with sammy announcement of froyo coming to all in november and it currently in beta for epic that means its imminent right?
nevermind... just read the other threads and they have confirmed ALL means everyone, UK and US. looks good.
It’s been confirmed that Samsung’s pushing out the upgrade to Android 2.2 to their Galaxy S and Galaxy A in their home turf of South Korea right now. (It wasn’t said if this included the carrier-specific offerings, so we’ll assume that those are excluded, for now.) Those on Vodafone may also be seeing the upgrade to Android 2.2 very soon as they’ve started pushing their specific upgrade out to their customers. This follows the widescale European rollout for unbranded/carrier-agnostic Galaxy S devices not too long ago. Be on the lookout for these upgrades and let out a big sigh of relief after you’ve received them. Then let’s hope Samsung gets things rolling a bit quicker for the impending Gingerbread release. From Phandroid
According to an article on tgdaily.com, Froyo will be available from Samsung at 8PM tonight. Quote from the article:
Samsung has announced that later tonight, at 8:00 PM, a download will become available to SamsungMobile.com that will be compatible with all Galaxy S devices, upgrading them to Android 2.2.

I have no idea how reliable this information is, but I'm hoping it's true!

I got chewed on T-mo forums for posting this, so good luck with this.

One commenter on this site says it appears to only be for Korean Galaxy S owners:

Looks to be very much in the "rumor" category at this point.

I am not claiming it's true, only sharing the information. At least this is better than one of those "my cousin talked to a guy at a bus stop who works for T-Mobile, and they said Froyo is being released for the Vibrant in 20 minutes!" posts.
Lololol... By 8pm you will get 'froyo'...
F - Flamers
R - Rampaging
O - On
YO - YOu

I won't flame. the article states that it "should" be compatible with all SGS phones. I don't know, it's been such a ordeal with Samsung/Tmo dragging their feet. Yes, this is better than "this guy i know who knows a guy said we were getting it on xxx" but it still doesn't give us a set date. This just says that SGS phones will get it, very vague with Vibrant/Fascinate/Epic/Captivate phones. We'll see I g uess.
I was going to head over to PinkBerry around 7, but I guess I can wait until 8.
Wait, what's all this phone talk about?
I guess their timezones are off by a few weeks, I am running Froyo for at least a week and a half.

I won't. I appreciate that you posted it with a ? at the end. You are posting a link to a blog post for discussion. No one should kill you for that.
Most of the Froyo newbie rumor people would have posted it as "Froyo to be released at 8pm tonight!!!!!"
Those are the idiots who deserve to be chewed out.
