Firmware Update via Kies resulted in error - Galaxy S II General

Hi All,
I just updated my S2 via Kies and now get the com.android.phone 'Force Close' error if I restart the phone.
Not rooted, using Launcher Pro as not a fan of Touchwizz.
Any ideas? Anyone else seen the error?
Thank you
Razz

at a guess your on orange? there is a bug for orange users, just use ke1 as there is no real change...some even say ke2 is worse

Yes... I am on Orange. Phone bought from P4U so it is unlocked / unbranded. Why would putting in an Orange SIM cause this issue?

Many apologies. I have seen there is a thread about this already. Obviously not great at searching.
Admin can close / delete this waste of cyber ink!
thanks

Orange UK branding

i got my x10i on contract with orange a few weeks ago im not sure what version i was on upon recievership but i did update it to 020
now im struggling to find any orange branding on the device and this leads me to a question
normally handsets are carrier locked and updates come to us via carrier
but since i can use seus and the pc companion im assuming the device isnt locked
but i cant seem to get the 026 update ive tried the pc companion and seus and im getting nothing nor by ota
i also had a glance at the updates by country and i saw orange isnt listed as a carrier
just 3 vodafone generic and another one
anyone goit any clues??
its not so much the update im after ity more the clarification as to when i get them
ie do i get it when sony ericcson say so or do i have to wait

I've read some branded handsets are and some aren't, so it could just be the luck of the draw, but I assumed SEUS would just flash newer carrier firmware anyway so doesn't necessarily mean it isn't locked.
well ive waited and waited and still havent got the newest update has anyone else got the x10 on stock orange non rooted software and have been issued the newest update ive tried all the normal ways

Try running the "repair" method using SEUS if you haven't already, as I've seen some report that that has updated the handset to a newer firmware despite SEUS saying it's up to date.

This is true but be warned if you do an update using the repair service in PC companion you may loose apps, I did.
Also found some of them missing from the market so I reflashed to generic 016 and tried again using SEUS I download from the Sony Ericsson support website and this time I didn't loose any apps.
Where did you get your X10i? If it was Carphone Warehouse then it won't be sim locked or branded, otherwise I would imagine it's branded. I'm not sure if Orange have released the recent firmware update as my X10 was with Vodafone but is now unbranded, if you don't want to wait for Orange de-brand your phone.

well igot it from orange over the phone upgrade but i cant se any branding at all on the phone
rather not de brand
i can wait im just womdering if all orange users
The Orange var are orange locked, no intrusive branding but it has a Custom version number. If you use the Debrand method then you will no longer have the issue as it makes it a Generic UK spec but with an Orange sim lock.
(PS i work for a large UK Telecom retail company and so you can trust this info 110%)
well i understand but that would also
a, invalidate my warrantly
b, not let me update via seus
like i say i dont mind the wait but i see nearly every one get it but im wondering if orange is behind or its my phone
also i still didnt get 023
First yes de-branding would invalidate your warranty but you would still be able to update using SEUS, you'd only be exchanging the minimally branded Orange firmware for generic UK firmware.
As for Orange being slow, I wouldn't worry about it as far as I'm aware O2 users don't even have the R2BA020 update!

[Q] OTA Update issue.

I recently updated my handset, after the installation process was complete I tried connecting to WI-FI however i got an issue "unable to connect WI-FI" I need some help on how I can fix this issue.
HTC claims the reason for this issue is that the handset was made in Chez Republic, purchased in Shanghai, and now used in India. The Indian OTA update messed up a few functions in my handset. They also mentioned that flashing my handset may send cause the language to change.. someone please help me..!!
Thanks..

[Q] Vodafone Froyo problems

Hey guys,
Havn't seen this reported anywhere but I'm having problems ever since upgrading to Froyo on my vodafone branded set.
Keep getting force close in the HTC weather and other applications - Froyo seemed quick to start with, but then seems to be quite laggy after a couple of days use (theres plenty of complaints about this laggyness on the vodafone forums).
I'm just wondering - now that the OTA has been released for unbranded sets. If I unbrand my set (using a goldcard and downgrading to 1.31) - can I install the unbranded version of Froyo? i.e. get the OTA update.
Thanks in advance and sorry if this has been covered elsewhere.
Tried downgrading to 1.31 using the usual method (hack4legend-v5) but it refused to work giving the cr--rw---- error
Would really like to move to an unbranded ROM (hopefully won't get the issue with weather constantly force closing) - anyone successfully done this?

3rd time ....

Will I be lucky tomorrow when my 2nd replacement SG2 arrives. Not an unknown problem though, red/pinkish image on the screen. Been ploughing through various entries relating to this as i guess my 3rd will still be the same !
I have read the awaited 2.3.4 update will solve the problem or KE7 via Odin, although some say KE7 doesn't work.......so what to do if number 3's the same as I would really like to keep the phone ?
Anyone who has managed to get rid of this problem and can give some advise I would be most grateful.
Thanks
SR

[Q] E900 zune update to Feb2011 stops with 80004005 error

I have just bought a used E900 phone as I heard that it is running 75. or at least can be updated.
Now I have the phone here with a version 7.0.7004 on it and every thing I tried to update is bringing me a 80004005 error. I serached for hours an all possible forums including this one. There seems to be a lot of people which have this problem. Many are solving this by downgrading to the version I have on already. At least this is what I understood.
I factory (hard resetted) the phone already. I tried with the lgmobile tool to download the firmware (no connection)
Is there any hint which can help me solving this problem?
The original firmwares I found within this forum have all dead links. I am in germany and the phone s OPN already. (Was already when I purchased.)
Any tip help hint firmware guide whatever higly appreciated.
Michael
No update
Sorry to push this.
Has nobody any idea or is my question unclear?
I have bought a used E900.
Te OS is 7.0.7004.
When I connect Zune it tries to bring me the February 2011 update.
This always fails with error 80007004.
I searched the internet as well as the forum but could not find any solution on this.
Is there a workarround for this? I read that it helps to flash one of the firmware versions here in the forum but I am unsure which one to tale. The OPN versions are offline as far as I could see and I have a OPN version already.
Please any support would be helpfull.
Many thanks in advance
Michael
Same Problem here: Only "Fix" was to send it to Service. Got it back one week after with the Softwareversion I bought it with. Updated again and it worked.
