Got the problem solved.
In Stock browser you need to type about:debug in the address bar. Then click on the icon in the upper right hand corner. Click on settings/debug/Use wide viewport. Turn Use wide viewport off and now browser renders pictures etc everything very well.I am loving my A500 more now.

my bad...
while having trouble with FLASH to show video instead of just audio alone, I tried out XSCOPE and DOLPHIN HD ..etc
got the 2 mixed up ..LOL
XSCOPE on Froyo was my FAV and it have that setting for WIDE/NORMAL ...etc
but now that we are running Honeycomb .... FLASH no longer work properly... they (XSCOPE) need to update to support HC.
Why is it that about:config doesn't work for me?
I enter "about:config" (without quotes) in the URL bar, hit enter, and I get a blank page. Then I click the menu button and settings and nothing has changed - no debug option.

Anyone know how to keep this setting because the browser seems to revert evrytime you open a new session?
UAString
Dear all, I have got a problem with browser - every time when I try to open facebook page (for example) it try to redirect me to mobile version of site and show "error connection".
I tried to change UAString from android to desktop, but a lot of sites still try to open mobile version of site.
Maybe it is possible to change something?

Hi
Does anyone know how to use flash in opera 10 on the htc hd2?
Or if not is there a link for opera 9.7 version with flash?
Or may be any best reccommended version with flash?
thanks in advance
Download Opera Mobile 10
Just tap the more button > Settings > Advanced > Plugg-ins and turn it on.
That's it! Now you can play flash contents and video.
Can I have both 9.7 and 10. I dont want to loose screen rotation in 10.

same here. sporadically it loads on its own. youtube never works and that sucks, because ihave playlists and the youtube client that comes standard is useless. other websites like www ajax nl dont show content very well either.
is there a flash tweak or sommin for opera, cuz the browser is fine otherwise..

No there is nothing yet. Many WebPages use the new flashversion (10.1) which is just not compatible with the HD2´s one (and will most likely never be).

Hi techops
thanks for the reply.
cannot get that to work for opera 10 final.. but old the older 9.7 works fine. Hence this should do me fine for now. ;-)
thanks again.
i just intalled this as i was looking for an alturnative to the now dead adobe flash 10.1 release. It works well although the version of opera that my phone shipped with (no idea what version it is) has better support for the gesture zooming system (ie it works) so some pro's and cons there but all in all i like it.
One question though is there anyway to get opera mobile 10 to allow horizontal scrolling? the way it formats webpages is abit dumb looking imo.
for those who have skyfire and opera 10. How does flash compare?
Removing Opera 9.7 to install Opera 10
Installed Opera 10 worked fine in my HD2; but some applications use as default Opera 9.7,even after making Opera 10 my Default Browser. Some of the applications are: My account T-mobile, Favorites (Not Shared) still using Opera 9.7
Can any one make a cab for Uninstall/Install Opera 9.7/Opera10 on the HD2 as the Default Browser, or by using a regedit?
OEM TMOUS ROM v.2.13
I thought about upgrading for flash support, but losing multi touch and such was not an option as its so handy and I do a lot of browsing.
I downloaded skyfire, and while kinda crappy it works for the limited flash I need.
Skyfire plays all the flash sites. I do have hiccups with video and sound though. The video never stutters, but the sound is often so annoying I have to turn it off.
Opera 10 plays some flash sites, but none of the ones with the newer flash model. Remember we are using the Adobe flash 3.1 here. Most of the YouTube videos are playing now. I'm hoping Opera upgrades the browser to play the .html5 videos similar to how Bolt has.
Hi
Has anyone got the opera 10 final version working with flash?
thanks.

How do you make Opera your default browser? I have the version that came with the HD2 and installed the tweak to allow flash.
Also where do I get Opera 10 from (when I go to the site it does not show the HD2 as a supported model)
Lastly, what are the differences between that and the original version
opera 10
i just downloaded opera 10 on my hd2 tmoble and enabled plugin, but it says adobe flash 9 required to watch video,
Look round for -TX Opera mobile 10-.and Tap after zooming in wherever there is a flash, however it only playes Youtube videoes.
hi all, i decided to start this thread so users can poll for their favourite browser and also discuss the pros and cons of each browser
the aim of this is to hopefully help other users, who have trouble on deciding which browser to go for - to make up their mind
all input and feedback would be much appreciated. thanks
ill get the ball rolling here. my fav browser is dolphin 5.0. yes, they have finally gotten 5.0 out of the beta, and its now public and official, effective june 1st. apart from the dozens of add ons and themes, what really won me over is how all these add ons never seem to slow the performance (or at least none that i have noticed).
in addition, i noticed that every time i click the home soft key while my facebook mobile page is open in the stock browser, the next time i open the stock browser, it forces a close; a problem i have never experienced with Dolphin thus far. i also like how the bookmarks slide out almost instantaneously compared to a black screen before u see thumbnails on the stock browser.
in my opinion, i have used opera, stock browser, firefox 4 and dolphin HD, and if the others are pairs or 3 of a kind or straights in a game of cards, this would be the royal flush nuff said
In my WinMo times I prefered SkyFire...Of course, stock was more than unusable...But now it IS stock browser. It's fast! It's easy to control and without unnecessary add ons. My choice!
Dolphin HD is the most complete (addons, themes, Desktop U.A.)

i have to agree that the stock browser is fast, but unfortunately what put me off was the force close every time i leave it running in the background with facebook mobile as one of the pages. the only way to stop this from happening is if i close the facebook tab and then leave the browser running in the background. does anybody else have this issue or is it just me?
apart from that, sad to say, its very annoying the way you have to alternate between tabs (by pressing the menu button > windows) or even to open a new tab for that matter.
Opera, the best.

I've tried them all, but none of them seems to satify my needs. So currently, I;m using Stock Browser. Need something similar and clean.
My thoughts:
Stock Browser -> No exit button, always have to close window then close browser so it doesn't open my last opened page
Opera Mobile/Opera Mini -> Force closes on me sometimes, I do not know what the cause is.
Dolphin Browser HD -> Heavy ram usage, slow to load pages and the add-ons load it down.
Firefox -> No flash.
Skyfire -> Too much clutter on user interface. Dislike the useful functions on the bottom bar which I will probably never use.
Miren -> Bad reviews make for a bad product.
xScope -> No moneyz.
Maxthon -> IE? No way.
Others -> Unknown and never tried.
Conclusion: Help me.
Solution: Opera

I use Firefox for android because there is the synchronisation with computer but it is so slow ... well, as much as on the computer.
When Firefox is too laggy. I use stock one, so cool, so fast.
For me the best browser is Opera Mini because it is faster and it uses little ram.
Inviato dal mio MotoA953 usando Tapatalk
Dolphin HD has lots of features, but is usually slower than the rest, good if you want a browser with lots of extensions.
Opera Mini is very good for people with slow service/capped data because the webpages are compressed through Opera's servers.
The stock browser is good enough for me because it's moderately fast and just works fine, I've never had it crash.
The only complaint I have on the stock browser is that it has windows, not tabs. If there were tabs at the top of to switch instead of having to go through 2 menus to get to windows, I'd like it a lot more.
I would say Dolphin Browser HD is something like the Firefox on PC?
Smooth, great, unless with tons of addons.
My personal favorite after trying out all. Can't deny Opera is good too, for Android.
Used it on Symbian on my previous phone and was the best browser then.
From all the Browser i try i like the Firefox most because its clean and easy and it syncs with my desktop Browser.
But after i see the results of the Poll i might give the stock Browser a shot.
I prefer opera over the rest.. though firefox team has made vast improvement over past few months, still it can't surpass the experience you get in desktop version, in fact its awesome for me, with lots of plugins and innovative ideas keep popping out.. I usually export the bookmarks then import into phone via opera link then con't browsing on the phone.. on the other hand, opera has made its name in handheld device.. though its not the fastest but it renders it well to fit my personal preference.. I like the tabbed browsing very much..
Hi guys,
I have the setting enabled that is meant to reflow text on webpages like my old Desire HD, but I see no difference, it still requires painful finger panning left and right to read a website.
Anyone have any suggestions?

It reflows only when double tapping.
There was something in the forum somewhere - I think if you look in something like SGS2 tips or something... I'm pretty sure the thread had the word 'easteregg' in it, so search that...
Ok, actually looking for this myself...

Use opera mobile browser free from the market. Even better than HTC's browser IMO. Auto - text reflow works extremely well!
I agree that opera's reflow is top notch. I also love the browser for its silky smooth performance, but it drives me nuts that it doesn't use the standard android user agent. So pages specifically designed for android (and there are a lot of these) just show up in a generic mobile format and don't look as good.
Opera's agent can be changed in opera:config page. I used it a lot, but now I'm back at stock browser, as Opera can't display some sites I use properly.
And yeah, trick is to doubleclick on paragraph to fit it. Pinch zoom just zooms. Imho it's good combination.
I've tried on my SGS2 to pinch-zoom and double-tap to reflow. No luck. It works on my SGS1 running Gingerbread 2.3.3. stock, but no luck on the SGS2. It just zooms in or out when I double tap the text.

Go into the browser settings, select 'Auto-Fit' and then double tap on a webpage to have the browser zoom and reflow to a readable size.
Regards.
Opera mobile's text relow is really good, just zooming activates it without needing to double tap

Sure, and change the zoomfactor by pinch and zoom a little and what happens? Correct, nothing, even with autofit enabled.
The stock browser does NOT auto-reflow. It only has two (fixed) zoomlevels with text reflow. Rather useless.
Yes I think this counts as a Samsung Bug. After the double press to fully zoom in, then try pinch zoom out -- you get text reflow -- but try pinch zoom in -- no text reflow -- useless.
Text reflow on pinch zoom in has always worked on all HTC phones. I presume this works on Stock Android (nexus phones).
This does not work on the s1 ether. Oh dear, why does Samsung break really good features. They have also broken fullscreen flash video which always shows the status bar. But never shows on HTC phones.
How can we get this bug officially reported to Samsung?
I'm from 3 HTC phones as well and I'm missing this feature.
My solution: Set Dolphin browser as default
Nope the dolphin browser does not do it either, just reflow on zoom out only. (I think it uses the same engine as stock)
I refer to the kind of reflow you're talking about as 'dynamic reflow', where the text reflows with pinch zooming to whatever level you like, because that differentiates it clearly from double-tap to zoom and reflow to one zoom level (the only behaviour in the stock browser). I only point that out because it might help stop some of these "no it doesn't reflow", "yes, it does reflow - enable autofit" arguments.
I use Opera because it supports dynamic reflow, so I'd suggesting using that.
This whole thread is about 'dynamic reflow'.
WHY has Samsung disabled 'dynamic reflow' on the stock browser when it works just fine on HTC phones. Presumably this is a standard Android feature.
How do report this bug to Samsung? Common guys lets get Samsung to fix this in thier next release.
Old news ...
I think this "old" thread already covers this subject ...

This is a problem. on my sgs, i could zoom to any level and then double tap to reflow text, i was surprised when it didn't work on the sgs2. also, i agree, flash video fullscreen keeps the f'in status bar where as on the sgs it was not a problem. we need firmware fixes now!

Why the flame dude? I was responding to the OP, not going off topic disussing dynamic reflow (not auto reflow). We all know the browser doesn't offer dynamic reflow, neither does bone stock Android. It's not a killer feature, if it bothers you that much there is a plethora of third party browsers out there.
Regards.
The samsung infuse does seem to have text reflow in the browser. That's even stranger.

Problem is that you can't "zoom-in" any further and then double-tap the paragraph to make it fit with the larger size. Both my OG SGS and Atrix could do this.
Unless there is something that I'm missing here to get the stock browser to work?...
Im finding Opera to be the smoothest browser experience, over Dolphin and the built in one.
Especially on a page with very wide content, maybe a picture to (craigs list) where you must slide the page way to the side to see pic.

Maxthon mobile for 10" is a real good browser and quick also.
I've been using Dolphin for pad and it seems pretty good. I'm wondering how maxthon measures up to it.
is it just me or the browsers seems not so responsive...
like the stock browser when i type something, there is a delay from the moment i hit the key to it showing up on the screen...
then other browsers like dolphin, opera loads the screen fairly slow compared to my phone on the same wifi connection.
also, anyone else having trouble with flash videos playing poorly? when I skip ahead on a flash video, the picture freezes a while
Ive tried opera, dolphin as well as the less than useful stock browser..
personally so far MX has been by far the best, mouse gestures and speed have the others licked..
Dolphin Tab beta has been pretty good so far!
I prefer the stock browser:
I don't like Opera because it works in mobile mode and I can't get it to work in desktop mode (I even used custom user agent but it didn't work).
I don't like Maxthon because it shows google results on google.co.ch or whatever is the chinese google webpage. I hate it.
Dolphin Tab is ok but I feel like it's slower than all the rest.
I tried a lot of browsers and I'd really like to switch to another but so far every single browser had some problems or issues.
i stick with stock browser
But I admit - typing in a text forum depending on how the software is set up was painful when i first bought my Iconia - 3.01 had some serious lag.
3.1 helped a lot - i find the browser to be a lot faster and more stable, but still the text lag was a little annoying. Once I learned how to over clock and run at 1.54GhZ when using the browser, I am finally happy with stock.

...but
I use Firefox, Opera, and Stock...
Firefox... only because I can synch my bookmarks and passwords with my desktop (very useful) but flash sites don't always work and flash videos never works.
Opera - strongly considering this as my favorite... but occasionally some sites don't work right, flash works very well and I like the UI
Stock - only use it for certain flash sites.
All-in-all at the end of the way if I had to dump two I would keep Opera
In dolphin if I full screen/expand an embedded video the nav bar pops in and out in landscape, I gave firefox a shot but that won't even play embedded video (audio plays but no video) unless it is youtube.
So which broswer should I go with, or if you guys have a fix for the above issues, I'd prefer something with a lastpass addon but I can do without.
AOSP browser is still my favorite after using a couple alternatives
Chrome or stock are the best ones imho
AOSP is just soooo slow, chrome is still working fine but no plugins means I have to use lastpass to launch websites.
I was hoping there was something better but it seems like I'm SOL.
When I used Dolphin browser, I found it to be close to the stock browser, just more feature rich. I tried using Chrome, Firefox, and Skyfire, but found the stock browser to be more of a favorite. I did try a lil browser that was really good with functionality with no bells and whistles at all, Naked Browser. I liked it and it is Flash enabled. Still, I keep coming back to the stock browser.

When I view embedded video fullscreen in landscape the navbar pops up then, goes away, then pops up, ad nauseum. This has been happening ever since I first installed dolphin (5+mos ago) and way before jetpack was ever installed.
They seem to have fixed it for youtube but try this http://t.co/5h7Hx3UPCP it's a bill maher whosay link, if you view it full screen landscape in dolphin you'll see what I'm talking about.
So a little testing:
AOSP - Runs fine but it doesn't expand to fill the screen once the navbar hides
Opera - Won't expand the video
Chrome - Runs fine but it doesn't expand to fill the screen once the navbar hides
Firefox - Audio plays but no video
