the de-bloated version, I'll just stick with Froyo.

Not at all...I read that about that version but like Oldmacnut said this official release looks almost exactly like froyo...except for the numbers (version, kernel, etc...)
Everything is the same size.
It's worth it.
On another note: I did try getting cwm recovery using the bootstrapper but it after wipe it stalled at the samsung logo so I put it back into download mode and reflashed the ginger stock...i don't really need cwm right but it would be nice (and a kernel i can oc)
Updated my Tab to Sprint 2.3.4, now some questions
I took my US Cellular/VZW tab and flashed using Heimdall using this link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1161033&highlight=sprint
It worked perfectly! I have full root (At least I think I do), all my apps were there and working, and I still had my Bluetooth devices there and working. My only issue is that in 2.2 on VZW, I could put the Tab into airplane mode and the wifi and BT would still work. I did that so I could save battery life as I only use the Tab wifi only. Now in 2.3.4, when I select airplane mode, I can get wifi but not BT. I have to disable airplane mode to get the BT to work. Does anyone know if this is a Sprint-ism or Gingerbread-ism? How about this, is it possible to turn off the radio altogether and not worry about airplane mode?
Would like to try also
I tried their download link and am unable to download the stock rom. Currently running the modified release and everything seems to work ok except a couple of items. Want to test the stock version to see if it fixes those issues, but can't seem to download the rom. The file doesn't show up when I click on the download link. Maybe just me???
I flashed this as well and it's awesome. Much prefer it to the molested version.
Bloated stuff I don't like I removed with SDX app remover.

If I remember correctly the link takes you to the Android Door website where you can download it there from Oldmacnut's blog. If there are issues with the rom I think its from how its being improved upon which I want to check out once its bug free or close enough. So the stock isn't going to have the same issues. But I can say that I haven't had any problems with it other than VZW Bootstrapper not working and not being able to find a modded kernel.

His rom is 182 but you can change it to 240 easily. I did not like the small icons I changed the setting in build.prop back to 240 and it is great.
I too have downloaded this and found it to be exceptional. Would love to post my comments on the dev site but I am too new. It is nice to have someone working on the future updates being that Verizon is focused on 10.1

I think you can go into "Settings - Verizon Data Service" and uncheck the "Use mobile data service" and that turns off the 3G. At least least I don't have connection when I do that and have wifi off. You can also still enable bluetooth with the "mobile data service " unchecked.
Just an update...
I am still running this on my Tab with no problems.
Still keeping an eye for any custom GB kernels to pop up so I can oc and maybe use voodoo sound again or something similar. And a custom recovery.
Btw I'm putting my comments here so as not muck up the development threads.

No problems here, also, and I have to agree that this is far from "worthless". I'm a developer and closer to stock I can get, the less I have to care about whether or not some given app works on some given hacked system. Plus there's always something screwy with hacked systems. The camera doesn't work, the screen dpi is set to where I can't read it, "bloatware" is randomly removed without considering what it will alter or break by removing it, the unit simply refuses to boot after a point...it's always something. Always. I'm not slamming the hackers, lots of people use their systems and appreciate them, I'm simply citing years and years of personal experience. So yeah, the closer I am to stock, the happier I am which makes this very useful.
Where can I find the leaked stock ROM? I'm not sure I follow the suggestion to look in "dev"... link?
I've had no problems at all with 2.3.4 on the Tab, but after flashing I have had problems with the keyboard dock. It no longer automatically recognized it when docked and when I finally persuaded it to work some of the keys were remapped the pound symbol (#) became the pound sterling symbol and the " and @ exchanged places.
I use the dock quit a lot and so reverted to stock, but I do miss Skype with video!
So I was browsing XDA on my Tapatalk app and I stumbled upon a new thread about a New Market, supposedly a revamped 'My apps' and the integration of Google+'s '+1' on apps you like.. sorry, I would of subscribed or copied the thread but my cell had been without charge and it died on me. Lmao. I can't find it either, though I remember it containing the source of the download to be at androidpolice, if anyone can find that link and share it with everyone, much appreciated.

most people with Epics got this pushed to them automatically already. It should just updated itself the next time you use the market.

Sorry to waste your time. My point was that I've had it pushed to me every time I've reflashed on both Froyo and Gingerbread roms in the last week or so. It's odd that whatever rom you are seems to be preventing it.
There is a newer version that has not been pushed to the Epic yet. Zanderman posted it in a thread. I think it is 3.1.3.

To me ...reverting to stock is the simplest way.
If you absolutely don't want to lose your stuff ...you have to return it to stock piece by piece. Many threads about it already. Many.
Tho...I just transferred all my stuff to my pc ....including my titanium backup folder....pics and all that...and used rsdlite ...and put all my stuff back after. Rooted it. Restored my titanium backup. Done.

While I can agree with this partially, if AT&T and Verizon didn't junk up the firmware and change stuff that didn't need to be changed, then we wouldn't really have a legit reason to root the phone. Dev Editions are for people who want exposed modules and all that jazz, and I feel like Moto should've made a MM phone that was Dev Edition, but can't have your cake and eat it too. Again, if AT&T and Verizon used the same firmware as T-Mobile did, then I'm sure a LOT more people, including myself, would be happy and not need root.

I'm happy the USB OTG is back and the phone feels snappier. Battery life (for me) is noticeably better after a significant decline with 4.4. Good that they fixed all the bluetooth volume issues I was having with my headset (basically one volume on the LG Tone+ and when connected to the car, voice notifications came into the phone and not out of the car speakers). Also looks like some notifications have had some tweaks, such as picture auto-backup now shows a thumbnail of some of the images that were backed up. It's a REALLY good update for me.
Only thing that bugs me so far is that when you remove the USB storage, you get a notification that stays there until the next reboot.
I already had great battery life. But it seems to have gotten slightly better. Not marginal, but it was enough for me to notice. Basically getting a bit more out of a 100% charge.
