It only wipe cache partition. Apps/Games downloaded and installed from market won't be deleted. They're installed in data partition.
btw, you can read abt cache here : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cache#Disk_cache

thank you...

Applications don't Install!

Hi Guys I need some help today my streak stop installing the app from the Market.Today I try to Update two app from the Market looks like the app is downloading but don't install My Streak is using froyo 319 and have Market v.2.3.4. some help guys
Troubleshooting the Android market
Try clearing the cache for the market, and if that does not work clear the data.
Had the same problem (froyo 318) with more recent apps that are bigger then 20MB. Fast forward provided above troubleshooting to "Unmount SD Card". That worked for me.

If you have this problem and are trying to install FROM your SD card (not the market), you can use ADB
adb install [filename thats saved inside your adb directory].apk
problem solved!

make sure you don't have pm setInstallLocation 2, just go into a terminal, su, and enter
pm setInstallLocation 0

I have already solved my problem!!
1. Backup SD Card
2. Partition your SD Card with Rom Manager (I used 512mb/256mb swap)
3. Install Simple2Ext (You can find it in the Android Market)
4. Open Simple2Ext and toggle on 'Download Cache'.
5. Now, reboot your Desire and you should be able to install Angry Birds/Maps/Other big apps.
It's very easy!!!
Thnx!!!!
I have the same issue. I dont want a work around. although i would take that as a last resort. I want to fix it.
---------- Post added at 03:34 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:26 PM ----------
I did the setinstallocation. i still get the "insufficient space on the device"
Any other ideas
Is it the new style market?
I think some people are having download problems with it, I can't pin it down to 1 version though as I've never had a problem and nobody ever posts what version of the market they are using, try a different version see if that helps.

Ive just formatted my phone and fresh install with 150 . 10 MTD and now my Market is FC constantly. Tried clearing data/ cache but still same . Market version 3.15
Flash gapps again.

remove new market and install old. New market have i thing 30mb space for download apps.
Install titanium backup and make market like user app
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1296601#5
One more thing can be issue. If you flash your roms from rom manager than all dalvik-cache is moved to /cache and it fills it to the top. Try to flash roms directly from recovery than your /cache partition will be clean and youll be able to download from market.

I have tried a few roms now and haven't come across any issues using the new market. Sometimes its a little slow but nothing more than that.
Only problem I've seen is sometimes it hangs when downloading paid apps, my solution is force close the market and try again. Other than that I love it.

I'm using the old 2.12 version and it's terribly slow at everything, it seems the UI hangs on network access. But the latest market was fully asynchronous iirc, I would update if it wasn't ~7MiB.
this solved my problem too

[Q] Unable to Uninstall an App. (HTC HD2)

I have uninstalled an Application but its giving message that says that the App. is not fully uninstalled and it asks if i want to remove it from the list of installed programmes....i select yes and the game remains on the list. Plz HELP
Try fixing permissions and wipe cache and than use a app similar to uninstaller and that should do the job. I ran across that minor hiccup a couple times.

He means go to CWM - Recovery Modus and the FixPermissions Option in Advanced mode...
DalvikCache Wiping is in Advanced Mode too...
This is for a System other than Windows Mobile !
I think he is talking about Windows Mobile and not Android.
So those solutions won't work. Try to delete the game's folder from "Program Files".
Yea em using WM 6.5... i have deleted it from Program file, start up and start menu but still in list of installed program...

No idea about that (not on CM9 though) - did you install it from the play store or did you a restore of a previous version? I'm not sure if there might be different versions for Gingerbread and ICS. If you did a restore you could make a backup and clear cache and data and restart. If that doesn't work I'd try to uninstall and install fresh from the playstore.

not sure what you mean by "flash my cache"... probably I didn't make it clear enough... I've been referring to the app's cache and data (go to "manage applications" / tab "all" / "WhatsApp" / "clear cache" and "clear data"
But a dalvik-cache wipe via recovery couldn't hurt, too.

Need Help about Memory

Dear Exparts

first,do you know cwm?
if yes,go to cwm,and then take a backup (just in case)
after that,go to advanced, choose clear dalvik cache, then reboot.
if your linked apps doesn't appear,go to link2sd and then re-create mount script.
dalvik cache consuming some internal storage though.
in my friend's phone, clearing dalvik could free 10mb

pal if u dont have problem on factory reset do that....
First, know what rom are you using. If it is Stock then that's normal.
If it's custom, tell us first so we can sort this out.
Dear All,
Thanks for your Help. I have tried all those methods you have mentioned. And I didn't get any result. That's why I have asked your suggestions. It will be better if there's any other way without factory reset.
Btw I am useing Creed Rom V3.5 with Deepak Joshi's ICS trans theme. and I use clean master for clearing cache, well I used 1tap cache cleaner all.
Umm! what can I say more?
Thanks buddy for your valuable suggestions.
