Vodafone UK firmware - Galaxy S II General

I'm hoping to receive my SGS2 from Vodafone UK tomorrow.
I know they will have added their own bloatware on it so want to flash an original firmware or custom ROM straight away.
How can I get an image of the Voda firmware so that I can flash it back should I need to return the phone?

Look over in the dev forum for the complete guide to de-branding and re-branding. You'll have to wait until a Vodafone ROM shows up online but that'll be a matter of days I'm sure.

As far as I know vodafone don't put any bloatware on their handsets.

No bloatware the original sgs was full of vodafone crap

Excepting similar tweaks as per o2, startup logo and settings limited to vodafone. Hopefully it's in the post today so should be able to see the results tonight.
As for being able to restore to Vodafone FW, nothing at the moment, but once an update is out it will be fine, or wait for someone to try and extract it.

I had the original SGS from vodafone.co.uk and it no crap on it at all. Totally unbranded.

Has the UK Vodafone firmware been found yet? Looking for a copy for warranty/repair reasons.

You wont find it its not in the wild so to speak you have to save it or try .

Debranding X10

I know the phone is not rooted yet and people are currently working on this & also Di Vinci are working on a package
However, does anyone know how to debrand the phone without rooting the phone?
I have read about the seus blob fs method on a few forums? Has anyone else tryed this? Is this just a case of replacing a few files on SEUS?
Thanks
Just debranded my handset
You gonna tell how??

Ill upload a guide and files shortly.
Did this solve the problem of vodafone handsets not being able to connect to SE sync and are you now running the updated version? i'. still on 1.4

Have you tried this yourself and if so, does it actually work?
Also I'd be grateful if someone could explain to me the benefits of de-branding my handset.

[Q] Serve.me

Anyone know how to delete the Serve.me app that came reinstalled on the phone? I used Titainium Backup to uninstall it but it doesn't work.
Never heard of it. Is your phone rooted?
It's rooted. The Serve.Me app is in French. I found a Youtube video testing the app but I can't post external link. Just search for "Serve.Me John Paul" if you're interested.

I have never heard of this, however it could suggest that the phone is branded, perhaps debrand to get rid. I had an app called traffic tv that i just couldnt get rid of, once i debranded it disappeared no problem. It also means that the delayed 2.1 update will be available before your operator adds their "features"

With RootExplorer have a look in data/app-private and if there is an apk in there of it delete that too, and from data/app also.

I believe that app is installed in the generic french firmware.
I got rid of it by replacing the generic french firmware with uk generic.
How do I find out if my phone is branded and for what market? Sorry for the newbie question. I'm new to this forum.

Where did you get it from.
At a local store here in the US. I was told it's an oversea phone but didn't mention where.

with the lock screen visible.. press the following key combo..
Menu back back menu Back Menu menu back
This will give you a service menu... select "service info" then "Model info"
That will tell you the phone model, country, and brand.
Thanks. It states country is France and brand customized FR.
So i guess that mean its branded?
Is there a customized firmware for north america? I saw the debrand thread but there are too many files.
Not sure which to get.

Which FW for Tmobile UK 2.1

I need to reset my I9000 to stock so i can send it away under warranty, which ROM should i flash it with?
It came with Branded T mobile startup screen.
Thanks
There is no branded 2.1 rom you will need to wait for froyo. I have a back up of the non branded t-mobile rom but not the branded rom.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk
I see, i only want to send it back for gps issues with a hope to get a different handset so i dont mind waiting.
If i wait for the froyo release should that not be branded on the upgrade?
Also would i need to change my rom to the appropriate version?
Ta for the reply.

UK T-mobile Rom Download

Does any one know where i can get the original T-Mobile UK Rom from?
Thanks..
have you searched using google
You probably will not find it via a search as nobody seems to bother to back up the original and original roms are not released .
Only step is to install stock Eclair via Odin and hope for an upgrade to TMobile via Kies or possible registry spoof if it still works .

Vodafone Australia KF2 firmware

Hi Everyone,
Just got my new GS2 from Vodafone Australia.
Below is the frimware
hxxp://i.imgur.com/WlVEi.jpg
(cant post links yet)
And Keis says the following
PDA: KF2
PHONE: KF2
CSC:KF2 (VAU)
My question is - Does anyone want me to upload this firmware and if so point me to a guide.
wanted to get this out there before i root it and load a custom rom.
yep i certainly do my good fellow
God i hate the Spanish way of life! They're so lazy! I'm still on KE1 and no update via KIES. How did you find out about your update?
I didn't find out about it - thats the firmware the phone came with.
can anyone point me to a guide on how to backup and upload the firmware?
I'll upload the firmware later but I think this won't work for normal Galaxy S II phones as this is the GT-I9100T model.
I'm debating whether I should add it to the firmware thread because I don't want someone to accidentally flash this and brick the GT-I9100 device.
Beat me with a cricket bat and call me Andy! This SOB is nearly a GB is size!!!!!
WTH is in this firmware?
Crap, is this firmware good or something lol, i already loaded a custom rom on my one
it seems this firmware has problem browsing internet thru wifi.
Has no problem isung 3G but no thru wifi.
my other mobiles, notebook have no problem connect internet by using same router
I've added this to the carrier firmware thread in the dev forum along with kernel: http://www.multiupload.com/L13G7SSOVN
Please do not flash this on a normal GT-I9100 device, the firmware is for the GT-I9100T model and I don't know if it's compatible

Hey mate I'm in exactly the same boat as you, have an aussie vodafone sgs2, any chance you know the difference between the i9100 and the i9100t?
Also which kernel are you going to use? As im not sure which would be the correct one.
Thanks
Glenn

Hmm didnt notice the GT-9100T at first.
How/What should i check to compare with the normal 9100?
as for the firmware. since the model number is different can i still flash a custom rom and root it as normal?
I got no idea if anything is different and if it is it's nothing visible.
I'm not going to flash anything till I find out just to be safe

Ok so looks like there is no difference hardware wise. Makes sense that the optus one doesnt care about the 850Mgz band but i thought all GS2s were quad band.
Didnt expect a difference between them
i guess ill just try flash some stock and custom roms and see what happens.
does it matter that the custom roms are build on KF4 and i only have KF2?
Not sure on that one, hopefully someone can answer that for us.
If you do flash one let me know which one you use.
Also I assume you haven't rooted either, as I said I am going to wait for the moment.

In poland and this just appeared on my Kies for update, so far don't see anything new
I dont think rootingis going to be a problem, im sure superoneclick or something will be fine.
but i dont quite understand how kernels and firmware work yet
not sure what i can replace with what etc
can anyone help me to find csc for optus or australia ? sorry i am posting it here

So if I flash these files with ODIN, will this return my SGS2 - i9100T back to stock and return its warranty status, or do I need reset counters or something like that?
Thanks
Hi there...let me shed some light. I've flashed the previous version (KE6) of the Vodafone AU rom not realising it was a Vodafone AU rom on my GT-i9100 and it did not brick my phone. Instead, after flashing, my phone now says its a GT-i9100T
According to a thread I read here, the only diff between the GT-i9100 and GT-i9100T is the SAR value. The GT-i9100T has a lower SAR value, which, if I am not wrong, means that it is less harmful to humans
Apart from that, the hardware is identical between the GT-i9100 and GT-i9100T. I have been using the previous version ROM now for 2 days and so far so good ;-)
