Hi Guys I need some help today my streak stop installing the app from the Market.Today I try to Update two app from the Market looks like the app is downloading but don't install My Streak is using froyo 319 and have Market v.2.3.4. some help guys
Troubleshooting the Android market
Try clearing the cache for the market, and if that does not work clear the data.
Had the same problem (froyo 318) with more recent apps that are bigger then 20MB. Fast forward provided above troubleshooting to "Unmount SD Card". That worked for me.

If you have this problem and are trying to install FROM your SD card (not the market), you can use ADB
adb install [filename thats saved inside your adb directory].apk
problem solved!

I was having this problem with angry birds. Unmounting the SD card while installing and updating it works for me. Just super annoying when I have to do it.
Ye the unmounting of sd card work great as well

Hi,
I can't find the solution to this problem.
I had originally a Dutch Vodafone branded X10i.
Debranded it -> ok
Rooted it with the old method (install .16, update, root) -> ok
Had to repair some mistakes and reinstalled the X10i again.
First back to .16 from the old root method.
Update OTA to .23.
Update to .26 had to go with SEUS.
Installed the new root function (one-click app X10root.apk).
Reinstalled my apps and data with Titanium Backup.
All but some apps seem ok.
I can't find some apps in Android Market anymore.
For example I'm missing Paypal (is free), Hit it light, GoTo (lockscreen, paid).
From the applications menu I:
- erased data from download management
- erased data from gmail
- erased data from google apps
- erased data from google talk
- erased data from google talk-service
- cleared the cache of market
- erased data from market updater
- erased data from gmail storage (opslag van gmail)
I can't find anything called IM or Instant Messaging or so.
I throttled the phone.
Started Android Market, inserted my credentials.
Still no luck.
What can I do next?
Have you tried the market fix?

Which one?
I know there's one from the original thread to gain root, but I thought that one was needed because .23 was deliverd by that thread. Do I need to run that market fix ?
Or do I need to use Eris Market Fix app?
Or is there another one?
Not sure which you would need to try, but would imagine it would be from the thread you used to root.

Hi last few builds ive used cant seem to find apps like paypal or norton security etc.
Ive checked all locations in settings and they seem fine and also set the market as orange UK.
Is there anything else I need to change so they show?
Currently using Beta2 of the Desire HD rom.
Try using Market Enabler
I had the problem with my current build (see sig).
I read somewhere that I needed to install the Eris Market Fix app from the market, which I did but it didn't fix the problem, at least immediately.
Apparently you also need to clear the cache in some occasions too. It's only after clearing the cache that it worked as normal. well at least I think that I cleared the cache, since i emptied the cache folder from within my android folder. give it a try!
Already tried the market enabler. Have just tried that market fix and also cleared cahce and rebooted but still same problem
Thnx for suggestions guys, any more?

Thnx for suggestion though.

I can access the Android Market, but it will not download any apps. It starts to download for half a second but then stops. I have used the "BOYPPC-SHIFTPDA GINGER 2.3.3 V5 " and "AmeriCanAndroid" ROMs and have the same result.
I have deleted cache and data from all the programs that start with Google and Market but I still cant download any apps. Any tips on what I can do to fix this?
Update to v 11 !!!

The ROM type is SD, not NAND.
i had the same problem. you have to move what ever apps you have stored on the "phone" to the sd card. then you'll be able to download new apps and place them back on the phone ie pandora...
i got the same problem this wil work for you.
go to ----> settings-applications-manage applications-all
google backup transport clear data
google partner setup clear data
google services framework clear data
market clear cache
than reboot

I have tried this and still have the same problem. I have encountered this same error for different SD ROMs like AmeriCanAndroid and RAFDROID HD. I have even flashed my stock ROM to Energy. My radio is 2.15.50.14. Any more tips? I will try the MUIU if I can't it fixed i guess.

I tried doing this, but it gave an error message. It said, "Failed to move application. System updates cannot be installed on external media."
will try these settings as my market plays trix on me.....
I notice this happens alot of custom roms other than stock deodexed roms.
I started reinstalling my apps one by one because TB was only resintalling half my apps. So after reinstalling about 30 or so apps, the market stops installing apps for me. I'm currently running "WORKING NETFLIX! NEW! [AllianceROM][r7.2] HybriD 3D[Sense 2.1 OTA][Themed]"but this has happened on Calkuns roms too. Its even happening with updates to apps that are already installed. So I uninstalled the apps and tried installing them as fresh apps and that still doesn't work.
Any ideas?
Clear your market data and cache. For whatever reason when you install a bunch of apps from the market at the same time this happens.
If the above doesn't work you may have to wipe your .android_secure folder on your SD card as well.

Future reference, to clear the data and cache of any app, go into settings>applications>manage applications>app your trying to clear data for.

I have already solved my problem!!
1. Backup SD Card
2. Partition your SD Card with Rom Manager (I used 512mb/256mb swap)
3. Install Simple2Ext (You can find it in the Android Market)
4. Open Simple2Ext and toggle on 'Download Cache'.
5. Now, reboot your Desire and you should be able to install Angry Birds/Maps/Other big apps.
It's very easy!!!
Thnx!!!!
I have the same issue. I dont want a work around. although i would take that as a last resort. I want to fix it.

I did the setinstallocation. i still get the "insufficient space on the device"
Any other ideas
Is it the new style market?
I think some people are having download problems with it, I can't pin it down to 1 version though as I've never had a problem and nobody ever posts what version of the market they are using, try a different version see if that helps.

Ive just formatted my phone and fresh install with 150 . 10 MTD and now my Market is FC constantly. Tried clearing data/ cache but still same . Market version 3.15
Flash gapps again.

remove new market and install old. New market have i thing 30mb space for download apps.
Install titanium backup and make market like user app
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1296601#5
One more thing can be issue. If you flash your roms from rom manager than all dalvik-cache is moved to /cache and it fills it to the top. Try to flash roms directly from recovery than your /cache partition will be clean and youll be able to download from market.

I have tried a few roms now and haven't come across any issues using the new market. Sometimes its a little slow but nothing more than that.
Only problem I've seen is sometimes it hangs when downloading paid apps, my solution is force close the market and try again. Other than that I love it.

I'm using the old 2.12 version and it's terribly slow at everything, it seems the UI hangs on network access. But the latest market was fully asynchronous iirc, I would update if it wasn't ~7MiB.
this solved my problem too
