My primary issue is it constantly buffering over 4g but streaming just fine over 3g. Seems like it would be the other way around but I have noticed in the past that the phone itself can slow down when 4g is active.

Phone shows 3-4 bars of 3G and I get nothing but errors like , Page unavailable...this app needs data connection....etc. Sometimes if I disable mobile network and re-enable it it will work for a few minutes but then gone. Am I the only one ? I searched briefly . Nothing informative . Help please .
Call att and tell them to connect you to the specialist, i had the same problem and i was literally on the phone with him for 10 seconds and he fixed it

Sometimes it does similar to me. It will sit there and go from 3g to edge to 3g to edge. I've taken to just using 2g when I have wifi, then 3g when I want mobile data. Although now that I had the phone for a while, I kind of know where 3g is strong.

..anyone having issues with their 3g network streaming Pandora or Youtube? Wifi is not a problem but in 3g the streaming seems not to work.
I will be in an area with 4g later will test it then.

I am also having the same issue. Hopefully someone will post a fix.

Have you done the 3G fix posted in the development forum? Some have reported that after they did that streaming apps like sirius have started working.

So, I don't know if it is being rooted or the Rom or an issue with Sprint. I don't remember having this issue when my phone was stock. After rooting it, I had applied the 3g mod for a different issue, just to see if the downloading speed will increase or not. Recently I went back and reset the HTTP PD and RTSP to stock and now that I think about it my streaming problems begun then.
I just changed the values to 0 and 0.0.0.0 and problem solved.
There must be something going on with Sprint network. In the Pandora app comment section anyone with a sprint phone is complaining about how the app has stopped working.

Is any one having issue with Pandora app? It takes some times about 3 minutes to load the station. I am on the latest version, now. Its ridiculously slow.
Mine is working fine. Did you just install an update? Try restarting your phone.
Or it could be the caps...
Nope its been like this after the upgrade to a new version. What do you mean caps???
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA Premium App
They're asking if you hit your data cap to where they throttle your speed down. I can say that if I'm in an Edge area that it takes forever for it to load but very quick in a 4G area.
I think it might have been it. I was almost at 3GB at the end of my billing. Now a new started and everything loads fast.

what are you referring to. Might it be your cell signal, if it is I too have been having more issues with sprints coverage in past month
I'm talking about wen the bars get green
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using XDA App
Well I do have bars they are all gray almost all the time. And when they green it's when Google go's in and it's faster

Too much to ask for you to post in one of the other two threads on this subject?

may I ask if your wifi policy is set to "when screen off" might be getting the hand off between cell radio and wifi when reconnecting the mothership
How you check that
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using XDA App
I'm experiencing the same thing. For the past month or so, my signal bars go from Green to Gray and as a result I lose any connection to Google's services. Such as Gmail, Gtalk, Gvoice etc. Every time I see this, I have to login to Gtalk and the bars go green again. But this fix only lasts from a few minutes to a few hours if I'm lucky. I've been on the Google forum reading about this issue since April on T-Mobile and other carriers, and now since a month ago on Sprint.
Yes that's the problem that I have
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using XDA App
same here! t-mobile germany...
I had that problem with my HTC Desire. The problem only appears when there's very little space left in RAM or internal memory...
No this sounds like Google having server issues. I'm seeing the same on my phone.
Sent from my Nexus S 4G
Do you see this happening with 3G, or wifi as well?
See it more on 3g. You thing it can be the gaaps cuz I get it back every time I go to gtalk

Edit: Turning off HD makes the videos worm, but my wifi is definitely capable of streaming 720/1080p. Could it possibly be due to the fact that videos aren't in 720? Hmm..
So when using the YouTube app videos don't load. The 'Play' icon shows up, but pressing it makes the video buffer, then it shows again. Playing YouTube on my other phones works fine, so it isn't a server issue. What's up?

I've seen mention of this with the N4 and certain carriers (on data). Is this on data only, or wifi as well?

Data is fine, it's my wifi that's the problem.

I get the same problem. I have WiFi on and I try watching YouTube videos and that **** always stops to load. I don't ever remember it being this bad. I has to stop to load like 3 or 4 times in every video. I always end up turning off HD which helps but dam man. I want that HD

I have had this for ages now - All youtube videos buffer every 4 seconds or so. The temporary fix is:
1) Force stop youtube
2) Clear data and clear cache
3) Press and hold power button for 10 seconds
4) Turn phone on, reset time/date (step 3 resets date/time)
Youtube then works for a couple of days.....
I have also tried turning off 'optimize wifi for battery life' and removing youtube updates. Neither seem to affect the problem.
Uninstall YouTube and then re-install. Ta daaaaaa.
Oh my!! Thanks guys! Finally HD. I did both of your steps and it now works in HD without constant buffering. However, I had been wondering if it was a problem with general WiFi speeds. As sometimes doing aspeedtest I would get 3mbps when I have a 12 Mbps connection.

Glad it helped.
But - it would be nice to get rid of this bug once and for all ? Are google even aware of it ? Is there a publicly available bug tracker or something we can all see ?
