Screen went black, "golden" spot in upper right - Omnia 7 General

I just unpacked my Omnia 7, charged and configured it at work.
When I went home in the subway the same day, while reading web pages, the screen went suddenly completely dark with banding color effects, lasting for ca. 4 seconds.
The device seemed responsive as it made noises, and the soft keys seemed to work, too.
At home I discovered a golden spot at the upper right corner of the display, as if a layer of AMOLED was burned off.
I sent it to Samsung repair center.
Anyone else with that mysterious defect?
edit: MOD please move this thread to "Omnia 7 General"

[Q] Water under screen - white spots remain

Hi,
weeks ago I have received a phone call during taking a shower, I picked the Trophy, completed the phone call with wet hands and after leaving the bathroom I noticed that water entered the phone; the screen was getting white from the bottom. The phone did not fall into the water, only some amount of water entered the phone (from my wet hands only). After couple of minutes, about one third of the phone's screen (from the bottom) was white. I did not know what to do, but after about an hour I noticed that the white portion of the screen was reducing slowly; it seemed that it is slowly drying. I left the phone until the morning when I noticed that the white portion reduced considerably and then day after day the white portion was smaller, it took about 3-4 days for the majority of white portion to disappear. Well, only the small white spots remained and now they won't go away, it's about three weeks now, they are not getting any smaller, so it seems they will remain.
Could it be that there are only spots on the inner screen (e.g. from shampoo) that should be wiped out manually or is it possible that the screen is broken?
Is it somehow possible to access the inner LCD screen? Do I have to remove the outer screen?
The spots are clearly visible on a gray screen (e.g. Internet Explorer's default tab), in general they are much more visible on the light screens. With dark screens (e.g. black) they are barely noticeable, they look more like a dust and you see them only if you look carefully.
The visibility of the spots is also very affected by the angle at which you look at screen; from some angles they are not seen at all, from some angles they are clearly visible. This is also valid for light screens.
I had no problems with the visibility of the screen when it was white, everything was displayed OK (e.g. I could read text), it was only a bit pale and these white spots now are simply annoying.
Thanks

Same here.
I have the same problem with my nexus 5, was wondering if you found a solution or did the stains go away with time?
I believe its the separation of the glue between the touch screen and the lcd.

Screen problem (not separation or flickering)

I have had my n7 for a few days now and apart from the screen being a tiny bit raised on one side it has all been good. Turned it on a minute ago and the screen went mental, about a quarter of the right hand side showing up on the left and then flickering from side to side. I tried turning the auto brightness off and it stopped flickering but it left the screen with a bit of the right stuck on the left side. After a few minutes trying different apps I clicked on music and it went away.
Anyone else had this? Video drivers maybe?
Stock rom by the way.

Upper half of Nook color display remains white

Hi All,
I have a nook color running CM7.
Few days back all of a sudden I saw upper half of the display remained white, though the touch is working in white portion too.
And when I turned off and on the nook, 5-6 times the white part of display first started to show multi-color very narrow strips (like bad reception on TV) and then started working. And to my bad luck just next day it went back to same situation and now remains same always.
The upper half is always white when turned on, touch is still working even in the white part.
I know how to tear apart the nook. Any part of hardware where I need to look, any guidance will be highly appreciated.
(I have snaps of the screen but do not know how to put the image here )
Thanks a lot in advance.
can anyone please take a look

nexus 6 half white screen flicker (PHONE iS UNUSABLE)

So I was watching a video on my Huawei Nexus 6p GOLD 64 gb, and suddenly I get a black screen. Everything's working fine. I can still unlock the phone and I hear the touch sounds and the fingerprint scanner is working but the screen is black. I've only had the phone for two months now. I have a case and tempered glass on the device and I've never dropped it or exposed it to harsh conditions. So what could be the problem?
P.S This happened twice to me today and the phone goes back to normal but it has a pink vertical line from the top to the bottom of the screen on the right side. When the screen goes black anything I try to do with the phone I get a half white screen flicker and the left side would show me the normal screen sometimes.
Thanks in advance.
Looks like a dying AMOLED panel. I guess you'll have to get it serviced.

S8+ screen shadow on edges

Hello,
After I received the latest update which enabled more options like gamma in display settings I've noticed while browsing that on a full screen white background the edges tends to drop somehow a gray shadow.
While I think this is kind of normal because of the edge curvature, looking straight in the center of the phone, the right shadow is somehow more pronounced than the left one.
If I move the phone a bit to the left or turn it few degrees to the left, the right shadow disappears while the left is starting to be pronounced.
Also when I look at the phone horizontal, with the usb connector on the right side, the bottom edge doesn't exhibit any pronounced shadow while the top can be seen. The top shadow is the previously right one.
If I turn it with the usb connector on the left, the bottom shadow is visible while is also the top one. Previously the bottom was not visible.
I was thinking maybe this is how the crystals are aligned like in a tn screen when looking from bellow the center screen the top starts to get darken, but from left to right not top to bottom on s8 plus.
I know it's not a tn screen but still, maybe this technology has a small drawback.
I went in 2 retail shops to check their displayed testing phones.
One of them had a smaller gray shadow on the right side than mine, but had a very faded red shadow on the left side. While the other seemed somehow equal on shadows, I couldn't figure it out better because of the blue neon lights in the store. The best can be seen at home during the night or in moderate day light. Anyway when I put my hands around the screen it seemed to have a bit more shadow on right side but less than mine, but no faded red on left side. Also I noticed that the white was different on all 3 of them, but this is not an issue.
Did someone else can also test this shadow behaviour if it is more pronounced on the right than on the left side and also if it's not visible at the bottom with the usb port at the right while is visible top and bottom with the usb connector on the left ?
Thanks
