I haven't seen any other threads about the bugs found with EE03. So I will begin tracking via this thread.
Battery usage screen is reporting incorrectly. Does not show correct value for display and shows a very high value for android.settings
Capacitive buttons are not behaving correctly. Seeing different things, some see them not being light up, some see screen goes full brightness when they fade out. Temporary fix is to tie the keyboard timeout under display settings to match display timeout.
3G issues, when turning off wifi, 3G does not always turn on and sometimes need airplane mode to be toggled. Others have reported issues with 3G not turning on at all until a full reboot.
Random screen issues, occasionally flashes full brightness and/or flashes black.
4G issues waking up from sleep mode.
Overall laginess and slow display response
GPS issues continue. If the gps works seems more responsive but many still have issues
Battery drain issues

The fact the display has been on for 10 out of the 10 minutes and yet is 3%... wifi is using more than the display yet the sytem is using 90%? Not possible.
Its showing overall time use. Not battery consumption

Actually it is possible. Just think about what you where doing in that 10 minutes? Alot of **** dling in the back ground?
Typed from a man on his phone while flying a plane heading towards the samsuck corprate office.
I flash ROMs themes etc atleast every week or so.... I'm not a epic and/or android newb. Trust me this is not normal. I have looked at this screen many times and display should be at the top if the phone is being used a decent amount. So, how about after 30 minutes of me leaving the phone on my desk screen on directly after a reboot? Should still be this? It's bugged at least for the display portion. I mostly made this thread as a way to track EE03 bugs, but this has to be the first time I have ever seen people jump so fast to defend things as not a bug.
My display is also at 3%. Very well might be a bug. Not an important one at all though.

I agree it's not important, but it's the only bug I can find! lol It's a great thing, but a bug is a bug.

Was just about to report that. I noticed the same. In addition the timeout can not be changed with the tying the keyboard timeout to the display.

Try tying the keyboard timeout to the screen, that mostly fixes it.
Thank you for creating this thread. Didn't want to sort through 80 pages of thanks, praise and relief over in DEV to see what known bugs I will be looking forward to when I try this.
Do you BONSAI?
Yeah, the capacitive buttons are wonky in this release. Even with my usual setting of tying keyboard light to screen timeout, it seems the capacitive buttons just turn off randomly at times.
Other bugs I've had with EE03: touch screen less responsive (seen a few others reporting this) and even worse 3G than I was already suffering from. These along with broken GPS were complete deal killers for me so I Odin'd back to EC05.
I notice all my apps are using over 30mb+ each when it's usually 5-15mb ..memory leak or something ?

my home screen partially blacks out at seemingly random times. pull down the notifications, turn the phone so it auto-rotates then push the notifications back up. does this happen for anyone else?
When switching into Airplane mode and then back you lose 3g. If you resart while in airplane mode you will still not have 3g connectivity.
Fix seems to be toggling airplane mode off and then restarting, it restored connectivity for me at least.

Does seem iffy. I tested and airplane mode fixed mine however when I turned off wifi 3G remained off until I toggled airplan mode. If I was guessing, i would say modem issue.

Greetings,
Guys, first of all, I'm no pro, this worked for me, it may not work for you, and its not the 'solution' for people who wish to be connected to internet 24/7.
- I have no Dataplan, Vibrant would connect and eat through my balance on EDGE/GPRS.
- I downloaded an app from Google Market, "Quick Settings" (search for it)
- Run Quick Settings and Turn off Mobile Data. It should show "Disconnected"
Basically, I did this with intention to save my precious hard earned money but the side effect appears to be that my Battery life suddenly has gone insane.
Before when I did have GPRS on, I would regularly check Advanced Task killer and kill apps in attempt to stop apps from connecting.
My use has been more or less same, I'm not a Power user, just take it to office, use now and then, and the battery would finish up in ~9 hours, 10 tops.
Anyway, here is the result

You can do this by just holding power then pressing Data Network.. or simply going into WiFi settings and disabling the phone from being connected from the internet.
Of course if you're using the phone without it being connected to the internet, a lot of power isn't going to be consumed. It's a smartphone, supposed to use the internet on it.
A tip I would recommend is to use SuperPower and it can do a bunch of tweaks to improve your battery (screen off; disables data.. things like that).
i dont have a dataplan either, but i DO text, if i do that, will it just turn off all communications like text and phone calls? I only use web when im at home with my WIFI.
I'm just wondering, why did you get a smartphone with no data? I see that you're not even using wifi. Why not just get a Windows 6.1 phone or a Blackberry or something?

I do have access to WiFi, tho I use it more at home and other places, less during work.
I dont have a data plan because there is only EDGE/GPRS available on it, no 3G *yet*.
So when I do want to check on something, I simply turn it on for a minute or two, check on my mails or anything else etc and be done. Otherwise, what was happening was, I'd get connected even tho when I did not wanted it to connect. It was costing me for nothing. I can do other syncs etc at home or 100 other places that have wifi.
I did not get Windows 6.1 phone or Blackberry is because Android > them both. I assume you know that already. + Awesome screen is awesome.
As I said very clearly earlier and I shall repeat it for you, this may be useful for people who have same profile of usage patterns as myself.
Please tell me that 19 hours isn't the best you got.

As for disabling the internet, i just check the box in settings to not use data. under wireless settings or something. I don't pay for data because no 3g in my area also.
Why not just put the Power Control widget on your home screen somewhere? The button between GPS and Brightness toggles whether you allow apps to sync on the 'Net or not.
IOW if you turn that toggle off you won't get email unless you launch your email reader, you won't get anything from the 'Net unless you initiate it.
Me? I just installed Onyx from Team Whiskey and I can go 3 days without worrying about my battery life if I'm just doing limited usage of the phone.

I am using cm7 with honey theme. When I try to turn off screen, it freezes with upside down lock screen showing. It doesn't happen everytime but randomly..3 times since yesterday... No keys or buttons work and needs to hard reset by taking the battery out. Kernel I use is Faux123smartass and I use setcpu but don't oc. Has anyone happened this to u? Got any solution to this problem?

Yes. I have experienced this many times. A couple suggestions for you. Uninstall SetCPU and flash faux's version 2.1.5 STOCK voltage.
Wait... which version of CM7 are you on? nightlies or RC2?
I had this same issue. Ended up being because I had setcpu to clock down to 245 with screen off. Disabled that and problem was gone.

Yes it is probably the kernel. There was an issue of this happening with one of the ROM's and the faux kernel that it came stock with. Flashing a different kernel fixed the issue. Definitely flash another faux kernel, as his are the best, it's just a compatability thing..
my setcpu setting when screen off was set to 245 min, so I changed it to 768 instead. But it did not solve my problem. Screen got frozen again and now I just changed the faux kernel to a stock one. I will see how it goes..btw i am using CM7 RC2.
Yes, but I solved the problem by changing my setcpu screen off profile to 368 instead of 245. used to always get upside down freezes but I changed it &never had one since! it's not any kernal problem & u don't have to disable the setcpu screen off all the way. just don't set too low

I will give that a try! Always trying to squeeze the most battery we can =]
I have 245 as my min setting. I got the upside down screen a couple times, but each time it fixed itself either after a few seconds or after turning the screen off and on again. I never did a battery pull.
Man I thought I was the ONLY ONE with this annoying problem! I too have been suffering from this. Do you guys get like a strip of screen garbage by the upside down unlock screen too? (the strip looks like a tv screen with no channel)
I changed to 368 minimum for set cpu with no results, I still get it. I think sometimes like once a week.
I also noticed if I shake shake the phone, try to unlock upside down, etc, it does this.
I have to press the track pad and then wait for normal screen again...annoying as hell.
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App
I changed the setcpu setting...didn't work
so I changed the kernel...it seemed like working fine...til now..
It just got frozen AGAIN! I don't know what else I need to do except formatting..
it's really annoying to pull battery in and out everytime
mine never fixed itself..I wouldnt be as concerned if it were fixed itself.
yea i get that stripe line too..first it doesnt appear, but with little vibration, it appears afterward. It keeps soft vibrating but no buttons work at all.
Please keep on investigating this and help each other out in order to help me... I need to find a commonality between all of you who are experiencing this issue...
I am lurking this thread.... I will get to the bottom of this, but I need more involvement with users helping each other and trying out different things...
Faux123
Ps. I forgot to mention I am stock. Although I am rooted s off with all bloatware removed, I am stock everything. I do however have set cpu for screen off. But I remember getting the upside down screen before I started the root, etc.
So the kernel being the culprit may be wrong.
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App
I was running a screenshot program "shoot me" in background tried to see if I could capture that frozen upside down screen with tv noise stripe screen in the middle. The upside down screen popped up while it was charging so I shook my phone to get screen captured. I could hear capturing sounds twice but not more than that. I shook my phone several more times but seemed like phone itself is dead by that time. After I reset the phone, two screenshots were captured but with no stripe line! Also it captured normal lock screen not upside down screen.
One more thing! I have noticed a weired phone battery stat right after I reset my phone. It was charging when upside down screen showed. So I captured screenshots and unplugged the AC charger from the phone to reset it. It was at 88% when that happend. However, it went straight up to 99% after I hard reset by pulling off battery and putting back in. The term between screen capturing and noticing weired battery stat was only 8 minutes and the phone was not charging during that period. Even It was on charging, it would have not been gone up to 99% in 8 minutes. I am attaching shots I have taken thogh it looks normal but check out the battery stats.
I am not sure whether it is related with upside down screen but I thought I check.

I have had the same problem since I bought mine back in November! And I thought it's only my phone because I never seen this thread until now.
It's really annoying because it usually happens when I get a call, and because the screen is locked up I always end up missing the call. It's driving me crazy!
I tried the G-sensor calibration and it didn't work. The setcpu suggestion didn't work as well. My phone is rooted but the ROM is stock.
I also have that other problem where the suspend process eats up all the CPU cycle and drains the battery quickly. I have two problems pretty much since I bought the phone. It really leaves a bad taste in my mouth when it comes to the quality of Android.
I just got my phone 3 days ago.
Rooted it within an hour. And setup setCP, with stock kernel.
No issues, the next day i installed tons of random apps, and trying stuff, set my setCPU profiles up, and then installed GPS tracker (instamapper.com), went to unlock it, and BAM upside screen, with the brown/grey/black fuzzy just under the LOCK part.
To fix it, i just tap the lock to turn off the screen, and hit it again and it is fine. For the next 6 hours (yay for days off) I was downloading random apps and playing with setCPU profile and stuff. And kept getting random crashes, about 8 or so in a few hours.
I thought the issue was the GPS tracker since it all started AFTER that app, so i uninstalled that. Still happened once more that night. All morning it was fine, at work it happened twice, before my batteries died after 5 hours...
The only thing note worthy i have seen is it ONLY happens if profiles are turned on
edit:
So just a moment ago it happened again.
I noticed had profile set on with setCPU, at 45% clock down to around 3/4ths for max.
And i looked at my battery life, 45%.
I quickly set up another profile to go off at 43%, used my phone for a few mins playing angry birds, let it auto sleep, and clicked the button, BAM, upside down.
So has something to do with the profile kicking in, or maybe just the fact when the phone is being underclocked?
Anyone else wanna do any tests with their non-stock kernels?
For those of you that have a transformer that wont deep sleep whether its on or off the dock, doesnt matter you can get a app for that. its called Auto Airplane Mode, and it puts your transformer in airplane mode each and every time you turn the screen off, i have noticed a huge difference in battery life after installing this app. using Cpuspy my transformer went into deep sleep for 10 mins max a night for the last week. installed Auto Airplane Mode and the transformer goes into deep sleep within a min of turning screen off now. I already had the wifi set to turn off when screen is off and everything, the only thing i did was add this app.
app link https://market.android.com/details?id=com.blogspot.donkun3.autoairplane
nice find, works great. Best part is that it turns airplane mode off when i turn the screen back on.
yep i have noticed so far my battery life has almost doubled since installing the app, just nee dto make sur eyou get the correct one, one is automatic the other is you set the time, you want the automatic one. it says it in the description. But this app is great.
Ive also been using this app for the last few days. It works as advertised and defnitely increases battery life.
is it the one made by be1ay ?
I dont get this app, do you basiclly use only for the night? as there's no option to use every time the tablet goes to sleep, just set a time area...

Uhhh at wifi and networks there is a section called wifi disconect policy. You can set it to disconnect wifi when your screen powers off. No need to install any apps
tested auto airplane and i'm not sure it worked, put the table to sleep and docked, after 16 hours the keyboard/dock lost 60%, 60% while asleep that can't be right, my netbook lost nothing

Search for AudioOut_1 on this forum, more people have problems with it. Solution is to disable touch sounds and vibrations (Settings - Sound). I find them annoying anyway, like the camera shutter sound. Why the hell do we need to emulate mechanical sounds on a device that has no moving parts?

My Note won't go to sleep after unplugging the phone after a nights charging. Need to reboot my Note to get it to deep sleep.
Anyone recognize this problem? Solution?

Airplane mode on, then turn off device, take battery out for some minutes, battery back on, turn on, disable Airplane mode.
If this doesn't work, try to see if disabling Data Connection makes your device go to deep sleep.

Probably my deepsleep problem has something to do with data connection, it seems more frequent when i have it on and wifi turned off. But it does happen too when the opposite is true (wifi on, data off).
So what shld i do?
This started happening about a week ago... I didn't install any new apps in particular. I've attached screenshots to the post.
Screen-on time is a little below an hour in these screenshots.
As you can see Android OS and Android System are at the top of the list by a long shot. Android System seems "normal" in the sense that it has 58mn of CPU time and only 18mn of wakelocks (as reported by the built-in battery menu).
Android OS however kept the phone awake for 6h11 which seems like a lot. I'm not rooted, so I did the ADB USB trick in order to pull stats out of Wakelock Detector, and all of the apps clearly don't add up to six hours. Especially not the usual suspects like Google Services, Facebook, etc.
Diagnosis shows a LOT of system processes, and I'm not sure if that means 1) it's all good as far as user land goes (I don't have any weird apps) 2) there's a system process gone rogue for some reason 3) the cause isn't showing up 4) something else???
Does anyone have any idea what's going on?
I have the same issue. Tried greenifying everything. No dice. I reboot, phone fine, then stays away. I will say that my battery life is good though, but this riddle is driving me nuts
Here is my issue, look at away bar.

Me too - 910F - im on Lollipop, but struggling to make it through a day at the moment.
Checking my Battery Graph is the same Story - my phone seems to be Awake constantly.
Seems Android System is using it....
Anyone have any ideas?
I can only recommend rooting your phones and change roms or kernels.
TW is heavy on battery and if you change to a CM rom the battery life will increase dramatically.
I have rooted all my phones since the very first android phone ever made and i cannot own a non rooted device as the freedom of rooting is just to awsome to ignore.
Every time i have battery issues i ether change my rom or kernel and then my issues goes away...
Can't root Verizon unfortunately
Hmm. Try this. Unchecked under advanced wifi, the option to let Google and apps use wifi, even when wifi off. Since then, 12 hours, I have had normal sleep. Did reboot after Unchecked. . Premature to say I fixed it, but so far so good.
Update. Since unchecking that wifi option, phone sleeping normally still.
Update #2- after 36 hours. It's back! Awake constantly. Unreal

I can't think of a reason it would do this... I feel like an iphone owner
Ironically I see no difference in battery life.... Hahaha. But driving me nuts.
I get through entire day... About 3.5 screen hours on. At 7pm I'm at 20% typically. Maybe that's bad?
