Hi,
weeks ago I have received a phone call during taking a shower, I picked the Trophy, completed the phone call with wet hands and after leaving the bathroom I noticed that water entered the phone; the screen was getting white from the bottom. The phone did not fall into the water, only some amount of water entered the phone (from my wet hands only). After couple of minutes, about one third of the phone's screen (from the bottom) was white. I did not know what to do, but after about an hour I noticed that the white portion of the screen was reducing slowly; it seemed that it is slowly drying. I left the phone until the morning when I noticed that the white portion reduced considerably and then day after day the white portion was smaller, it took about 3-4 days for the majority of white portion to disappear. Well, only the small white spots remained and now they won't go away, it's about three weeks now, they are not getting any smaller, so it seems they will remain.
Could it be that there are only spots on the inner screen (e.g. from shampoo) that should be wiped out manually or is it possible that the screen is broken?
Is it somehow possible to access the inner LCD screen? Do I have to remove the outer screen?
The spots are clearly visible on a gray screen (e.g. Internet Explorer's default tab), in general they are much more visible on the light screens. With dark screens (e.g. black) they are barely noticeable, they look more like a dust and you see them only if you look carefully.
The visibility of the spots is also very affected by the angle at which you look at screen; from some angles they are not seen at all, from some angles they are clearly visible. This is also valid for light screens.
I had no problems with the visibility of the screen when it was white, everything was displayed OK (e.g. I could read text), it was only a bit pale and these white spots now are simply annoying.
Thanks
Janez
Same here.
I have the same problem with my nexus 5, was wondering if you found a solution or did the stains go away with time?
I believe its the separation of the glue between the touch screen and the lcd.

Has anyone had issues with the screen getting discolored down by the menu and home keys. I just noticed today that when I use my camera or if I load messages, or anything else other then a black background that my screen now has a grey splotch at the bottom part of the screen.
Only had the phone for a couple of months never dropped, but also noticed I have 2 cracks in the bezel one similar to the other issue around the power button and now one by the HDMI output...my phone is falling apart
When I first got my Nexus 7, I checked to see if there was any noticeable screen lift, and I didn't notice any. I could use my tablet without issue, and can still use it without issue.
Yesterday I decided to actually inspect my tablet over carefully though (was bored at the moment). Turns out, either the glass screen itself or the silver bezel is uneven? The glass either goes above the bezel, or the bezel goes above the glass, at a few random spots.
The top of the tablet is fine. The middle of the left side is raised a bit, the bottom of the right side is raised a bit, and the entire bottom isn't as far down as the top.
I don't have any poping/cracking noises when I press on the screen, and afaik, all touches are registered without issue. Everything seems to be working just fine.
There is a saying about not fixing what isn't broken, but, is there perhaps a way to make the screen go down below the bezel more evenly?
Hi all...
I have just notice two days ago a grey line on my screen...(left side)
Really noticeable on a grey screen (not for red/green but also present on blue, just less...). I have never noticed this before, despite of being several hours per day on my screen since several monce... No drop....
As you can see, small spots are also visibles, particulary on bottom left side (like "commons" dot on amoled screen). Its like a strip causing a little gradiant on left side (when looking very hard....)
I can see it on screenshot so it's a screen issue...
I saw a lot of thread reporting grey lines due to amoled technology, but i think my case is a little bit different...
Photos of my screen are here:

Anywone have this issue? It's not very noticeable but enought to boring me... But for the moment i can deal with it...
Thx for your feedback..

If you use your phone a lot in landscape mode, the grey line could be screen burn in from the status bar. I have read about people claiming this can happen (not necessarily in landscape mode.) It looks to be the right width to suspect this.
Of course, i think you're right! I suppose the only solution is to change the screen right? It can be considered as a screen default for warranty?
So I was watching a video on my Huawei Nexus 6p GOLD 64 gb, and suddenly I get a black screen. Everything's working fine. I can still unlock the phone and I hear the touch sounds and the fingerprint scanner is working but the screen is black. I've only had the phone for two months now. I have a case and tempered glass on the device and I've never dropped it or exposed it to harsh conditions. So what could be the problem?
P.S This happened twice to me today and the phone goes back to normal but it has a pink vertical line from the top to the bottom of the screen on the right side. When the screen goes black anything I try to do with the phone I get a half white screen flicker and the left side would show me the normal screen sometimes.
Thanks in advance.
Looks like a dying AMOLED panel. I guess you'll have to get it serviced.
Simply put, I accidentally dropped my J3, and now large areas of bright color (such as the white of a search bar) spreads across the screen, depending on orientation, e.g. in Firefox, while in landscape, the white of the address bar bleeds onto the tab count and 3 dot menu, and in a game I play, the large bright blue wording against a back background bleeds across both sides of the image.
It isn't usage hindering as much as it is annoying, and the main thing worrying me is, will I HAVE to replace the LCD, or is it just a small issue that can be ignored? Would love a reply ASAP, as this is the only phone I have with service and if a replacement is necessary I would like to know as early as possible.
That's what happens with AMOLED displays unfortunately. Over time it will only get worse. The best thing you can do is get it replaced
