I've noticed that .mp4 movie files are missing (or deleted by something) after rebooting. Anyone else notice that? .wav files seem to stay in tact.
I have restarted mine several times and have not lost any of the .mp4 files on mine. Maybe you have an app that is conflicting with the files?
Thats what my first thought was, ill check on it tonight.

Yeah that's a known issue. We stopped deleting those files a while back.

It causes other problems as well. Hoping you took it out with something you can replace it with.

yeah i did a cwm backup so i just simply flashed to it
There used to be a trick to get it working for a day,but it would never stick...

Deleting one of those also causes the music player to only play one song them freeze up.
I used root explorer to remove those and no ill effects

Hi
I dont know why the pictures and videos of my games shows up in the gallery. Is there a way to remove them without deleting them from the game directory?
It never happened before but it happened since i upgraded to darky 9.5

Simply place an empty file called .nomedia in each directory you want to hide. Don't forget the dot in front of the name.

awesome thanks. it works
I took a really important 2 minute video of our kids over the long weekend with my Epic 4g. While recording, I paused the video, then exited the camera app without saving the video. I now can't find the video, and am prettty sure it is lost. But, is there ANY way I can get that video back? Any cache or anything else I can check? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!! I am running SRF 1.1.1.

Sounds like it's gone...the only thing I can think of is check the LOST.DIR file in your sd card and look for a large file. If you have one, try opening it up with a video player on your computer (vlc should work)

If it was saved it would be in the dcim file on your sd card. Get astro from the market and look on your sd card for it.

ES file explorer will let you open any file as a video file. Probably the fastest way to do it.
Thank for all of the advice, but I was unable to find the video. We had some heavy storms on Friday night, and the kids were slip-n-sliding in the mud. One of those moments for the scrapbook. Oh well. Thanks again to all for offering suggestions!

I've had similar problems in finding pics I took, which I thought was lost. I think a power off and on made them show back up in gallery app.

You guys,
i was messing around online and i got the Froyo build of youtube to work on the continuum. all you have to do is,
1. Get astro or something simalar and delete (or rename) the stock youtube app.
2.Download the attached apk.
3.find it in astro and install.
4. reboot and enjoy!
feel free to post if there's any problems.
What are the advantages of froyoutube? Is it working 100%?
well , it is mostly just a ui facelift, its a little easier to navigate. the only issue that im aware of at this point is that if you login to your youtube account, it throws you into a force close loop.
I signed in and I'm not having any force closes or anything else wrong so far

Noice. i have no idea why its doing that to me, maybe youtube cant verify that im running Froyo?
Damn. I was hoping that maybe it would support the Shows on youtube There's a butt load of funimation anime on there as well as quite a lot of other things I'd love to watch, but you can't
Wait. Never mind. It started force closing after I restarted my phone :/
Grr. So frustrating.

Yeah, these issues are known for this build.... I would wait until we are on froyo to use this

I noticed this when browsing through my videos on mx player. I've never known it to be found here, let alone twice. Easiest way to explain it would be to just look at the screens. Anyone else have this issue?

that 'media-rw' folder you have has symlink(s) to the storage(or mnt) directories.
Like a shortcut to a directory.
That makes sense. I was thinking it was a shortcut. So, two things I think it could be is either folder mount, or Google+ backup. I didn't notice it before either of these, but I've since turned off backup. It's slightly annoying since all folders duplicate within my video player.

So I'm going to do a backup and delete those shortcuts, see what complains about it. Anyone know?
