Was there any reason to make another topic about this? There are already so many.
Although I agree with you, someone should check out Trip's ROM and see what can be used from it. I don't care if it might not be 'right', it will greatly help the progress of the X10 so why NOT do it? Also, it's not stealing if it's free and open source, and especially if the Dev has abandoned it and does not care about it anymore

Nope, he's gone for good this time.
If you always call "all in" someone will eventually call your bluff.
For the people that he was their "first" (you never forget your first) they will hopefully look around a bit and realise there is alot of other ROMs that are just as good, if not way better then his iphone knockoff.
Hopefully these people are just as happy with their "new" phone.
Hopefully when I wake up tomorrow there are no more "we love Trip" or "please come back to me" threads. Although they are good for a laugh

This thread isn't about him. It's about asking for a dev to complete his ROM.
All Im saying is that hopefully the people that used his ROM realise that there are other MIUI ROMs that are just as good.
And I don't think he'll be back because the way he went out... I read some messed up posts directed to the other devs and also the mods.

well you may have not used his latest froyo an gingerbread roms.
they are super roms and i think SE should use them or their next update as they are so good.
Gingerbread rom is fast and very stable, u can even use its camera with illusion.
it has no wlod problems, no random restarts and no FC. it has the best battery life. all i wanted extra from this rom was 100% working camera.
All other gingerbread roms out for x10, cameras dont work, battery life poor, plenty of fc, plenty of wlod and so many more.
trip if you are reading these threads, pls come back.
i asked Rdannar, to use Trip roms and make them complete, he says he has no time.
Ehh it make me sick to see all that *****ing about Trip.... he is a great dev and so is J, Z, Rdannar and wolf. Ppl who slag him are not devs, just user who don't have the knowledge and skills to do what Trip done.
Reallu don't understand this :/ it's a loss for all if us here at xda.
I hope that mods will come to they senses and use trips work or talk to him in private ouside the xda forums, he just make change his mind as well.

and as for Z ... Hes awesome for everything hes done but i realize that he just jumps onto whatever looks awesome next. his Beta 4 is SOOO close to being complete yet he hasnt even looked at the thread in like 2 months.. Yes hes busy with 2.3 but come on.. if a guy like trip can put a camcorder on and he cant put a camcorder or camera on a CM7 thats just kinda slow. yes i understand hes busy with his personal life but He was soooo close with Beta 4 =(

There is a great possibility that they already know what froyo needs.. I'm sure voodoo and a proper cwm will be first on their list... Then cleaning, fixing, and getting rid of the verizon spy..

Agree completely. I saw requests yesterday evening on the forums, which is absurd. You can't expect the devs to get a froyo leak working AND release a complete library of froyo themes and ROMs on the same day. I'm sure within the next few weeks there will be MORE than enough ROMs and themes to go around.
If anything they deserve a thank you thread for what they do! Not request

Just because someone requests something does not mean they expect it, much less immediately. Perhaps there have been some rude people who did give off such an attitude, but it's hardly fair to lump the properly appreciative and understanding folks in with them.

+1 I've been watchin these forums for a little over a month just waitin for froyo... Im thrilled ****less in 3 days from the official 2.2 leak and we're going to have what 4 diff ROMS... I dont think devs mind bug reports the first while, then maybe some suggestions. If your going to request I'd suggest attatch that to a donation towards there time and hard work...

Actually it does matter. Attitudes like this and "angry mob" threads will just scare people off or prevent them from posting for fear of being pounced on. Not the best way to foster a community. And I can't speak for XDA as I rarely post here, but PLENTY of people on another board I frequent have not been shy with their praise of devs and contributors. Just because there aren't specific threads for it doesn't mean no one gets thanked
But anyway just my two cents. You may all resume burning effigies.

That's entirely possible, and if I've offended anyone then I do apologize, I just don't see the harm in people (politely) requesting ports of this or that theme. It gives the devs/modders a good idea of what's popular and therefore what to focus on if they feel so inclined.
If the offense scares noobs from posting where's my froyo? I'm willing to do it.

If it scares them to simply searching and reading threads, than I'm willing to take the hit as an offensive member... It's rediculous how many noobs think they are obligated. This I agree with, I see no harm in people requesting themes, like someone else said it is good to know what is popular, it's not like most are trying to demand it or expect it to happen immediately.
People asking about Gingerbread and Honeycomb is a little crazy, while I think they should search but it really doesn't bother me all that much. Worse case scenario answer them or don't.

Congrats to all the kids and trolls in the vibrant section for running of another dev. For those that haven't seen Eugene has removed all of his work from XDA. I don't understand how people can be so hateful for someone taking their time to make our phones better.

I never *****ed about the roms. Like all good things they come to a end like g1 or mytouch ppl move on and only a few stay with their phone, hoping it will interest someone to come up with one last rom

in the end we as a community did no favor to our selves whats supper ****y is look at how close to getting cm7 . now developers that could have made this very possible left eugene. master was somewhat active in that thread when it started. honestly cm7 is not the end all rom its nice to have option reason i stated that one is cause we get the most recent rom almost always updates weekly till stable we would have at least been at a point were we could get board of asop most recent google rom . now were losing devs left and right going to phones cause there more fun thats possible. but also we could have been more respectful and think ahead a little .we honestly have the bastard phone line of the groups samsung why in the world would people think to bite the very fews dev willing to feed us . there is a point and time were i fell like the mods should have been banning us .its one thing to point out a error its another to bash a dev when they give use something and the basher more then likely offers nothing in that situation ban that person with a temp or perm . i hope people realize we have to cut our **** out in the street would you just talk to someone that disrespectfully and not look to get ****ed up .in flip we cant get hit here but banned would teach something better then nothing.

No one was yelled at. He was asked to give credits to the devs who actually developed the files OR delete it. He probably misunderstood that, so he left for some time. I admit I don't know what went on via PM, so i don't take sides either.
Anyway, all of the devs agree that there's no longer bad blood between them, so please just don't start that topic again.

Who is fighting? I read the whole Story and theres a reason Trip,zdzihu or jerpelea doesnt collaborate with eachother. So its not like Trip doesnt share becouse he wants all the Fame just for him theres a Reason they dont collaborate. They are all very good Devs so dont matter if they work together or not they will make something amazing for X10 and thats what is important.
What is the reason?

I'm not trying to force the Devs into anything, or try to pressure them, I've simply opened this thread to see who thinks that it would be a good idea, if anyone is offended by this post, or thinks that they should try to flame me for it, then basically, you can get F****d. I've got a lot of respect for the Developers of the Galaxy SII and I know and beleive that they have the right to both their own opinions and their own choice.
I was looking through Samsung Galaxy S III section of this forum, to see what's going on around there and in the development section members were talking about how the developers of the HTC HD2 all came together and built ROMs as a team and ported Android and Windows Phone 7 OS together.

Basically, what I was thinking, is why don't WE do that? have all or some of our developers work as a team to create something amazing? I know it's a long shot, but I think if it were to happen then I don't personally think that there will be many things that our phones won't be able to do.
If you guys could just post or vote on the poll with your thoughts/queries, I'd really appreciate it so I can get an idea of just how many people think it'd be something that we should or shouldn't do!

Yeah, that's true, but I was just wondering who thinks it would be a good idea, I'm not trying to pressure the Devs into anything, I just think that we could see so many accomplishments come from it

HD2 had WM6.5 and we have android
Porting android on it would have been easier than posting WP7 to our phone because android is open source and WP7 is closed

It a poll to tell the Developers to DO anything or give anybody any hope, as the opening post says, I just wanted to see how many people thought that it would be a good idea, not because I want to force any of this in the Devs faces, if they want to do it then I personally would love it, but like I said, I'm not trying to push them into anything, I have simply opened the post for my own purpose to see how many people think it would or wouldn't be a good idea

I get that, I'm not dumb.
Btw, you may have omitted a "not" in the first sentence, unless you really are telling the devs what to "DO" (your capitals..).
My point is that since you're not telling the devs to do anything, what does the poll achieve?
For example, 300 people think it's a good idea. Then what? The same if 300 people say it's a terrible idea - so what?
As jj said, the devs decide, and they rarely post on this sub-forum.
A better idea would be for you to learn how to code & then either develop the things you'd like to see for the SGS2 yourself/with other developers in one of these 'teams', or link up with current devs & work on the projects they're currently involved with.

I have no girlfriend & I have a severe fungal infection on my scrotum which makes my balls itch incessantly. As a result, I scratch them quite frequently. Interestingly enough, I seem to be thinking of my phone whilst temporarily relieving the prickliness most of the time.

How about assisting villian for B2G first I say. Then see if we can port other stuff. I am not sure on what the request is here anyway? Is it to port SGSIII firmware to SGSII or another OS to SGSII?

It seems that nobody knows what to do while waiting for new I9100 firmware releases from Samsung (me included)
