Will updating to CM7.0.3 ruin my dual boot? - Nook Color Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I used Indagrooves method (on mobileunderground.info site, I can't post the actual link) for dual booting stock 1.2 (rooted) and CM7. It was posted there but a xda forum post led me there.
It went perfectly. Lately I keep getting messages from ROM Manager telling me that CM 7.0.3 is out and do I want to update? If I update from ROM Manager will it screw up my dual boot ability?
Thanks, in advance, for any help.

BTW you need both rom manager and rom toolbox from the market to get the builds for the GB cm7, right now rev is the only one getting the nightlies out to download, rom manager doesn't support them yet, and don't download it from rom manager because it will brick your phone and you will have to load from sbf all over.

Which is a good rom for the nook

I have tried them all and keep coming back to the MiRaGe rom in the development section. It just can't be beat! Try it and see if it's what you are looking for.

Or just try some ICS rom for the latest look and features. But don't expect the speed and the full hardware acceleration that the mature CM7 can provide.
Produced by NookColor at CM9 4.0.4

So since i didn't install cm7 on this nook i just have to download this into the sd card that has clockworkmod, wipe and flash right?
Thank you for your help.
Yes, this is the one. Be sure to wipe data, system and cache before installing rom.
This thread has some great instructions and settings to use with the rom.

Nook color Cm7 stuck after cwm update

I had a nightly build of Cm7 on my Nook color
I was using Rom manager to update cwm so that I could flash back to original stock Rom to give this as a gift for someone. now when the device reboots it won't load into cwm or reboot into Cm7. What should I do. I don't care about the data and I already have the signed 1.4.1 cwm stock. Zip on the sdcard.

Look at my tips thread linked in my signature. Your new CWM did not get copied properly and you are now in a recovery bootloop. Look at items A8 and A12.

Instead of complaining about the way I was helping you (which, by the way, is very rude), you could have searched xda. I did tell you what was wrong.
There is nothing confusing about my signature. It is very simple. You probably cannot see my signature because you are looking at XDA on your device with the xda app which does not show signatures. If you were using a browser the signature shows. You could have long pressed on the post in the xda app and it would have given you the option of opening the post in a browser.
If you want help, look there. The only way you are going to get out of this loop is to follow the procedures in my thread.

All that "developer this" and "thank me that" and you are confused by a signature?
<yodaspeak>The help is in the signature young padawan, mmm, hehe, Yeees, padawan, hehe.</yodaspeak>
I figured it out and yeah I was doing it from my device. I am not a developerudition and never said I was. And thankyou

As long as you got help that's all that matters. What could have been done differently to avoid the the raw nerves?

You basically have three options.
Run a rooted stock on internal memory. To get that use Manual Nooter 5.08.20 in the development thread. Here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=22480277
Run a Cyanogenmod (CM) ROM on internal memory, replacing stock. Use eyeballers guide to set that up. Here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=12797652
Or run a CM ROM from a bootable SD. Use my NC updated SD installation guide linked in my signature.
They each work equally well, just depends on what you want.

Right i understand that i was jut wondering why nobody follows the method on the cm website. Does it not work for certain versions? Does it not work at all?

It is probably out of date. Do you have a link. I could look.

That should work, but is so much more difficult than the eyeballer method. You have to make an unooter card, root stock with it so you can use ROM Manager. Then run ROM Manager to install CWM, boot to the new CWM and flash the CM ROM. A lot of extra steps. With eyeballers guide you just make a CWM card and flash with that. No need to root stock first.

O OK I see the difference now thanks
