hi all
forgive me if this seems a silly questions
but how long should you charge a new 3150mAh Battery
second question when i plug the charger in my uni it switches the phone on is this normal can you charge without the phone coming on
thanks
It is normal that phone powers itself on when you put it on charger...
You should charge your battery until it's full 100% should do it
I've search through all battery faults in the forum but haven't found a fault similar to mine.
My Diamond2 charges fine, battery lasts ok 2-3 days with normal usage. But when the low battery alert signals, I put it on charge on either mains charger or car charger and it won't charge. I can turn the phone off and it will charge fine up to 100%. I can even turn it back on once it's above 20% and it will charge fine.
It's been the same for os's 6.1, 6.5 and the energy rom i have at the moment.
I am going to flatten the battery, turn the unit off, take the battery out for 30 secs and then charge it fully while powered off. Just to see what happens.
Any Help/Advice would be gratefully received Ju
Maybe you got a bad battery. If its still under warranty, replace it.
OK, first I admit, the battery is a POS. I usually have enough battery life to make it through a full day, but usually it will die in the evening before I go to bed and put it on charge.
Recently I got a message, "Charging current is not enough for device power consumption. Please connect your AC adapter." Strange thing, though, it WAS connected to my AC charger. I get the same message with both of my chargers.
Battery will not charge, but has just enough power to keep the phone running as long as there is charge already in the battery. So the battery is almost dead, I put it on the charger all night long, get up in the morning and take it off, and then it beeps extra low battery! and then dies shortly after.
The only way I can get it to work is to leave the phone powered off for a long period of time and charge it then. Doesn't always work though. works if I take out the battery and charge it all by itself on a USB phone battery charger.
Sounds like the problem is somewhere in the phone, not with the chargers. Why would both of them do the same thing?
Please help.
does it do the same thing when plugged in and charging via USB??
could be a bad battery...
from old phones i had previous to my magic it sometimes helped to clean the contacts on the battery and charging pins on the phone..
I'll check that...
BTW, if I am plugged into an AC adapter, is it supposed to stay on even if I remove the battery?
NOPE! same message. Been charging all day now and only shows just over half charge on the battery. Most of this is from the hour or so that I had the battery out and charging on its own.
I was on holiday last week and used my HTC Magic 32b for navigation with a universal car charger. I noticed the battery was not charging so I disconnected the phone. Now the phone does not charge the battery any more and all leds are off. I have tested the battery, bought a new one and tested the USB charger and they are OK. It seems the phone is simply not charging the battery and gets very hot. The phone starts with an externally charged battery, but I have the impression the battery discharges quickly. Any idea what I can do myself?

Check the battery contacts.
I have the exact same issue, I can't get it to charge at all, the contacts look like they are fine so I don't know what else to do. It won't charge or turn on even when directly plugged in anymore with the battery in, and when the battery finally says it is charged, it depletes in maybe an hour.
Same with mine. No LEDs, battery does not charge, not even a new one. And it discharges quickly. Maybe there's a shortcircuit somewhere caused by a defective car charger.
Hello everyone!
I recenlty bought an other battery for my HD2. I have a problem that when i boot into android, it does not charge the battery but when i boot into clockwork recovery and put it on charging then it charges. In android, the amber light turns on but the battery keeps draining. On the screen it also shows charging but doesnt charge. i am using ★★★★HyperDroid-CM7-v2.0.1[a2sd+][CyanogenMod7 LEO 2.3.3]
I tried resetting batterystats.bin but it was of no use. The previous battery works and charges fine. Please help

Hi,
Are you now using an extended battery?
Thanks of the response,
No its 1230 mah.
Help, I'm having the same problem. My battery is no longer charger now matter how or where I plug in the phone (car, computer, AC outlet). I have a battery I bought from Batteries Plus that was working fine until yesterday when the battery indicator started going haywire and the battery wouldn't charge. I also have another battery I bought from eBay that is doing the same thing. They are both 1350 mAh batteries.
Check the connection battery pins on the phone there are 3 of them and sometimes they get bent up with taking the battery out and putting it back in mostly the center pin if any are bent up gently push down with light force until they all aligned and pointing strait towards the top of the phone. I hope that helps.
