Just downloaded the file onto my external then used the myfiles to open and install. Works like a charm.
Define "works." Works as in you're able to sign-in to your Netflix account, purchase movies, and then watch them? Netflix has always worked on various phones but no one using an APK version has ever been able to connect to the Netflix servers and actually do anything. It'll be great if it does in fact work on the SGS2.

Stream all netflix content just like on iphone and WP7.
I have been waiting for this for years.
Works like a charm...loving my GS2 more and more each day!
Confirmed working.
Well, holy crap. I'm guessing whatever bizarre DRM requirements Netflix is demanding are built in to the SGS2 already in preparation for inclusion of Netflix on carrier-branded phones. More bragging rights
Works for me as well!
Here's a quick video I did of the Netflix app working on the SGS II.

Hi,
Yep, that's me. Still run misticriver.net although as you can imagine, there is no market for iriver now and PMP's are a thing of the past. Loving the SGS II. Also managed to snag a Galaxy Tab 10.1 from Google I/O so looking forward to playing with that a bit.

I did the same, thanks for the tip OP, I was planning on canceling my netflix this month because I couldn't watch it on my phone

btw, not being able to use 4G to watch Sprint TV kinda sucks. assuming it would make a difference.
Get an OTA (over the air) tuner for your pc and stream it to your device for free using ORB.
Sports can look bad on $1000 televisions when paired with $100/mo TV service...what do you expect with a freakin' phone? haha.
atdhe.net serves me well from time to time. Or you can look into something like myp2pforum and use streamtorrent.

To elaborate, Hulu blocks all Android phones and GoogleTVs due to a disagreement about licensing, I believe. There is a workaround in the Nexus One forums in order to bypass this lock, but because Hulu isn't optimized for viewing on a Flash-enabled mobile device it's quality can leave something to be desired. At least for me, anyway.
As far as streaming content from Netflix goes, there isn't an app for that just yet as far as I'm aware, which is strange considering WP7 phones launched with one for them. There are apps to manage your queue, but that's pretty much it.

I never found a need to use Hulu/Netflix on my N1 but wasnt the work around just a modified flash.apk file.
Maybe something has changed but thats what I remember, changing the browser user agent used to work, but i doubt thats the case now

I think it was a combination of the modified Flash.apk and the browser UA... but like you, I never really used it. I tried Hulu once, was getting terrible FPS(was like watching a slideshow), and never went back. Now that we have a much nicer GPU on the Nexus S, it might be a little more bearable buuut... meh.

Don't say that... I still have the "iPod" (iPhone) in my drawer... lol. The point is to have one device... Its pointless to have 2 or 3 sperate devices on your person. I already have a 4g clearspot that works great... had to get it with my NS (on at&t) well hopefully they'll release something soon with Netflix integration. Android has been around for a while now I can't believe there's nothing for this

Here seems to be the answer regarding Netflix on Android: http://blog.netflix.com/2010/11/netflix-on-android.html
Interesting read, but it's the usual Hollywood concern about possible pirating.
You have to get the modified flash .apk and the change the UA string to desktopto run it. You can find the file in the N1 forums. I had it working on 2.3 for a while but after I updated to 2.3.1 it wouldn't install correctly. Honestly, the video quality isn't that good. The only way to get a decent amount of fps is to use the igoogle app from the desktop version of the page. And sites like megashare work just fine with no hack and have much higher fps.

We tried that with my GF's iPod touch and honestly, it sucked! It was really slow and it kept buffering a lot.
I have literally over 500$ worth of videos on iTunes. I am trying to find a way to be able to play them back on the Xoom. Seems DoubleTwist won't copy over DRM files. Is there any program for free/purchase that can do this? I don't want to have to buy a iPod Touch just to watch iTunes on the go.
The only way to do it would be to remove the DRM...which for itunes videos I believe can only be done using a special program on a Mac...
Apple looses again.
Never buy DRM. Apple has successfully locked you in to always using apple software just because you paid so much for content.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA Premium App
You just need to search around on the net, there are some programs that can do it with a PC. You can either purchase some, or there is one free one called requiem that you can use, but it only works on specific versions of itunes. Its a java based program and can strip the drm off a 2 hour movie in about 10 mintues.
I'm honestly surprised you didn't go for an iPad first. It just seems like you are someone that would have...
I've just swapped from an ipad to the xoom & transferred my music videos straight from the iTunes library on my PC to the video folder of the xoom & they all play straight away. I tried to copy a movie over but couldn't get that to play though. Don't know if it makes any difference but are they stored in the correct folder?

The only "purchased" content that I have in my iTunes library are digital copies of blurays that I own anyway. I d/l my music from MP3VA ($.15 per song) or rip them from my CDs since I would NEVER EVER pay $.99 for one song or $9.99 for a digital video file.

you can use requiem for removing the DRM. It's worked great for me every time. There is a (TOR) onion link to get it if you google for it.
Has anyone heard when the GT10.1 might be getting Netflix? Or Google Movies?
I love this tablet, but I don't like the lack of optimized tablet apps and the missing Netflix. I'm debating whether to hold onto this tablet and wait because I really do love the look and feel of the tablet and of Honeycomb or if I want to return it for an iPad 2 and come back to an Android tablet in a couple months (or a year) when there are more apps. So...that's why I'm curious about Netflix.

Just read the same post... YES!!! Finally! ...the earlier apk for rooted TF101s with patch was awesome for sure, but it's great we're finally getting some official love (and support).
Yes, I also own a Xoom running 3.2 and you can sideload the Netflix app on it and it works fine. I am waiting for it to show up in the Market though so I can get the automatic Netflix updates as opposed to the sideloaded version that you must manually update. Hopefully, the TF will get this working in 3.2... Keeping my fingers crossed...

That requires root and the installation of a patch. I have no time for such things (including messing around with unrooting when then next TF update comes), and so having an official Netflix app will be most welcome.
http://eee.asus.com/en/eeepad/transformer/specification
Theyre claiming Netflix(us only) on their site, so possibly after 3.2
Keeping my fingers crossed. I've held out on rooting this far. Love my transformer and honestly can live without netflix on it, but it would surely be a plus to have it added.

For me it adds an extra component to the transformer that other tablets already have. At this point android is playing catchup to Ipad. (well..everyone is)
They all are, but android has a good chance to get there, but they need to add what competitors offer and then add their own extra spice.
Personally, i have netflix enabled in all my tvs at home, but would love to have it on my TF for road trips. If i stay on a hotel, tether off the phone in the car..it just adds more thrills to an already good device.
