Has anyone been able to pair this phone with Windows properly? When I try to pair it on my computer or laptop, it doesn't find the proper drivers and gives me an error that the device wasn't installed. I've installed (but since uninstalled) the PC Companion software, in case it had drivers, but it didn't help.
Works fine with me.

I installed 3rd party bluetooth drivers for my USB BT Adapter. It didn't work correctly, so I uninstalled the software which was removed from my computer, but overwrote my original XP SP2 BT drivers. Now everytime I startup my computer, it detects new hardware and asks me to find a driver. Windows Update can't find the driver and it asks for the manufacturer's CD which was bad to begin with. How can I get my original SP2 BT drivers back? Uninstalling the manufacturer settings has also screwed up my COM port and now I can't run ActiveSync.
I am having trouble getting my Wizard to communicate with a computer running Windows XP and ActiveSync 4.5. It's been awhile since I've synced it to an XP machine, as the one I primarily use is Vista, and it seems to work fine. When I plug it in it either sees it as an internet connection, or if I disable the advanced connection settings on my device it seems to install it correctly, but then it doesn't open up ActiveSync.
I'm running a custom WM6 rom that I installed about a year ago, and was looking to upgrade, which I hear XP is the most reliable for. Any idea what the problem could be? I also don't seem to be able to open Activesync by itself when the device is not installed, could it be a problem with the program itself on my XP machine?
yes
It must be the problem on the xp machine unisntall the activesync reset your pc... reinstall it and then i suggest you... if you will upgrade make a hardreset before plug your device to sync.
Well, that got ActiveSync working again on the PC, the icon showed up on the bar and I was able to open the program. But as soon as I plugged in my device, the program closed again, and now it won't open. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling again, but I got the same result. Any other suggestions?
Hi all
Just wondering if anybody has had this problem, I am trying to connect my HD2 to my PC which is on windows 7 64 bit using bluetooth, I have downloaded the updated drivers for the bluetooth adapter and the phone finds the PC and vice versa, when it gets to the stage of pairing I put both the code numbers in and windows starts to download drivers and then fails saying that "Bluetooth peripheral device driver not found" I have tried to update this driver from device manager using windows update but it still doesn't find it.
I can connect my wifes Sony Ericsson using the bluetooth no problem, so the problem must be with the HD2, any ideas would be appreciated.

I have the exact same problem. I am running also Win 7 64 bit. Would be good if anyone has a fix for that .
Hello guys ;
I'm having a problem getting my X2 recognized on my pc ( running windows 7 ) ....
First ,i want to say that i have it before working on my previous windows 7 version without nay problem , when I installed this fresh version of win 7 , it didn't recognize it correctly and it search for windows update and locate a strange driver ( Microsoft sync usb ) which changes nothing at all..
i tried downloading windows mobile Device center separately and installed latest version with driver update , but it also doesn't recognize it it appears to be installing a new driver but it end with saying " Driver installation failed - unidentified device "
the mobile device center works fie but doesn't see my X2 !!!!
I don't know where is the problem, can you help ?
did you load MS Sync wiht the phone connected via USB? When I re-installed it on my Win 7 PC, it only loaded the drivers correctly after I had the phone plugged in and connected.
When getting active sync from Microsoft, I assume that you choose the Win7 version and not the XP version ... (just checking).
Not sure what else I can offer other then it is working fine with the connection via the USB and via BT (the BT connection is with my work PC -- also Win 7 professional, the home PC is Win 7 Premium).
Good luck.
I did , no sue
it either sas " unidentified device - or device unplugged " .. or it installs driver for Microosft USB Sync "
any ideas ?
try to disable McAfee Firewall(or any other firewall) and reconnect ur phone

I have a Nexus 7 that used to be able to be seen (and trnasfer files) on my Win 7 64-bit Ultimate pc. It is not visible in Explorer now- think it happened after upgrade to 4.2.2
I have tried various ways and means from this site and others but still unsuccessful. My pc kept wanting to install MTP USB drivers everytime I plug the N7 into it even when I have it set as PTP; and the drivers always failed.
I downloaded the Universal naked Drivers and tried to install it as well but problem is that my device only show up as MTP USB (under portable devices) instead of as N7; and under that the drivers is always the failed MTP USB drivers. I cannot browse to install Universal Drivers here cos the pc will not accept it.
Really running out of my wits. Any advises please?
Thanks.
I had initial problems connecting to my pc after installing all the drivers from a toolkit. After searching, I followed a tip and installed pdanet on my phone and pdanet for android on my pc. Now I connect exactly like my phone or other storage with full access to the user storage on the n7 from the pc. Win 7 pro 64bit.
