nook boot to black screen - Nook Color Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

After flashing the new u-boot to 1.2, I now have the words "Read Forever" when I boot my Nook. However, it will then boot to a blank screen. I will need to press the power button once and press it again to see the main android screen.
I'm on Phieremod 6.2. Anyone know what is the problem here? Thanks!

I have the same issue any help?????????

I have Magic unlocked from Amazon. There was installed 1.5 platform. Also it has B class boot.
what happens if you dont press home and power.. will it normally boot up???
also you get the triangle because you have not yet installed any recovery image so that you can flash your device with any roms....

rebooting loop help! (upgrading)

Im trying to flash a new ROM but cannot seem to enter recovery mode:
I had revolver 3.6 and wanted to upgrade to the latest, so I held down power and selected recovery, now its in some type of rebooting cycle where it tries to boot up with the "Eee Pad" in the center and the "ASUS/NVidia" at the bottom, this stays on for about 3 secs then it appears to power off and the cycle starts again.
Holding down just the power button seems to do nothing, but if I hold power+volUP for a few seconds it seems to make it power off for good. From this powered down state, pwr or pwr+volUP does nothing. From this powered down state pwr+volDown brings up the boot screen + the small white letters in the upper right saying to hit volUp within 5 secs to enter RCK but if you do this then you get the reboot loop all over. If you let it sit there Itll allow you to either coldboot or eraseuserdata+cold boot. This allows the tablet to boot up normally.
But I just can never seem to boot to recovery. I have revolver parts and the reboot2recovery and the recoveryinstaller.apk all installed. What am I missing?
What about cwm? Sounds like you still on stock recovery.
How did you root? And how did you flash recovery? Were you ever able to get into recovery?
My gut tells me your recovery isn't compatible with your bootloader and/or boot.img.
Thanks for the help. I don't think i loaded cwwm when i originnally rooted. I reded rooting and it put cwm5 on.

[Q] dual boot without removing sd?

Hello. I've searched and googled and still can not find an answer. So I ask. Can you boot both CM7 and stock BN software without taking out the sd card? We bought our two oldest (11 and 10 yrs old) NCs for christmas and we don't really want them removing the cards just to use the stock NC. We don't want them to lose the cards. They both read a lot. But we want them to have the full android experience. I already have the latest build of CM7 on two 8gig class 2 Sandisks.
I am not an expert and haven't played with dual-boot option but AFAIK, by default, it will boot into the uSD FIRST. If you want it to boot in eMMC, you can (or must) press and hold the "N" button during the power up, then select boot Normal.
So, i.e. if you have CM7 on usD and Stock in eMMC, by default, w/o interacting, CM7 will be booted.
If you want to boot the Stock, you have to press the N button then select it.

Click to collapse
To clarify this correct answer, when you see the screen flash when booting, hold down the "n" key. You'll see the CM banner and under it there will be something like "boot menu" display. You can quit pressing "n" at this point. It will then continue to a boot menu display (all the directions are on that page). Press the "n" key to select "emmc", then press the down volume key to select the next item ( it should be "normal" so just leave it there). Push the down volume key again, press "n" and it will boot into the stock ROM. The next time you boot, it will still boot to the SD card unless you repeat the process.
Thank you both for the quick reply. It was very helpful.

Big problem help!

I have a VERIZON G2 and had rooted and installed TWRP on it. I decided to install the OTA update but when I did, something went badly wrong.
Now whenever I try to power on the phone, there is script in the top-left-hand corner (on the LG logo screen; says something like "boot" with bunch of horizontal lines, not sure) then goes to a black screen w/ the backlight still on.
However, I can still get to the factory reset page by holding down the power and volume down button, but when I push the power button three times, the script in the corner appears then goes to the backlit black screen.
Did I brick my phone? HELP PLEASE!
Also, I cannot get to TWRP or anything besides the LG boot screen and the factory reset page
bump?
you can try the solution proposed in here

I think I bricked my ZTE Blade C2 v809

Please help me. I am in a sort of panic right now.
I have a ZTE Blade C2 v809, sold here in Portugal as Meo Smart A12. It was rooted and working fine. I was however getting some error 24's trying to install apps. I thought this might have had to do with using Titanium Backup to remove TouchPal (I did make a backup first), so I decided to restore TouchPal. There were however some errors in the restore and it was stuck there, so I decided to reboot the phone.
Chaos. Now it wont boot. If I press the button normally, the phone boots, I see the android logo, the screen goes black (Not shutdown black, a sort of light black background) and nothing happens. If I try to boot into Recovery mode by holding the power button and the volume down key, I just get the android logo stuck there, nothing happens. If I hold the power button and the volume up key, I get the picture of that laying down android with the message error.
Any more info I must provide please tell me, I am desperate for a solution, If I lose this phone I wont be able to get another one.
Okay I fixed it. Turns out the recovery menu DID work if I waited for a long time and tapped the screen. Used the update.zip available from the site, and it works like a charm
Yay, I bricked my phone, too.
I did something similar, changed recovery-from-boot.p name to recovery-from-boot.p-bak and install-recovery.sh to install-recovery.sh-bak
Now the phone doesn't boot properly, in fact it's stuck in a boot loop:
>starts
>shows white ZTE logo on screen
>restarts
Tried connecting the phone via USB cable and used fastboot devices & adb devices commands, no devices found.
Also tried pressing "power + vol down" and "power + vol up", nothing. I can't enter recovery mode or bootloader.
Apparently the remaining way to get in it's trough the SD slot, or maybe there's another way.
I kindly ask for help, couldn't be possible that I ruined this cell phone so fast.
Ideas, somebody?
