I use a Galaxy 3 I5801, with DDJP2 stock and rooted.
I tried to apply kyrillos' new Honeycomb theme by flashing the zip file provided in the v5.0_Extra_package by renaming the file Honeycomb_theme-signed.zip to update.zip, and putting it in the sd card root folder.
But, in recovery mode, if i select SDCARD:update.zip option, it says :
E: can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0
E: Can't mount SDCARD:update.zip
Any solution to this?
Note: I was using kyrillos rom v4.1 oc before this, and I had used Madteam app2sd to partition my 16GB sd card, with 1GB app2sd space.
Would that be causing this problem?

You need CWM recovery to flash update.zip files .. DDJP2 has stock samsung recovery .. Flash any of the custom roms with cwm and you will be able to flash update.zip .. If you don't wasn't to flash a custom rim ask mumbozver for his cwm installer and run it for your phone...
thanks for the reply!
oh and one more thing, how do i get back the 1GB partition I made using Madteam app2sd while using kyrillos rom? or can it still be made usable in the stock rom?

It can be made usable...flash any fugumod 2.4 kernel...then use lestatious Data2Sd...that shuld do the trick...
i just flashed fugumod 2.4 beta3!
ran mount in terminal emulator (after su ofcourse), i see that all partitions (data,cache,system,efs...) are rfs file system..
what partitions do i need to convert to ext2 or ext4?
and how do i see and use my 1GB partition mentioned above?
thanks in advance!

Convert system and cache to ext2...and data to ext4...then use data2sd enabler of lestatious..and reenable data2sd
I converted the partitions data ext4 and system and cache to ext2!
But when i use EASS partition manager, i cannot see the swap and data2sd partitions at all.. It just shows a single FAT32 partition of 13.04 gigs!
And when i used data2sd enabler, and tried to reenable data2sd, it says path not found!

Hello everyone,
I've an issue and I am looking for your advise & support. I've bought HTC HD2 512 EU with the following NAND specification:
Android ver: 2.2.1
Baseband ver: 15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14
Kernel ver: 2.6.32.15-saint.J_Rev.005-g009fade-dirty [email protected] #8
Build no: Desire HD Rev.10.XU
Software no: 1.72.405.3
aMAGLDR V1.13
The Issue: I wanted to install App2SD to be able to install apps in SD Card.. I followed this thread => http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=926015 & followed Darktremor instructions here.. However, When I entered the MAGLDR menu /AD Recovery I found no CWM recovery mode "no boot source".. So what should I do next as Darktremor approach assumed that there is a CWM recovery mode to be able to format, partition and flash the App2SD, while I haven't!.. What should I do to make it work?
Thank you,
unzip attached file.put the folder you get to your sd card.in mgldr menu: services-boot settings-ad sd dir-find the folder and choose it. now you'll go to mgldr menu automatically now take the second choice:ad sd. so you'll go to ad recovery.(by this method you have to do all these steps each time in order to go ad recovery.so it is recommended to flash a recovery using daf and usb flasher.but this will erase your installed android rom.) and in ad recovery menu backup your current rom.because darktremors method doesn't go well with som roms.and know that it leads 2 extra reboots after you flash it.
mutil, thanks for the reply. I did as you mentioned.. got into the CWM successfully but failed to partition the SD correctly. After it said=> "Done..! partition SD successfully!" I got the screen full of errors like=>
E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E: Falid to find "cache" partition to mount at "/cache".
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
E: Can't find misc
P.S: I choose partition size of 1024mb & swap of 256mb..
Update: I ignored those errors & installed the App2SD & rebooted but didn't notice any change! The available space on the internal storage still 201mb!.. SD card now reads 14gb, previously 15gb..
download a2sdgui from market. move dalvik cache to sd.this gives you some more space.i think a2sd will work for applications you install from now on.therefore i install it just after i installed a new rom.btw 256mb swap is high. you must know that it may harm your sd (but i also use 128mb swap in spite of its risk)

Done!..
Thank you mutil...
About the swap, do you suggest me to redo the whole process again and limit the swap to maybe 128mb?.. I remember that swap partition is always double the mem size..
What is the max recommended ext partition size for the App2SD? because on the CWM you can make the partition up to 2048mb..
no just for that, it doesn't worth to redo everything.next time when you change rom you arrange it.i dont have much knowledge but the swap is said to harm sd-card.but as my experience it also improves speed.
Ext
If u want to install apps on EXT partition don't use App2SD,or A2ext use Data2ext.
Similar to a2ext, where data/app were stored inside your ext partition of the SD card, data2ext stores the whole /data inside your ext partition.
That means your internal storage will barely be used, and because nowadays some SD cards runs faster than your internal memory.
Instructions:
*This is a CyannogenMod version! Not tested on DHD Roms!
1.Make a Ext3 Partition via CWR
2. Flash data2ext_for_CM via CWR (attached) (DON'T FLASH IT ON THE FIRST BOOT OF ANY ROM!)
3. Go to your terminal emulator/adb shell to type data2ext --enable
4. Reboot
5. Go check your Ext storage via Titanium Backup(Your internal storage [220 mb~] will not be increased you must check the ext space from the Overview page of your Titanium Backup [SD card(a2sd):....mb(...mb free)])!

Hi,
I cant mount and wipe :
/data - it write : cant mount /dev/block/stl7
/cache - it write : cant mount /dev/block/stl8
/dalvik-cache - it write : cant mount /dev/block/stl7 (File exists)
it does not matter if I have JPQ or JPS, deodexed or stock - problem i same ...
any tips ?
Delete all partitions from your sdcard, format it (not in CWM, with a 3rd part program) and then re-create partitions (from CWM).

I did this already and it does not helped as it result to this state
I created partitions with CWM included at Kyrillos 7.0
I checked there are no difference at this CWM and CWM included at Kyrillos.
But I get same issue when I used later stock ROM and deodexed too with G3MOD 1.7 kernel. There was first time I see wipe issue ...
Now I am trying gparted, we will see. ..
OK, tested, I exactly did it like You said and unfortunatelly it does not work, I get same results :-( ... and what worst I will ahve to again move 32 GB of data -**** :-(
any other tips ? different kernel usage etc ?
thnaks for any help ...

when i had this problem once, the filesystems were gone from EXT2 / EXT4 to RFS after flashing a new rom.
i don't know which filesystems u use...
have a look into /sdcard/Android/data/g3mod/fs.current , if u use g3mod kernel. (for fugumod kernel it's /sdcard/Android/data/fugumod/fs.current)
put a file "fs.convert" in /sdcard/Android/data/g3mod/ (or .....fugumod/)
the file looks like attached... (!!! cut off .txt extension !!!)
after that you have to reboot (!!! not into CWM !!!) and WAIT PATIENTLY for the kernel to convert the filesystems.
After that you should have no problems anymore with the CWM recovery.
good luck!
/data + /cache deleted - pfeeeeeeeeeeeeee !
ufff,
as noone knows and nothing work, I tried some stupidity
I changed permission to /data and /cache and tied delete them manually (mean after it there were no /data and no /cache directory.
NO flash JPS helps, no wipe data helped , I though phone were to the hell , as I always stucked at screen lock , then I see some error message setup cant process, forced closure and phone restart .over and over again
I tried flash Kyrillos 7.0 OC and it works - I am back inj game again
anyway I think there have to be made some changes to CWM, because :
- Kyrillos ROM -all wipes and mounts work
- G3 MOd kernel - wipes and mounts does NOT work correctly
- other kernel after apply CWM - wipes and mounts does not work correctly
as i told you: after flashing JPS all filesystems are converted to rfs
you can also use g3modAPP to change it (only under g3 kernel i think)

what does it means to me ? - as Kyrillos 7.0 is JPS based too ...
If I will convert rfs to efs (?) will CWM work to me even at JPS ?
what partitions have to be converted to make CWM works ?
If Kyrillos use rfs too, can be CWM files riped backward from Kyrillos ROM /system to stock/deodexed JPS ?
I need JPS stock + fugumod ultra + 5lockscreen_extended menu + CWM
And I tried CWM at JPQ , same issue - cant mount /wipe

Ok, I will try, I did no tee your post because of some page error (my side ) thanks
if u use STOCK rom there is NO CWM.
Even NOT if u use fugumod kernel.
CWM is included in custom ROMs e.g. Kyrillos' ROM
and in G3mod kernel.
If u want to have CWM you must use one of both.
When u have flashed a stock rom, the filesystems are converted to RFS.
Look into above attached file and u will see what is usually used for partition filesystems.
mmcblk0p2 ext4 (external sd-partition)
stl6 ext2 (/system)
stl7 ext4 (/data)
stl8 ext2 (/cache)
Further, when u wanna use the external partitions on the sdcard u have to use Kyrillos' app2sd script in /etc/init.d
To convert the filesystems is a just suggestion - it should also work with RFS (though i'm not sure about that....)
but you have to look at /sdcard/Android/data/fugumod/fs.current to see what filesystems are used.

no, I am using Fugumod 1366 only, I get best results and most stable instead of G3MOD kernel 1.6 and 1.7
but I am not sure about ext2 vs ext4 someone test it on PC and ext2 get better speed results
hello to everyone, could someone help me with installing a rom with data on ext, and dalvik on nand ? the problem is i dont understand the function of ext4 partition, i tried with magldr and clk also, but when it comes to install the rom from sd-card it doesn't work... so please could somebody explain me how to use this ext4 partition. I know how to make it thru the partition manager, i know how to instal clk, magldr, and cwm, but after that i dont have a clue what to do, just copy instal.zip file to sd-card and instal it, or what ?
hope somebody will explain me ...
In most cases yes, you will just have to copy the zip file to your sdcard and when flashing the ROM, choose "DataOnExt". Unless the ROM doesn't natively support Ext4 (which is very rare), you'll just have to flash the script after flashing the ROM immediately.
thx

Check your storage with Titanium Backup. The system doesn't always show correct available storage depending on the script used.

you can try and just format data in cwm and then try to mount it
if it doesnt mount after format then odin will be the only way
please note if you were using cm7 then using percys cm7 #2 kernel will format your data/system partition to ext4
if you flashed a rom which contained a kernel that doesnt support ext4 system partitions your phone will not boot and you will have to flash stock rom via odin to convert your phone back to rfs system partition

hells fusion #50 supports ext4 system partitions
you can flash it via cwm if you can get the zip file onto your sd via another phone that you can put your sd card in or via another form of sd card reader
but if you can mount system and data after formatting them the best way is flash stock rom via odin
that was the log of the hells fusion

Hello Omkar,
Maybe, I don't understand you well. For me, a memory card is... a sdcard. Have you got external and internal sdcard/memory card? what recovery have you used? What tool are you using to know what space is or not free?
The memory card where you flash the ROM has some partitions: /boot, /recovery, /system, /cache, /data, /sdcard, /misc
The system partition could be 1GB (but... I think is too much) and basically contains the entire operating system. The data partition contains the user’s data and the sdcard is not exactly a partition. In terms of usage, this is your storage space.
I'm not sure that you format the entire memory card... I've just read a guide to Android partitions yesterday and other about ClockWorkMod Recovery and how to use it. They are complete and good. I would like to share them with you:

Hello omkar,
I'm sorry, but I'm not using the same phone model than you. If you're following a XDA thread to install cm9, it should be work.
I had a similar problem (it got freeze after flashing). I'm not sure what didn't work of the tutorial that I followed. So I decided to update the cwm recovery version and try with other CM. I followed the steps and I also formated the /system partition to make a "clean" installation of the CM. Finally it worked.
