www . bartoloilliano . com / samsung-galaxy-mini-i5800-installare-android-froyo-2-2 . html
software the first time with succesfully, and
it's same that I use now.

I think you should reflash with Eclair rom first, and then the Froyo rom later. If it does not work try another rom

Thank you dkido, I've think this, but I'm not think that this is the problem.
I'll try your solution.
You know some web site where I can Download Android Eclair 2.1 ?

There is no Galaxy mini GT-I5800.
It's either Galaxy 3(or apollo) GT-I5800 or Galaxy mini S5570.

Have you tried to flash XWJPF? It's a very good rom. And more recent.
Here you can find many stock roms without bootloader.

yeah, I have no idea about mini GT-I5800 version!!
I suggest you to use the Kyrillos' ROM v5.0 RC this rom is amazing. You could try these step to flash the rom
+ Flash I5800XXJK1 or I5801DXJG5 Eclair Rom first (I think other Eclair version works fine). If you care about the logo just remove Logo.png, boot.bin, sbl.bin (Total commander or 7z)
+ Make sure your phone will work as normal after flash done and booted. backup your IMEI if you want
+ If you don't want to use Kyrillos' ROM. Just continues flash to next Froyo that you want. Note: You could do wipe cache before flash to Froyo but notice, if the rom is not support wipe cache, your phone will stuck in boot screen and you need to repeat All reflash once again and do not try wipe cache again.
+ Kyrillos' ROM: Backup your SD Card before flash
Flash with the Rom, when finish you will be in Recovery Mode like this

+ This step will partition your SD card, and its data will completely clean. But it is a must if you don't want to manual partition your sd card.
Go to Advanced>Partition SD Card and you will know what to do, the first partition is ext3 and the seconds is swap-partition (1000M/256M is fine?).
+ All the left thing is wipe cache, clear, format everything. Finally, return to main menu and reboot .
+ Ready for wait , about 2 minutes to hear the boot sound and you will see the bootanimation, and more about 10+ minutes your phone will completely boot.
Congratulation and welcome to the new Android world
P/S: Another ways if you fail in second try
+ Flash I5800XXJK1 > I5800XWJPF > Kyrillos' ROM
+ or I5801DXJG5 > I5801DDJP2 > Kyrillos' ROM

Usually it takes no more than 5min.
Try to wipe cache from recovery menu VolUp+VolDown+CenterButton+power.
Then try again. I once wanted to do factory reset but I had to press twice the center button.

All software that I was try, have the same problem. Access to the EEPROM phone,
(the errors (Can't mount DBDATA) and (Delete files, please wait "locked indefine time"))
,
and the Android System Recovery is include inside the firmware package.
(because the combo keys not work)
While I try, to reflash my device, someone know if exist other tools for diagnostic and
manage for this phone? I think that they exist, I can format manual mode the EEPROM,
make a new aprtition FAT or somethink in to the device.

MAJOR CRASH - Unable to restore via ODIN

This morning my phone crashed while I was trying to run gReader. Upon reboot, the phone would just hang at a black screen after the initial SGS Logo.
I decided to recover and put the device into download mode, launched ODIN and tried to flash JP3, JM5 and JG8, all to no avail. At the reboot after ODIN is complete I get the Samsung recovery utilities and then an error message as follows:
Update media please wait ...
E:Can't Mount /dev/blk/mmcblk0p1 (invalid argument)
E:copy_dbdata_media: Can't mount SDCARD:
copy default media content failed
Trying to format the internal SDCARD from Recovery Utils gives the same error
I am stuck! Any ideas?
that's beyond me.
you got into download mode, that's good
but when flashing you get that error, that's not good
did you use the 1 click lag fix?
never mind i see your siggy you were on Modaco rom... hmm...
try Odin-ing a stock ROM, and see if that fixes your phone?
then Odin back whatever is your custom ROM
You are further through the flash process than I was when I ran into problems, plus have a Vibrant over a European Galaxy S - but I'd still try a 'blank' flash with Odin. Enter download mode, connect up and let Odin run without any files linked in. This got me back into the phone and then allowed for a proper new fw flash thereafter.
No matter what I did I could not get the internal SDCARD recognized. A trip to the Bell store and a DOA swap and now I have a new device.
Any update on how to fix this?

1) Install Bootstrap Recovery Droid2
2) Boot into recovery
3) OPTIONALLY: create a backup of your data
4) Choose Install zip from sdcard -> Choose zip from sdcard and select downloaded ZIP file.
5) OPTIONALLY: install Google Apps the same way

I can not run the recovery menu. I can only enter the bootloader version is 70.13.

From the bootloader you can flash the original firmware again and get your phone back to life.
Get your firmware from here: http://sbf.droid-developers.org/umts_milestone2/list.php
Keep in mind that you need to have a fully charged battery before flashing, and you can only flash a firmware that is the same version or newer that the original in the phone (newer is always better)

Same problem for me: would appreciate help
Hello !
It seems like I am having the same problem as lukasz0318, but I don't know how to solve it, even based on what has been said before. That's why I am posting here.
To summarize it : I am not able to boot into Recovery Mode anymore on my Milestone 2, so my phone is soft-bricked. I am able to boot into Bootloader Mode.
I already posted my problem on the Android StackExchange (android.stackexchange.com/questions/27553/how-do-i-enter-recovery-mode-on-my-motorola-droid-2-global-to-unbrick-it), but as I have had no answer there in 8 days, I suppose XDA-Developers will be a more appropriate forum. Anyway, let me recap the problem. Hold on, since it is quite an explanation. You may jump to the last paragraph.
I own a Motorola Droid 2 Global, also called Milestone 2. It used to have Android 2.3 with Motoblur middleware. I don't know what firmware version it had, but it was updated earlier this year by the manufacturer. I bought my phone in France independently from any phone carrier (so it was not bought from Verizon for instance). I rooted it, installed ROM Manager, Droid 2 Global Recovery Bootstrap and ClockworkMode Recovery. From ROM Manager, I could successfully reboot my phone into Recovery mode, allowing me to back-up my data for instance. Until this stage everything went fine.
What lead to my problem : I also wiped the cache and installed CyanogenMod 7.2 and the Google apps from ZIP files and from the Recovery Mode interface. But now my phone is broken. When it now boots, it shows the stylised M logo, but then switches to an entire black screen. The phone is still on so I have to pull the battery to shut it down.
I would like to reboot into Recovery Mode but this doesn't work : I am never able to see the Recovery Mode logo (a warning sign with a little android). How should I do it ?
What I have tried : I tried to boot while holding the Power and the 'X' button, as adviced on different forums. This still leads to the black screen. At this state, pressing the Search hardware button does nothing. Holding the Power and the Volume Up button has no more effect. I am able to enter Bootloader Mode by holding Power and Up Arrow. Procedure suggested by Verizon
I also tried to use a Slitaz live CD with ezSBF on it, that I*downloaded from www droidforums net/forum/droid-2-global-hacks/170060-tool-ezsbf-d2g.html#post1726853. But I get errors in the process and then my phone reboots in Bootloader mode and shows the following error:
Code:
Critical Error:
FEBE 0047
After that I still cannot get to Recovery Mode.
I also took a look at Caesarivs' link (sbf.droid-developers.org/umts_milestone2/list.php) but I don't know which SBF to pick and I don't understand lukasz0318's answer to it. Which is a pity since the link was successful to him.
Could you please give me some details on the procedure to follow ? Additionaly, could you post me a link to your favorite and up-to-date tutorial on how to restore the Recovery Mode ?
Thank you very much !
1) A Milestone 2 is not the same as the D2G. If you bought your phone in france, its a Milestone 2.
2) You flashed the ZIPs on moto's recovery, not ClockworkMod recovery.
Try this:
1) Flash this SBF: http://sbf.droid-developers.org/umt...MILE2GBRTFR_P012_A006_HWp2a_Service1FF.sbf.gz You can flash it with RSDLite on windows or sbf_flash in linux.
2) Root it with Doomlord's one click root.
3) Download droid2bootstrap (NOT the global one) bootstrap recovery, and flash bootmenu (attached to this post)
4)Reboot once normally, reboot again, and press the volume down key when the LED flashes blue.
5) Flash CM7.2, the google apps, wipe data/factory reset.
6) Fix baseband (if you have problems with 3G or signal) with Milestone2 Baseband switcher v2: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=29580375&postcount=696
Hope it helps you :good:

Thank you very much, Lean946. I didn't know there was a difference between Milestone 2 and Droid 2 Global. My mistake.
As I use Ubuntu 12.04, I tried to use sbf_flash but this brought up an error:

My phone now shows the Bootloader Mode with
Code:
SW Update
In progress…
It has been so for several minutes. I'll wait a little longer and if there is positive evolution I will edit my post.
Anyway, is this the expected behavior*?
I'd try waiting a few more minutes, if sbf_flash is still frozen, try unplugging and pulling the battery out and trying again, if it still won't work i'd take it to a windows pc, I never had any issues flashing with RSD, and I tried Milestones, Milestone 2s and Defy's.
Good luck.

Thank you very much ! I found a Microsoft Windows machine, found a download of RSD Lite (which was not very easy) and finally installed the SBF you pointed at. It worked very well to unbrick my phone ! It is now back to Motorola's ROM.
I will now try your following points in order to install CyanogenMod. Whether everything works fine or not, I will post an update.

Try this:
1) Flash the right SBF. You can flash it with RSDLite on windows or sbf_flash in linux.
6) Fix baseband (if you have problems with 3G or signal) with Milestone2 Baseband switcher v2
Hope it helps you :good:

I think I did exactly what was indicated here: step 1 to successfully unbrick the phone, then step 2 to 4.
Step 4 lead me to an interface called "Android Bootmenu" (different from the Bootloader Mode). From there I could not flash any ZIP, but I could launch the Custom Recovery. In my case, ClockworkMod Recovery. From there I wiped data/factory reset, then I flashed CM7.2 and the Google Apps, and rebooted.
But now my phone doesn't boot properly anymore. The stylized M logo keeps appearing and disappearing. As the LED regularly becomes blue, I can enter the Android Bootmenu, and then the two Recoveries (ClockworkMod Recovery and Android Stock Recovery).
What should I do now to finish the install of CM7.2 ?
Might the reason be that I installed the wrong ROM (or the wrong Gapps) ?
I tried the following ROMS :
cm-7.2.0-droid2we.zip from get.cm/?device=droid2we&type=stable
cm-7.2.0-umts_sholes.zip from github.com/nadlabak/android/downloads
The first one gave me no error output during its installation in ClockworkMod Recovery.
The second one gave me an error :
Code:
E:Error in /sdcard/update.zip - (Status 7)
.
Do you have any suggestion or a link to your favorite tutorial ?
Finally, the following ROM did work, with the same procedure as I used to do :
CM9-NIGHTLY-120815-milestone2-eu.zip from forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1623385
I ran into another final small problem (I could not close the Setup Wizard), but that was easily solved with the "Four corners method".
Thank you for your help and wish me good luck on my new operating system !

Hi .
Just install stock recovery again to get the tab in download mode again .
Stock recovery can be found in the stock firmware files , mostly in the ( AP , Code ) file .
Just try to extract file using " 7z '' . There you will find the stock recovery .
Put it in the AP or Code field and flash it using Odin . While the tab in the dead screen.
Regards

I used Heimdall ; it has a command to close the phone-to-pc screen (in linux terminal > heimdall "close-pc-to-phone-screen" ; heimdall -help to get exact command).
Is this support Odin new versions?
Anybody try this with Odin new version like 3.12.10 or 3.13.1

note4: SM-N910F Flashing gone wrong

Hey
So I have a note4: SM-N910F from a french Carrier, I was on the ANJ4 firmware, my phone is unlocked. I decided to flash it to make it work on my US GearVR following the advice of some redditors who after my many concerns have assured me it was low risk. I downloaded the ANK4 from another carrier and tried to flash it with Odin.
It failed and gave me the following error
"Volume size is too big 81920 < 512000
ODIN : Invalid Ext4 image"
The guy who's help I was following told me to clear cache and even gave me an explanation on how to do it. So I figured I'd just revert to my original firmware, which I have by flashing it back
EXCEPT! and here is the problem. Now my phone says 'Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery in Kies & try again.' - and I can't connect it to the computer! connecting doesn't work. It does DETECT IT when I plug it in, but then goes 'starting connection' till it says it didn't work. I tried other USB ports, I tried to reboot, I tried to reinstall USB drivers through Kies. I'm starting to be at a loss.
so I can't do anything in my phone and I can't connect it to a computer.
halp
(also I would love to avoid the obvious don't trust the internet people rhetoric, I'm past that and I knew the risks )
There is a reddit thread here: red dit.com/r/GearVR/comments/2poelk/to_flash_or_not_to_flash_that_is_the_question_to/cmyl01d
I put a spacebar between the 2 D of reddit because I can't put links in as a new user
EDIT IN THE PROCESS OF FIXING IT SUCCESSFULLY - can't find delete thread button
Better tell us how you solved then.
Sent from my SM-N910F using XDA Free mobile app
odin failed
Sur.
I am interested by the solution because i have the same issue while flashing carrier firmwares (orange ...) in odin (volume size too big 122000<512000)
invalid ext4 image.
It is ok for flashing country firmwares (xef, dbt ...).
Thank's for answering.
I was also having the same problem.
Here is how you solve it.
1. Download the stock firmware ending with .tar.md5.
2. rename it so it ends with .tar
3. Extract it using winrar to get recovery.img file
4. Download this tool (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2446269)
5. extract it also, and move the recovery.img file from step 3 and put it in the newly extract folder from step 4.
6. Click the ImgToTar.MD5.bat file and sit back.
7. You will now see a new file in there named "recovery.tar.md5"
8. flash this file with odin and your done!
Done above and flashed just the file recovery .tar. md5
All I get now is the Samsung logo... left the phone hanging like this for 30 minutes thinking it would boot up to beginning of phone..
Am I missing something?
Any help would be appreciated
Regards Braggster

STOCK & CUSTOM Recovery
STOCK Recovery
Android devices come with Google’s recovery environment, which is often referred to as the “stock recovery.” You can boot to the recovery system by pressing device-specific buttons as your phone or tablet boots or by issuing an adb command that boots your device to recovery mode. The recovery menu provides options to help recover your device — for example, you can reset your device to its factory default state from here. The recovery mode can also be used to flash OTA update files. if you want to flash a new ROM to your device — or re-flash the factory default ROM file — you’ll need to boot to recovery mode first. The stock recovery is a minimal, limited system. It’s designed to be ignored, and it can generally only flash OTA updates and ROMs provided by the device’s manufacturer, not third-party ROMs.
CUSTOM Recovery
A custom recovery environment will do the same things as the stock Android recovery. However, it will also have additional features. Custom recoveries often have the ability to create and restore device backups. Custom recoveries allow you to install custom ROMs.

F2FS (Flash-Friendly File System) is a flash file system created by Kim Jaegeuk (Hangul: 김재극) at Samsung for the Linux operating system kernel.
The motive for F2FS was to build a file system that from the start takes into account the characteristics of NAND flash memory-based storage devices (such as solid-state disks, eMMC, and SD cards), which are widely used in computer systems ranging from mobile devices to servers.
Samsung chose a log-structured file system approach, which it adapted to newer forms of storage. F2FS also remedies some known issues of the older log structured file systems, such as the snowball effect of wandering trees and high cleaning overhead. Because a NAND-based storage device shows different characteristics according to its internal geometry or flash memory management scheme (such as the Flash Translation Layer or FTL), Samsung also added various parameters not only for configuring on-disk layout, but also for selecting allocation and cleaning algorithms.

Thanks for the excellent starter guide. It will help beginners alot. Do you have a PIT file for GT-I9195 4.4.2 that i can use to repair my phone? I have looked everywhere and cant find one. I just thought i would ask here because of nature of the thread and i am sure other people are also looking for a link to a PIT file. Thanks in advance
