Yes it's gonna come in late Q2 or early Q3.
I'd count 2-3 months from now (June-August).
This is a reason why I finally jumped in to get X10i (for $400).
Even it doesn't have Flash Player and 3G hotspot, the phone is pretty nice (720p video recording is good).
465MB app storage is a bit steep, but hopefully 2.3 app2sd can share the load.
I found a special headset adapter for nokia phone so I can use iphone headset with X10 (but the button doesn't work at all).
On top of this...this phone works 100% with T-Zones!

Well.. couple of points.. (one's a bit picky!)..
it's DLNA (not DNLA!)
and
I believe that you can download mediasharing apps from the market which enable DLNA.. I haven't tried any of them, cos I don't have any DLNA kit.. but they are there..
Lol. That's what I get for posting from my phone.
I know there are apps in the market, that's not the point. Sony has been telling us for almost a year that we would have native support and now are dropping the update even though the phone supports it. Its like the dual touch they were to lazy to enable until we complained about it

One of the apps that I like is the 2Player music app. DLNA categorizes all the media automatically and since I have 8K songs on the network, I don't have to try to cram them onto the phone (though I do have a 32G card with 5K music files). Allows playlists, and all the auto categories. Free too.
Apparently the DLNA app from the arc dump works on the X10. I don't get why SE couldn't just port it themselves.. It would take all of 1 day to test it out

There's no business case for DLNA guys! In Arc they put HDMI becuase they realized that there are not so many devices on the market that supports DLNA!

How does it matter if its a good business case or not? They promised it, and I don't see why they should disappoint us yet again. What will they do next... perhaps there's an EOL implemented into the hardware - everything will stop working on the day the arc is released

so it looks like the dev's got there first than SE. just like my bet, so... where's my money? =)
i know im soo happyy im just gonna be reassembling my x10 after physical damage done and yet ive turned this phone to new and now wih z's rom to finish this omggg... >_< 2.3 ill wait for it till it's good till then Z here i come the only thing that' it'd let it finish of from this rom is the browser gives me shortcut when u click extra options for example it'll show up as Setting then below it is (menu + S) we dont have that option can anyone fix that up or let us know how?
I just seen his new post.....now I gotta go check it out
As far as S.E.'s update is concerned i wouldn't even want it anymore after the hardwork of Z, Wolfbreak, J', 28spawn and them all. S.E. you lost me and now i trust our xda guys for life. Im gonna try to donate soon as ive been off've work and been disabled for a year now.

in android forums it does state 2.2 is wifi teethering so i see why not..but if someone can tell me about the browser id appreciate it,
I don't understand, 2.2 ROM's are longer then today available, i have a 2.2 ROM from Wolfbreak which i like very much.
any 2.2. rom can work with the fix from Z . so if you have wolfbreak's or R's or anyne's 2.2 rom it'll work...

Does Bluetooth work perfectly on this rom?
I've tested a few 2.2 ROMS and the bluetooth always plays up - or at least with the MW600.
Does WIFI connect automatically and quickly when in range? Even with bladefix i sometimes had to manually connect the phone to wifi which was a pita (with various 2.2 roms).
Also, is there any way to get TrackID to work on 2.2? It's probably S.Es best bundled app with the X10, and unmatched by anything else on the market.
There seems to be various levels of success with WiFi & BT amongst the community. I've had no problems with WiFi but the BT acts funny with my car deck. Bad enough that I can't use wolf's Rom. Which sucks since it's so damn fast.
But it depends on the device. My BT headset works fine.
Since it's so easy to backup/restore with Xrecovery give it a try. May work perfectly for you.

Not quite true...there's been a problem with it on Wolfbreak's ROM 'cause of some minor incompatibility issues with the different framework tweaks on his ROM compared to Z's ROM. So I'm guessing it wouldn't be working without problems on EVERY ROM if the devs don't play a lil' bit with it before that (like Wolfbreak is doin' in the last few hours to set it for his)
I was reading the article that 2.3 is coming for X10 in late Q2 or early Q3 with catch only some network are going to do that

I would say if you are here then you most likely bypassed your home network's settings, and have something custom installed at this point.
Whenever I meet someone using a 1.6 version, I ask to meet them later, and at the very least update them to 2.1.
Though now I am going to be recommending Z's 2.2 rom as it is mostly complete , and it is stable.
Though I am excited as to what our devs here are going to be doing with the 2.3 kernal
Why should i change ? And to which? They only good reason to switch a phone would be a better camera, HMDI out or 3D or Games! cuz Ardeno 200 realy is lame ^^
A Dual core Phone would be nice, But i'm not sure how good its gonn be used, by 2 or 3 games... or in mutli tasking ( and 3D Foto /Video).
I'll hope my X10 will last until i can get a Quad core phone
Oh, there might be ONE other reason to get a new phone! INFRARED! Can't you imagine how comfortable it would be, to come home, start Radio with your phone, change clothes, sit on the couch, and just press one button on your phone and radio mutes, TV put to on, switch to favortie channel.
And it would work on most radios/TV's/whatever! not like Wireless remote just on some brand new machines!
I had infrared command working on my ooold P910i

I thought gingerbread uses multiple core effectively or I'm confusing it with Honycomb?
I had a remote control app that used infrared on P910 also but I rarely used it.
The thing I miss most is voice dialing which a lot better on P910 and P990 although it was using tagging but dammit worked at least(direct and with bluetooth devices), now no matter whatever say x10 it show me four number start with 9999
yeah i really miss infrared on the new phones..android and infrared would make an unbeatable duo! used ir remote on p900, 910
Can't wait to install the official 2.3, congratz to devs
the only problem is that in most cases IR built in the phones is not the same frequency in the remote of your tv.tried at least 20 phones in the past years only p910 seemed to work fine.but it would be nice though then I can dump all of my 7 remotes at home
My 003SH has infrared

No, AT&T and most of the branded X10's will not get the official update. However, all you need to do is unbrand your AT&T X10a to global generic and you will be certain to get the official 2.3.3 Gingerbread update directly from PC Companion or SEUS when available.
If you haven't already unbranded to global generic and updated to 2.1, here's a step by step guide....

So I was wondering, The x10 is flash compatible.. runs smoothly - even on High quality. Why does it get filtered from the Market? Is this just me? or is it physically Sony Ericsson just trying to prevent it from being installed?
After hearing about the GB2.3.3 update I plugged in my phone for an update and just rushed through it not reading that it was 2.1 and installed it, now I want to use Flash cause I don't see the point in sorting out a ROM/root even with the backup if It's just going to be updated again in an Apparent up coming days.. I will admit I am quite curious on the SE GB update But want to install flash on here in the mean time.. ;/
TL: DR
I bought x10 after x8, rooted asap.. installed custom rom.. searched market for flash. Installed it, flash content available. "Updated"/Installed stock using PCC searching android market for "Adobe Flash Player" Yields no results.. Why? ¬_¬
what rom did you install because Adobe Flash is only for 2.2+
thats probz why you cant find it on the market
Wow.. I knew this as well. I feel stupid -.-'
For some reason I thought I was on 2.2 because the "next" step is 2.3.. but Ah well, I blame Sony Ericsson? xD
haha i think all are making us wait for our beloved gingerbread, i can hear my X10 crying because its so hungry poor little guy
Argh! I know right According to thread here on XDA I should be getting it on Friday... Damn having to wait :/
Also, why would the "HDR" camera (Free APP) Be not available for S/E? When I was on a custom ROM I installed the APP but it said it couldn't access certain features needed, I assumed this was because of the Custom ROM?

Well since binary upped the Nordic lt18 rom,I have been in two minds if to use or not, from what posts I have read there seems to be more negatives than positives.
Was the great ics update that big a deal or will the lt15 be better got us arc users.
The more posts I see the more hesitant I have become. At least there is away to root which is good for those with locked bootloader. Which was always a worry
To sum up I think I will wait for sony to release ics via seus or PC companion.
waiting is no hard thing when your phone is all modded up and running with no lag, games respond, wifi works as well as bluethooth.

IMHO I think that if you have a LT15i probably better to wait about a week or so and flash a custom ICS rom like Acronium ICS , JJ ICS or KA ones.
They are lighter and more optimized than stock for LT18i but still have some bugs at the moment.
Seems like LT15i users who flashed the LT18i stock ICS are experiencing mixed results depending on what apps they have.
adielee,
I haven't experienced any problem being an LT15i user with any of the ICS custom roms. Maybe I'm just fortunate. I'm running multitude of application from Go SMS Pro, Touchpal, MIUI Music 2.3.9, QuickPic, PicsArt, Facebook, Google+, Gmail, K9, Box, SD Maid, Titanium Backup Pro and what not.
Might just be a bad flash for some.
After few days with ICS on my Arc, I have a feeling that GB is good enough for Arc. I never felt Arc was laggy with GB but with ICS, it shows when launching dialer.
Some advantages I noticed with ICS
1. Dialer now has smart dialing
2. You can reject call with SMS which I used to use a lot when I had WinMo 6.5
3. If you assign high resolution images to google contacts on phone, they get saved unlike on GB where you need to save a phone contact.
4. Gmail looks little better.
Besides those, it hardly matters if it's GB or ICS. With GB arc is much much smoother. I plan to go back to GB after a week more of trying out ICS to see if there are any more advantages with ICS on Arc.
Hey!
I noticed the exact same thing until I decided to get them fixed... I'm running a custom launcher "APEX" works like a charm and it's smooth hardly any memory usage. You may also want to reduce the number of background process decreased it to 2 and makes a world of difference.
Dialer situation noticed that the stock dialer took average 5 to 10 seconds in delay. I got it replaced with a different dialer and reduced the delay to a mere 1second now.
You can't really compared ICS and GB... that would be like comparing Oranges and Apples... You should also experiment with the different roms / kernel combo. You might find something better suits your needs.
If you take a look at my signature that what I'm currently on this week. Preparing to try something else at the end of the week.
Cheers.

I agree with the first three points. I'm going this weekend back to GB. I think android 4.0 is to heavy for the arc s. And personally I don't believe those who said the update is smooth like butter.
I have tried some roms but OR hdmi isn't working or something else isn't working.
So NO, I personally don't think ICS is worth it for our phones.
It still seems as if most who update to ics who have arc are not 100% happy.
some are going back to gb after a week, think the promise/thought of ics got the forum in a real frenzy
...but now there seems to be doubts if it really is the next best thing.
sent from something,somewhere,sometime ago
It's not the next best thing it's a ploy to keep Sony users happy. Phones are either going to run well with ics or they aren't people have a good idea about weather ics will run well or not and in this case it doesn't. It was only meant to have gingerbread that's just the way it is.flash custom Rom for ics it's the only way of getting it right.
